Cameron Ferguson has signed for Forres, who thanked ICT for making this possible - not exactly sure what we did other than have him on trial for a few weeks.

Apparently we can't sign him due to English FA rules? He's been at Newcastle, Newcastle u21s and Forfar. So that's the technicality

Ah OK. He can’t sign for a senior club this season because he has already played for 2 senior clubs this season - Forfar and a 10 minute sub appearance for Newcastle U21s who are classed as a senior club under English FA rules.

If we can't sign him for that reason, one has to ask why he was here in the first place - apart from the point that if he isn't good enough for Forfar, why would anyone think he was good enough for us?

The press are describing it as a little known technicality (if he had played for a Scottish U21 side it would not have counted towards the 2 senior club limit), but yes it was a waste of everyone’s time having him here if the hope was that he could be part of the squad this season.

It might turn out though that next season he is the best striker we can afford.

Not unexpected after he went off last week, but very bad news all the same. I guess we’ve seen the last of him. ☹️

Some players just can't seem to catch a break, but it does appear that some are risked with returning sooner after injury than others.

Maybe Shaw has been training harder than he has been playing in games. Haven't seen much evidence of him exerting himself since Dodds left.

MVP for Ayr next year?

It’s a shame that Shaw was risked when MacGregor was fit and training and not even taken into the squad - infact they went without the full squad - only taking 19. Maybe it was because they thought Ferguson’s son was going to be included. Who knows.

If only we showed some loyalty to Shane and kept him on for another year…. Where’s he playing these days anyway?

He's not playing.  P&J reported earlier this month that he hopes to make a comeback next season.  Apparently he came close to signing for a club "a few weeks" before that report, but it fell through.

Looks like we made the right call there then. Had a Quick Look for Tom Walsh as well and although it’s only Wiki he doesn’t appear to have a club either.

There was a post in papers about him last week - he’s doing personal training and hoping to play again.

Hoping, more than expecting, was the impression I got. Does bar work for income these days.

Had a look to see how Ferguson got on for Forres today but he wasn’t in the squad after getting injured in training yesterday. Where it gets interesting is that it happened when training with ICT despite having signed for Forres and having nothing to do with us officially.

Probably signed to get a few more folk in to watch games. Doesn't sound like he's in the same league as his old man, playing wise that is.

Austin seems to have played his last game for the club. I have to say this is the worst year ever for player loyalty. Once Ferguson came in it was 'my way, or the highway' which has not helped results. Patterson would have motivated existing players to perform for the club.  The core of the club has been ditched. Our survival is heavily predicated on the loan players.  To be fair most have given their all but for our signed players watching their colleagues being moved on or blanked has not helped. We can but hope there is motivation this Saturday.
