  1. Great to see our under 18s parade their trophy this afternoon and get the applause of the crowd.
  2. We knew Ayr would come out flying, as they felt hard done to on Tuesday and had nothing to lose. 3-1 is a tough one tactics wise. Do we sit in and play on the break, or try to go for it? That caused some nervousness on the pitch and safety first play, rather than anything bold. Ayr deservedly took the lead, and kept on the front foot in the first half. I thought we weathered the storm, and the second was pretty even. The equaliser settled things, and made it "job done" which was the priority. I only recall one save by Ridgers, so we handled them pretty well. Any word on Walsh or Mckay? Hope both are fit for Tuesday. As others have said, a cup semi, third in the league and now a play off semi is quite an achievement given our budget, so let's give full support on Tuesday. We beat them in the cup, so have nothing to fear! Of the players, Ridgers had no chance with the goal. Mckay and McHattie were targeted by Ayr's wide men, whilst Donaldson and McCart were solid. Trafford continues to grow in importance, although we did not see much from Chalmers. Walsh was struggling with injury, whilst Doran had a few decent moves. Polworth had a decent game, and was so close to giving Doran a one on one with the 'keeper. White was a menace. McDonald did very well, whilst Rooney was solid. Not our best afternoon, but I'd have taken a scrappy 1-1 before kick off, and we are still in contention. Well done guys!!
  3. I’m not sure if it is possible, but joining the Highland League for our up and coming youngsters would be great.

That’s great news. He has been very steady. Whilst I hope Chalmers signs a new deal, Welsh and Trafford could be a good partnership next season.

  7. Great result! Well done to all involved! I see McCall griping about offside for our second and it not being a penalty. They will be fired up for Saturday so we need to stay focussed.

  9. Saw Red Poppy vehicles at the ground. Have they got the hospitality again?
  10. Not the best we've played this season, but the priority was avoiding injuries and suspensions, and we managed a home win, a rare result in the league! Dunfermline were poor, and the goal resulted from a defensive mess up, but Austin was composed to score. He could have had a couple more with better finishing. Walsh hit the post with a screamer. Ridgers made one really good save, but was not tested much otherwise. We sensibly subbed Donaldson and Trafford when they had knocks. Hopefully not serious and both are fit for Tuesday. A quiet game for most players, but those worthy of mention are Ridgers for his save, Rooney, when going forward, McCart who looks so composed, Trafford and Chalmers, who both put in a shift, and Austin who was very busy. Polworth came on as a sub, and his vision stood out, although he did react to some niggles on the pitch. We need to find a replacement for him. Would have liked to have seen Machedo, but the injuries put paid to that. A poor game, but a result that hopefully gives momentum and confidence, with Polworth and Doran presumably returning on Tuesday. Is Tremarco out for the season? As for the awards, shame more did not stay behind to support the players: a cup semi and third place is better than we hoped for. The show was stolen by super captain Carl's daughter in her party dress! Congratulations to all who got awards. Doran and Walsh from the fans. Donaldson from the away travelling fans. Chalmers / Welsh and McCart from the players, Chalmers from the press, and special mention to the top under 18 MacGregor. Well done all, keep it going for the next three weeks!!
  11. He's a Scot and, assuming that is all in the past, I want him to win.
  12. Great to hear about Brill getting success. He was great for us,
  13. Of the teams coming up, I assume Arbroath are part time. Of those in the play offs, are Raith Rovers full time? I'd imagine Forfar and Montrose are part time. As an aside, did young Hoban get any game time at Forfar?

  15. Relieved it's Wednesday if we finish fourth, as I can attend. I'd have missed it if Tuesday.
  16. Excellent news. He's become an asset for us, and is also a really nice local guy!
  17. I've had a letter from the club promoting the early bird offer. I will get mine next week some time.
  18. Just watched the (brief) highlights. The penalty looked soft to me. I know we give Rooney some stick, but that was a fine shot, and he has weighed in with a good few goals this season. Great to see Trafford score: he has come on immensely recently, although still prone to easy bookings, and could be even more important next season without Polly. Have we any players at risk of suspension at present? Hopefully we do better than Ayr on Saturday and secure 3rd but, to be honest, at the start of the season I'd have seen a cup semi and play off place as a great outcome. Well done lads, lets go for it over what will hopefully be the next 7 games!

  20. Can you update the list to show McHattie rather than Tremarco, please. I was going to give McHattie one, then realised I couldn't. Thank you. <<My Bad! Sorted, thanks tm4tj>>

  22. Probably depends on McCart’s fitness, which I hope he is. On that assumption, my starting line up would be: Ridgers Rooney Mckay McCart Tremarco Trafford Chalmers Walah Polworth Doran White But after Tannadice, Robbo could have another rabbit hiding under his hat. Fingers crossed!!
  23. Welsh is our first pick. Not sure who is second. Clearly it was White but he missed so then Doran. Donaldson could be the outsider as second pick. Hopw we’ve been practicising given the last two semis with Hearts have been settled on penalties.
  24. Given we have 29 points from 16 away games and only 20 from 16 home games, 4th is probably our best option. We are Ayr’s bogey team so a draw at home in the first leg then an away win..... We also have a decent record against United, so same again! Then all to play for against Hamilton, St Mirren or Dundee. I may be being optimistic, but who knows!!
  25. I hope the testimonial is well supported. Looking at the Stranraer post, he had potential but sadly we will not now see him deliver it. I really hope Angus has a great future out with football.
