  1. I stand in awe Dee, almost as good as dundeebarry on P&B! I fully admit to the "poetic licence" bit, but we really did live in his auld hoose in the hawkie when I was a lad. The date differential is caused by the fact that I ajudged the dead to have an all encompassing vision of wht's happened since, such as the evolution of a decent football team in Dundee. Yours, Davie. Caley through & through (these days)
  2. Utterly odious human being. Should fit in well at Ibrox.
  3. Bottom line is we've become a nasty po-faced self-righteous bunch of gits in this country, where no-one in the public eye should say anything off-message for fear of being dragged into the public arena and batter silly by the politically correct. FFS - it's a bit of silly banter between two adults; the apology has been offered and accepted by the lady linesman at the heart of it yet there's still a queue of people desparate to appear on Radio 5 etc, determined to show us how upset they are on someone else's behalf by a few words spoken in jest, in private, between a couple of blokes in a blokey environment and who grew up in an era when it was normal to joke about such things. And joke it was - if anyone imagines that Gray & Keys really do believe that a match official for top line senior professional football doesn't understand offside, they need their skull looking into. Gaaa. We've reached the point where it's a sacking offence to be a bit blokey. What's going on?
  4. MacGuire cheated. There was no dliberate contact, and I for one disliked the way that he peeked through his fingers that were holding his face just to make sure that the ref had seen him. Jack should have been booked, the "celebration" was inflammatory. I complained about it, got nowhere. The tackle on Shinnie was a solid red. So we were, in fact, really up aginst it tonight. We need a win against the arabs though, no question.
  5. That'll explain why he was training with them at Millburn tonight. So was Craig Brewster.
  6. Quality. Feckin. Post. Have a green dot, and sorry about my previous overestimation of our support - typo.
  7. Not biting. This belongs in P&B, you might be familiar with it?
  8. After that performance yesterday it was maybe a blessing that the BBC never showed too much of the low lights To scrape through literally against a mediocre third division/highland league outfit is highly embarrassing Its time Butcher & Malpas started to address the pathetic home form situation or home fans will stay away just like they chose to do yesterday dougal Yer back! Highly embarrasing? I wonder if Hibs, St Mirren or United fans would agree with you? TM4TJ is right - we just wore them down. I'm sure also that the 2 or 3 thousand home fans yesterday would agree on a day of fresh snow etc. etc. The BBC coverage was the goals and that was that really. On conclusion of the clip they then ignored the match completely and talked to auld man Weir about OF stuff. That's just disrespectful. Nevin redeemed it slightly after that but, as coverage goes it was pish, as the OP implied. See ya in a couple of weeks when you surface again pal.
  9. Obvious from 15 minutes in that there was only going to be one winner in this. It's difficult to play that "killer" pass when a highly motivated opposition sit in banks of four and look to break. It is, after all, exactly what we base our away games on. We do cry out for a creative midfielder, and IMHO sanchez did more in his 15 minutes or so than eric did in the preceding 75. Just shows what Rooney does when he gets service. It might not work every time, but it did today. Elgin defended superbly and their goalie had one immense ryanesque save from sutherland late on - well done to them, and an absolute hats off to their support. Lots of moans today that we should have won this earlier and easier, but TBH that smacks of arrogance, especially when you consider Hibs, St Mirren and the arabs. Next round, nae replay, job done.Jay 7 what planet are you on?
  10. Ginger, you're right. Games gone. The rest of you, just stop it. We weren't "woeful" we didn't get "beasted" there was no great excess of pointless hoofery. Collum was p*sh, so was my pie. The best description of us that I have heard so far in this entire beautiful year is that we are a "wee diddy team from the arctic" That we are, and enjoying it (mostly) Leave it at that.

