  1. Sounds like we played well and it was certainly a great result. However, let's not forget that Hibs were tired after a cup tie on Thursday and fielded a weakened side as a result.
  2. Sunday Times says that Dargo has rejected our final offer.
  3. There are reasons why the Utd fans refer to him as Dangerous Dave McCracken.
  4. Often when a player hands in a transfer request, he already knows exactly where he is going to end up and how much he is going to get paid.
  5. May I respectfully request all users of this site to avoid suggesting that we make a move for him as a replacement for Dods. One man's ICT legend is another man's unfit mediocre first division side reject.
  6. Just struck me that in the last 6 months Celtic have signed 3 former Rangers players (Miller, Pressley and Brown), whilst the Celtic coach McDowell has gone straight to Rangers. Celtic also bid this week for Lafferty despite him saying publicly that he is a Rangers fan. My point is that there has been no real issue raised in the press or with the fans (as far as I am aware) about signing these "Huns" or "Tims". I'm pretty sure that just a few years ago there would have been a real fuss. Is this progress?
  7. I see David Robertson, after making a mess of Elgin, has been sacked after making a mess of Montrose. Can't imagine many chairman queueing up to give him a job now. Stewartie for Montrose?
  8. I feel far happier about him leaving us for Celtic than I would if he was going to the likes of Falkirk or Dundee Utd. Good luck to him, and thanks for all the saves.
  9. With Broonie going, we will be signing another keeper, the only question is will it be back-up to Fraser or a new first choice? At the very least, it surely needs to be someone who can provide competition for a starting place at SPL level. So who do we go for? Taking into account the fact that we won't want to pay much of a transfer fee, I wonder if the likes of Bryn Halliwell (currently warming the bench at St Johnstone) might enter Charlie's thoughts? Or can we do better than that?
  10. in the next 24 hours, according to Radio Scotland. David Marshall is going on loan to Norwich and Broonie is being brought in as cover. Hope it's a decent fee we are getting. :009:
  11. A bit of advice for you ITSAGOALCRAIGDARGO - never adopt a username idolising one of our players! Players leave, and when Dargo does you'll be ashamed to show your face. There used to be a right t1t on here called Robsonisgod, but he disappeared shortly after the ginger whinger and has never been seen or heard since. :004:
  12. Likewise, but I wouldn't be surprised if we have to wait a good few weeks to see him on the pitch. It's not as if we are playing badly and prepared to try anything that might improve out fortunes.

    Elton John

This concert brings a whole new meaning to the idea of camping in the opposition's half.

  15. Based on what I have seen of Caff in the SPL, it pains me to say that I think we would concede more goals with him than we do with Dods. Perhaps Caff just doesn't have the presence or strength needed in a league where the players tend to be bigger than in Div 1? However, he has not had an extended run in the team at this level and has been played out of position a few times, so if given the chance he may well step up to the mark. I really hope so, he has been a great servant, and has more pace and general footballing ability than our other central defenders. I just don't know if those are the skills that are needed to do the job these days........
  16. I agree - but he would only be using the Scotland job as a short term stepping stone back into club management.
  17. I see Ian Stewart is playing for Locos since being punted by Peterhead.
  18. You always feel crap after conceding an injury time equaliser...........BUT a point away to the 3rd place team isn't at all bad.
  19. At the very worst, Charlie could name U21 players as subs even if they are at home in their beds.
  20. To me it makes no sense to let a player leave in January for that kind of sum. When teams are bunched up as close as they are, a top quality player can easily earn us the extra few points that would convert into 2 or 3 positions further up the league and an extra six figure payout.
  21. He agreed to the terms and conditions of his contract, and was more than happy to sign it. And then even happier to rip it up when a better offer came along.
  22. Dennis Wyness Russell Duncan Stuart McCaffrey Rory McAllister and now Marcus Paatelainen. Can we assemble a whole team of players that Aberdeen offloaded?! We've benefited hugely from most of the players who moved along the A96. Another success story will be very much appreciated, as will a victory over their former employers.
  23. It's about time we had someone with "proper" footballers hair.
  24. I guess this mystery has now been solved.

    Liam Keogh

He was excellent in our promotion season, and might even have got one of the player of the season awards. But since then we've seen little to suggest he is good enough for the first team. (Just struck me - exactly the same could be said about Caff!)
