  1. A valiant 0-0 :007: But then Ukraine beat France :party01:
  2. Under Brew we got a few excellent performances followed by a few poor ones. Anyone who can reach a yes or no conclusion based on that is a genius or a fool! :024:
  3. Not so long ago you were heavily implying that Niculae was only getting picked because of contractual obligations. :024:
  4. Well it was tough going, but a helluva lot more enjoyable than attending the Motherwell game would have been. In very windy conditions I played beter than I ever have done and went round in 108, lost only 2 balls, and even picked up 2 pars along the way. An absolutely brilliant experience. So I'll enjoy watching Tiger and co in the 2009 Open, especially if they don't par the 9th!
  5. My mum dug out a diary she kept of my first few years. Amongst all the usual embarrassing poo stories, there were numerous references to sugar being in very scarce supply in 1974. It clearly became an obsession trying to get hold of any sugar, and brought much joy if some could be procured through friends or colleagues. Not enough to make jam that year though. Any of the oldies remember this? Why was there a shortage, and was it international, national or just around Inverness?
  6. Watch, Bannerman'll be along soon to disagree!
  7. My view at the time was that the Scottish tabloids hyped it up so much, with "savage animal ruins life of promising Scottish youngster" kind of thing. Shades of St Mirren/Kerr/Tokely. The severity of a bad tackle tends to be determined by whether your team's player is the victim or the perpetrator.
  8. Ganea? IIRC that one wasn't remotely in the same league as some other horror tackles, such as last nights.
  9. That's very harsh. :32:
  10. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Brown leave in the window. On the few first team chances he got he was not at all impressive. However, bigger and richer clubs will be ahead of us in the queue. But if by some miracle we got him back, can I take this opportunity to copyright the headline "Broon coup".
  11. Congrats to both parents - although Papalazaroo's contribution to the process was short and swift!
  12. Are the Poles complaining about Scots taking their jobs? Or is that just Zibi?
  13. :023:
  14. Sunday Mail reports that Partick are lining up a move for Caff in the next window. If true, it would appear to be a good move for all concerned. Although I would imagine that a few other First Division teams would also be interested if he was made available.
  15. I've been offered a free round next weekend on the championship course at Turnberry :crazy07: I don't really play golf, and I've never been round any course in less than 100. But I'm looking forward to this so much that I'm even going to wash my balls this week. Anyone know the course? Any tips?
  16. The football season ends in May And Kenny's finally sent away As Pars fans now get used to life With local derbies at East Fife!
  17. Do posters get reprimanded for good spelling and grammar? :024:
  18. In some circles "bad" actually means "good". There is however no ambiguity when referring to ICT's defence. Mind you, I bum Ross Tokely. Am I sick or what? :029:
  19. And you call yourself dump master?! It's because of changes in the ingredients of dog food over the last 20 years, apparently.
  20. Sounds like we were OK today, after a terrible start.
  21. They are very lucky that the draw first announced did not have Celtic v Rangers. Can you imagine the conspiracy theories if they tried to change that one!?
  22. Wouldn't that just lead to twice as many howlers?
  23. Good luck! This sounds like a good bit of fun, so credit to whoever came up with it.
  24. It's purpose is to encourage the development of youth and home grown talent, and IMO there is no doubt it is working. The rule is the same for all teams, and is good for Scottish football. I've got no time for managers moaning about it.
  25. That's pre-meditated murder, and cannot be condoned. I've always preferred to just keep driving in a straight line when one runs out into the road, and allow an accident to happen. It is after all considered dangerous to swerve to avoid an animal. There was one occasion though when I had to go over the cat 3 times before it stopped thrashing around. There were all these wee kids at the roadside, staring with looks of horror on their faces, but it was the humane thing to do. [Note to self : don't ever walk out in front of Mee's car]