    Fans

This is getting a bit polarised (again) I agree that Chants about Bell's maw are distasteful, but chucking insults back about workshy youth and being snide about who supports who, when and why ain't going to help. The "venomous" one was off to my left and up the back and again, I'd rather he learned a new sweary word to counteract the constant use of the C word. If you have a problem with any of that section, have a word - they are not confrontational or stupid and have reacted positively at any time I've said anything to them. I think there was an element of "humour" about the Blumenshtein chants, but it was a bit convoluted for my taste and ceratainly not aimed in any antisemitic way that I could discern. That way lies madness, and i think that us old timers would have been in there sorting them out had it been the case. They are tiresome at times, but vicious they are not. Next time, just have a word - I'll back you up.
  12. Under pressure? No. Underachieving? No. Getting the best out of this group of players? Usually. Tactically awry? Sometimes. That's life people, and carping when we are 4th in the SPL ain't cutting it for me. The only thing a change to a more attacking style in the SPL will achieve is the loss of more goals. we could get away with that in the 1st once we got the measure of it by simply scoring more than the opposition, but not here. Even in the games that we've lost, the displays have been not too bad. Motherwell was close, Hamilton close, Celtic close. The only team that have run over the top of us is Hearts, who have genuine aspirations to be third. The fact that we are right behind them shows us that we have every right to be there, and that's been achieved by our away record and the fact that we are a counter attacking side. It's where our strength lies, and it probably accounts for the reluctance to change tactics that, in the main, serve us very well indeed. By the measures above, if we beat Kilmarnock it will be by a pretty narrow margin. I'd probably take a draw. I'd then be happy.
  13. We don't need another Hayes, we just need the one we've got fit. There are other areas of the pitch that need attention more if you are taking transfer targets here - a creative driving midfielder, a defender and an effective foil for Rooney (who's mind appears to be on other things right now) What we missed on Saturday was someone fast enough and aware enough to pick up the ball into the left side channel that we have been playing all year. It's resulted in JH terrifying defences by running at them and we have usually profitted by a good ball into the box, a spectacular strike or a free kick. we had none of that on saturday, and an off day that in truth had been coming for some time. Roll on Killie.
  14. Merry Christmas. Me, struan and owen. Again. Honestly, I'm a babysitter, and not a very good one at that!
  15. Agree with the above, Jonny was less than "at his best" on saturday. If anything, he looked as if the game passed him by until he gave himself a bit of a shake in the last 15 minutes or so. I don't think any of us (including Jonny at times) knows what he's going to do next, but he's worth keeping on the field just in case. He was getting a bit like that in the Hibs game if you remember the pass back, so a wee rest might not be a bad thing right now.
  16. Gordy That was my boy. He came in the first time with me, wasn't drinking. The second time, he came back with his mate who was. He was looking for money from me (again!) and I left with him at this point. There was no hassle, he just didnae want to get left on his own. He's a 17 yo chancer as well, but there you are. I'll e-mail the wifie at Diggers and sort it out. Kids, who'd have them.
  17. Jeezo, I must have missed all this despite not being far away from this. Doofer, the guy with the flag and his mate were on the wind up. Flagman was just conforming to the "hun lite" stereotypeand the odd surreptitious nazi salute kinda gave it away. I'd suggest that that flag has other, almost universally understood, connotations in the central belt but hey, If you give it, you gotta take it. I don't think that "ten quid in tesco's" was a terrible thing to shout at some rotund ned in a vomit yellow trackie top. We need to chill people, it's that time of year.
  18. That was some game, I've no idea how we got away with some of the second half. Russel Duncan was my MOTM, but everyone played out of their skins. I particularly loved the Jambo with the ulster flag and his mate with the yellow tracksuit. Nice. Also liked TB's comment on the radio about Rosscoe not deserving a headband 'cause he only had one stitch. Still, managed the whole game this time but I lost Maimie at the end. Has anyone seen her since? (only kidding, she was off on a mission) Now, how do I keep going to away games without that daft hat? I'm scared to ditch it now!
  19. Hopefully the stewards won't be so draconian on Saturday. Naw, I'll be in happy davie mode and fully expect to get my 90 minutes worth.
  20. rubbish viewpoint, rubbish argument, rubbish fishing. G'way back to the OF cesspit (sorry, forum) on P&B

    Integrity

I can't figure the thread title - what evidence is there for a lack of integrity from Calumn Murray? He made mistakes and plenty of them , but the title suggests that he was in some way dishonest and for that there is not the slightest shred of evidence. "it was if it was an afterthought" for Miller's booking. Where is the evidence for this? Tell you what big man, leave this stuff for the likes of Lennon to spout. I want no part in it and neither, I would suggest, does anyone else in these parts.
  22. 2-1 home win. Foran and Rooney to score. Rooney scores a last minute penalty awarded by the late replacement referee, Mr. O'Flaherty of Dublin.
