  1. Win the lottery! I'm sure many folk are in work lottery pools. So we do a fans Euromillions Lottery Pool once per week. As many people as possible get involved and donate £1 each (half the price of the ticket price). How ever many £1's are entered, we buy as many Euromillions as possible. We then split any winnings 50/50. i.e. 50% to the club and 50% divided to the folk playing. Any winnings less than say £200 gets reinvested in Lottery tickets, so if we have lots of people playing and win a small amount one week, we could buy up to 100 lucky dips lol. Obviously, this is difficult to organise in terms of getting the money, maybe a pay pal account or something. So, i'm going to ask / aim for 10 Caley Thistle friends that I see reguarly. If we all ask 10 friends that you see regularly, then have lots of pools in theory every week there could be hundereds of Lottery tickets bought for Caley Thistle! It may reduce the odds from 16,000,000/1 to say 15,999,999/1 but if you play the Lottery regularly then why not give it a go for Caley Thistle. Plus, it's a bit of fun as well without throwing away lots of money. Not a serious fundraising idea and obviously we wouldn't count on winning, but you never know! It could be us! I'll let you know once I have my ten....
  2. We also got relegated in a predominately blue shirt. Maybe we'll get league reconstruction in a predominately blue shirt. It's certainly different. I think I like it, but i'll need to see it up close. However, i'll be at the club shop to buy it tomorrow. It would be great for us to have our biggest quantity sales of strips ever considering the current finances!!! No matter what the colours are, there's a Caley Thistle badge on it. That'll do for me.
  3. Well I suppose we could get loan signings as long as the players club pays all the wages, if not then it's the yoof.
  4. This is the kind of quote that I would like to see in the Sunday papers, accredited to Richie Foran on Sunday October 7th 2012. Aye but replace bookings with red cards and replace '3' with match abandoned. Now that would bring a new entertainment factor!
  5. I'm glad we are signing / hoping to sign Simon King. I was impressed with him at Helgin. I think going with youngsters to fill the gaps is the only thing we can do. Finances of the Scottish game have dictated who Butcher can and cannot sign. This is it. If Simon King is added to the squad then we have our squad complete for the new season. It's time for the youngsters to make their mark - not just at our club, but at every club. Lets get behind every single one of our lads. They need our support!
  6. Not with my dodgy camera work!!!!
  7. Over a grand! Good stuff! :clapping:
  8. Well done everyone involved. It was a fast passing game. From the sidelines it was very entertaining. I thought our lads were better in the first half but County were better in the second half. We should have had a penalty in the first half (hand ball). I reviewed the video footage and can confirm this. A wonder goal from danielboni gave us the equaliser just before the end of the game. County had been doing training sessions together and were well prepped for the game. A lot of our team met for the first time today. I think County had assmebled their team and advertised it to us after assembling, so to take it to penalties was feckin fantastic. Well done Mike Noble for getting the guys ready before the match. Thanks to old caley girl for taking care of the kits for us after the game. Thanks to the club for supplying the strips. I would help with the kits but not wanting to do any ironing for a wee while There was a reasonably good crowd actually so i'm sure quite a lot was raised for the charity.
  9. I'll be there with my ironed foot! Spent 3 hours in A+E this morning after dropping the hot iron this morning with no shoes or socks on! Nice little pattern on the top of my foot now! We have had a last minute request from a couple of Caley Thistle fans so my place has been taken. Looking forward to watching the game!!!
  10. If things are as bad as I fear, I think the time has arrived for some sort of 'fighting fund'. County accept donations via paypal I think. i've always thought these kind of things should be used only in the case of financial crisis. Well we are deep into a financial crisis!
  11. My goodness what a boring game! Still, as pre-season games go it was a good work out for the team so I suppose that's the main thing! We seem to be missing the killer touch in front of goal. Glad we played (or tried to play) passing football instead of the hoof. We had plenty of chances as well but struggled to convert them. I thought the trialist (name escapes me) had a good game.
  12. After some reflection and conversations in and around Borough Briggs today, I too am happy that Kennys statement was referring to the reconstruction proposals (I believe the ones posted by St Mirren). As a matter of fact, I did not even realise there was anything on the table that would allow reconstruction and The Rangers in Division 3. I have no idea why they were rejected as it still allowed The Rangers into Division 3 and not Division 1. So, I can see why Kenny Cameron is disapointed. I also believe that we will not be pressing for The Rangers to go back in the SPL / SPL2 and that the board are fully supportive of their admission into Division 3. However, because the statement was made without public knowledge (well I certainly didn't know) of this league reconstruction idea that still had The Rangers in Division 3 (i.e. it wasn't a bribe) then it makes it very awkward for the club. However, what's done is done and I believe that many others will come to realise soon that Kenny Camerons statement wasn't as bad as we first assumed. As for the folk asking Kenny Cameron to resign, i'd imagine that this is a board statement, not simply a Kenny Cameron statement. He's a Caley Thistle man and I do not believe that he is back tracking or misleading fans. Bottom line, the statement was regarding league reconstruction and NOT the league that The Rangers will be playing in.
  13. May as well close this thread now. Celtic forums are full of 'boycot ICT' threads.
  14. I think we should create a new Alex Thomson appreciation thread! When I met him earlier, he mentioned that he may be going out to Syria to carry on as the war correspondent for Channel 4. Long may he continue as Channel 4's Chief Newco correspondent! We're lucky to have a journalist of this standard.
  15. Trying very hard not to upload the Picard gif now! I disagree with the KC statement / wording of the statement. But right now, the club need us. The fans are the heart and soul of the club. I'm angry because I really care about Caley Thistle. The worst thing to do now is walking away. That would be pathetic.
  16. I won't bore everyone with the Jean-Luc Picard gif, but you know! Very unhappy with the statement.
  17. Because he works for channel 4, maybe that's why the BBC don't pay too much attention to him. Also, he speaks the truth. That makes him a problem!!! Alex Thomson for SFA President!
  18. Could it be that with discussions already taken place regarding SPL 2, and the apparant dire financial implications for SPL teams with The Rangers in Division 3, this meeting will be discussing The prospect of SPL 2 and/or The prosepct of a U-turn on the SPL vote.
  19. If you are born in England, you think of yourself as British – Great British in fact. If you are born in Scotland, you think of yourself as Scottish It is know in Psychology (as the little man syndrome ) i. e. The big guy doesn’t waste his time bragging. Or saying how good he is You see it’s not important to him I read the first line and then.....
  20. Wow! From Alex Thomson again: "WARNING. Club chairman "Everyone in that room heard that Stewart Regan informed Charles Green that there's no way "Rangers" will be in D3 . " "That's what really went on. Ignore any guff about "Rangers" definitely heading for D3. This fight has only just started. "
  21. Alex Thomson has just tweeted: Tonight the fight intensifies: Scottish FA pledged to over-rule fanpower and their own clubs. Alex was tweeting away from the steps of Hampden this morning and in this whole situation he has probably been one of the best journalists to cover it - not bad from a war correspondent! This is not ending any time soon.
  22. As I mentioned in the Rangers in admin thread, I was at Hampden for a few hours this morning, and chatter amongst high profile journalists early this morning before the vote took place was the SPL2 will be a 'dead cert'. We await for the next move....
  23. This story is hilarious! Must have been great for the team morale / banter when this story came out lol Now we need a song for him involving taxis and coppers.
  24. 11.39 arrival. So shall see you at Spoons just before 12.
