Even playing Meekings at RB, would we have seen the Raven style overlapping runs? Thats where we were missing down the right and Devine's distribution at times was poor. Biggest problem with Sat was not loosing as thats part of the game, but the way we lost - out-played in every area, looked disorganised and made an average St J team look better than they are. We should have known about the threat May posed and had a plan to deal with it.Last year we took a tanking to Motherwell 1-5, but IMO we player better that game than at St J and Motherwell were a far better team. This is hopefully a wake up call for all and we can swiftly get back to winning ways, but I do worry about the squad depth as nobody I have seen come in this season have been overly impressive............so far.

^Agreed, and to think we have another 10 days of this crap before a game to talk about..................
-
Maybe all the players were offended too - that's why they refused to take part in the game *rolleyes* Never seen it at the game but I do think national flags for national games only. End off. If folks want flags they should be related to the club - logo, badge, player, this opinion relates to all matches and teams but thats just my opinion, not because it offends me but because soneone will always try look for hidden message and create an unnecessary fuss.

We missed the overlapping runs from raven. The passing and distribution throughout the park was poor, nobody made runs into space or gave options for passing. Too often playing high balls which the st j defence lapped up all day. Not sure about polworth didn't look ready for this level. But for brill we would have been really hammered. Also TB took too long to make changes as first half showed it just wasnt working. disappointing but was a good away crowd today.

League 2nd or 3rd league cup - win scottish cup - semi billy to get 25 league goals this season and a 7 figure offer in the summer. brill to be player of the year. TB to be next mayor of inverness. Del to get the boot before the season ends lol
-
Terry & Mo will stay, my concern is the players/board. If we are still doing well, come Jan we could have offers for McKay, Shinnie, Draper, Doran etc - who knows we could be looking at a few key players moving on. However I'm hopeful the board would reject offers as would the players on the basis TB took them from nothing to make them better and that any Jan move would be there come the summer - stay, show loyalty and maybe get a reward at the end of the season with a cup final/trophy etc.

apprently.... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24360730 Although how many times have the mdeia written this - Calderwood, Brown even back to Skovdahl. On paper they IMO have the best squad outside Celtic yet are sitting 5pts off the top after 8 games, surely thats underachieving so far?

Anyone recall how long any non-OF has lead the league table for in recent years, we are at 8 games, am I right thinking Hearts were at 11 or 12 before Vlad went mad and sacked his manager for being too good? What about during the season - Don's in the early 90's or Hearts back in '86?
-
League leaders and we made it into 2nd spot on Sportscene and even a brief post match analysis about our performances rather than the plight of Hibs - maybe we are slowly getting the media coverage we deserve.

Why do folks leave their houses so late then blame traffic for being late? I left the black isle just about 2pm crossing the bridge at about 2.10pm with no queue or wait then parked walked to the stadium and was there by 2.45pm - is there a reason folks try to time arriving at 2.57pm for a 3pm k.o. all the time? I also walked across the a9 and didn't think I might die which was nice, only took 4 games for the police to realise this could be a serious incident waiting to happen.
-
Yip. Planning heading down to this one. Hopefully build on todays result.

Hibs were guff, on that display they have less fight and leadership than midden, think they will have a hard season. Brill had little to do but an outstanding save from our backline (warren I think). In spells we played well but at other times it was the long high ball tactic which doesn't work. Billy seems to score hard goals but miss when one on one or from the spot, if only he could he start tucking more of those chances away too. overall a good days work and back on top but we still are short of the earlier displays thus season. Crowds seem to be getting a little better too.

So do the beeb have exclusive TV rights to the league cup or is it just sky/BT aren't interested? I was half expecting - Well V dons & derby on Sky, beeb showing Morton & thier big chance and us to be ignored as usual lol.
-
Doubt the sfa or sponsors would have a final at pittodrie although refreshing i think it will be in Glasgow or maybe Easter rd could be an option if we played aberdoom in the final.
-
Great draw if you're a Morton fan IMO. Quite happy with us getting a home tie and we usually perform ok against DUFC - considering its probably going to be a dark, cold & windy night with more than likely some rain it should give a wee bit advantage. Is the semi's another draw or is the way the ties have come out the routes to the final?

Esson Raven Meekings Waren/Devine Shinnie Foran/Polworth Draper Doran Ross Agdestein McKay If Warren isnt fit then Devine plays, Play Polworth in the middle with Draper if Foran isnt fit and drop Vincent for Agdestein - although I'd suggest that if we had any injuries then they woudl be the only changes to minimise disruption. Still looking to see what Watkins & Allen have to offer as they were cited as the 2 best summer signings yet we have still to see them play.
-
Agreed, its not ideal to play Sun / Tue or Wed / Fri - but its good preparation for next season and Champions League football having to play 3 games per wk? Depending on who we draw it may be the BBC TV game too - which would make it the Wed I guess.

In the last few wks Hibs, Dons & D Utd have teams that are starting to gel and improve, but to win the cup I'd take on any of them as we know on our day we are as good as any team in SPFL - I'd like to get Hearts in the SF again though to extract some revenge over last year.

County need time to gel, many a season we have started equally badly. Although there is a bit of a sense that they ditched the tried and tested players they had in favour of foreign signings probably percieving that as they are foreign and cost more they must be good (which has yet to be proven). I expect them to be safe and maybe like last year as the season progresses and Vicky Park becomes a sodden bog they will start to win again when nobody else can adapt to playing on that marsh. *expecting Del to be seen doing a rain dance in the high st this wk*

Suppose its just like last nights Sportscene where the league leaders were on 3rd and the conversation was more about the 'issues' at Killie than our players, team and performance. Fail to see how as leaders for 6 wks now we shouldnt have been 2nd on after the wknds big game.

Having only just now read the 'article' on the BBC sport site 'Caley Thistle lead the top flight, three points ahead of the champions, who nevertheless have a game in hand. ' Am I reading too much into the statement by thinking this is the west coast biased BBC suggesting we may be top but only because Celtic have their game in hand - perhaps its the use of the word 'nevertheless', but don't see that giving us the credit we deserve - wonder what cicumstances this season we will get the recognition in the national media - or am I being too harsh?
-
Great recognition for the hard work - lets hope it continues and is the first of many more awards this year
