  2. Agree, appreciate finances are tight but there may well be merit in employing someone with a successful track record in marketing and public relations on perhaps a two year fixed contract. I appreciate that someone of high caliber and and a proven record of success would command a significant salary and there might have to be a modest reduction in the playing budget as a result but it might just bear fruit. Someone confident in their ability to attract more fans and generate more income may well be happy for part of their remuneration package to be performance related and, to that extent, it could be, at least partially, self funding. I should add that this is not intended as a criticism of the initiatives the club are already taking but someone who's raison d'etre is to generate publicity and enthusiasm may just be able to bring something fresh to the table. I would imagine that the high calibre person you seek would command a salary of at least £120k a year. Add to that the employers costs and we're possibly talking £300k for the two years. Thats a reduction of around seven players in our already very small squad. So lets say we employ this person to the detriment of the team and the possibility of demotion and at the end of his term he reports back that people are no longer interested in football. We've kind of fekked up. Not saying we should employ someone full time, but perhaps someone who is a fan has experience in this area, or the club commission a set fee consultant for a short duration, the club have media and marketing already in place, but perhaps they need some input and guideance from more experienced avenues. In no way am I trying to belittle or be offensive but trying to market the club to city inhabited by a multi-cultural and interested people, we need to look at new ways of bringing the 'fair weather' fans in premenantly instead of only appeasling to the existing ICT fans. All i'm doing is trying to suggest application of the same logic I use in my profession where sometimes I have to bring in experts in a field as I may not have the knowledge depth required. Although reading on here, much of this is solved having people travel less, easier access and parking, standing and no stewards - that layby on the Kessock Bridge seems to tick most boxes, perhaps the club could put a collection box and pie stall there for the disaffected This thread is meant to be a 'call to arms' encouraging people of Inverness to get out and back the team or ideas how to - yet most is negative and this time focuses on the stadium and location........next up will be the merger
  3. I posted previously on threads discussing this, but see there is another post here saying the same thing. I'm not trying to dismiss or slate what the club is or has done but what about some real market research in the local area to find out what the population of Inverness want from a football club. There is little point asking us as we are already fans so maybe in some ways are too close to be fully objective. I acknowledge money is tight but investment in a marketing company may help, we can gauge average locals into focus groups, get street canvassing on the go and really see what is desired. Better media coverage locally and really forcing what ICT has to offer on local radio (MFR), press, social media. even shop windows and the back of buses. No point having inititives if the only people who know are those on mailings lists or on here - it needs to be cast far and wide. I believe we need to focus on the positives - its obvious some can't but that will always be the case. Stadium location has taken a hammering on this thread - most folks will either drive to the game or walk from town. Are people seriously trying to say that the distance from the bus/train station to the stadium is off putting compared to walking to the Bught (which seems to be mooted as the site everyone wanted) - a location with no infrastrcture or ability to deal with traffic. As for the cold, unless I've missed it has the Bught become some equatorial mirco climate - cos its going to be near every bit as cold. Fans need to stop pedalling this negativity which gets picked up on and start banding about the positives - great play, committed team, community spirit, friendly environment etc.

  6. BBC report that the Daily Star is running a story Graeme has turned down a new contract and is offski. Such a shame, but if thats true which based on the source is questionable - I wish him well as hes been a great player for us. If true now the board have to decide cash in during Jan or fight for highest league place and keep him til the summer.

  8. Aberdeen is a worse city than Inverness, there may be oil money, but none of its invested in the infrastructure. The streets are lined with bookies, charity shops and just tat, the whole place needs a massive cash injection and rejuvination. The streets are dark and dimly lit and any wknd night the number of fights and aggressive atmosphere is disturbing. For all the cash there is nowhere to spend it, there is a lack of high quality shops, resturants or entertainment outlets. You may suggest Inverness is in the dark ages, but as someone who has been resident in both places the quality of life and facilities in the Highland capital are better than Aberdeen - a city without even a pedestrianised area of main street and a traffic infrastructure to be ashamed of.
  9. I wonder if Motherwell may go for a cheaper option and see the likes or Lasley step into management or assistant - he's been injured, doing his badges and getting on a bit. Every year they trim the team and cut costs yet perform at the similar level, McCall resigning is a surprise as you would think he wasnt under huge board or fan pressure and could have turned it round? Perhaps he asked for money in January as he saw the squad was too weak to maintain the previous levels and has decided to walk based on that answer?

  12. Great performance on Sat all round, Vincent and Watkins shone bright. As much as I rate Billy, he is so low on confidence and missed several chances he would have scored, his workrate is great and he gets in the positions but for Celtic an Hamilton we need to not waste any chances, so I'd be inclined to rest him and play Marley up front. Nick Ross disappointed me, I would have likes to see him do more as I think at times he has been a good player for us and with Christe suspended it could have been a chance for him to show Hughes that he is an option for that position back. The Tansey Draper pairing get stronger with Tansey taking the lead role now I feel, they do a lot to protect the back, however I would like to see more overlapping runs from Raven and Shinnie as they sit too deep at times when we could push on. Overall though a great display against one of the leagues top teams, all this and we still have our captain to return although where he can get a game who knows lol. Great to see Esson involved on the bench, clearly getting more involved in the coaching side, plenty little chats with Latapay during the game.
  13. Brill Raven Warren Meekings Shinnie Draper Tansey Christie Vincent Wiliams Watkins As much as I'm a fan of Billy and his workrate was excellent on Sat again, but he missed some chances that on form he would have put away - we cant afford at Parkhead not to take every chance we have. Billy looks short on confidence and while dropping him may not help that, it will give us the opportunity to rest him and bring him on later if required. Vincent was great on Sat so keep him, bring back in Christie and put Marley up front as he is on form with goals. I was disapointed that with Christie suspended Nick never did more when he came on to try stake a place in the team.
  14. Brill Raven Warren Meekings Tremarco Tansey Shinnie Watkins Vincent Williams Mckay Although he may leave Shinnie at LB and play Polworth alongside Tansey. Cant see us playing anything other than Billy alone upfront.

  20. This seems to always be a re-occuring topic, yet nobody seems to come up with answers? Personally I am a ST holder and dont go to every game for various reasons I dont need to justify, but what has disappointed me greatly and was being honest expected is that we had a huge support at the cup final (subtract the 3k regular hardcore, that still left 5-6k extra), where are they now? What are or can the club do, when cup final tickets were bought do they have contact details for these 'fair weather' fans? If so can they get sent letters, offers, discounts to attend? Everyone knows games like Kille, St J, St M do little to stir the imagination for anyone even the hardcore fan, therefore do the club for these game need to do more to offer incentives to get fans in the door? I dont know what the answer is, most peole say football and fans is results driven - look at Aberdeen & D Utd, when they do well gates go up, even Dundee have shown this, where Hibs gates have dropped. Sadly we buck that trend with always having circa 3k, no matter where in the league or the product on show. There must be other reasons, perhaps its time for marketing to have higher focus, while I appriciate getting an experienced marketing team in place with media and communications skills is expensive perhaps it is needed? Get some public surveys around the town, look at the offers and the way the club is shown, more local business involvment - perhaps on here we are all biased in some way as true fans, so miss the issues the public actually have?
