Who will be the 3 candidates?

Caley Thistle have not approached anyone regarding the position and will draw up a list of the three most favourable candidates after today's meeting (22-Jan-09) at Caledonian Stadium.

Inverness director of football Graeme Bennett claims the Highland club will consider all applicants regardless of nationality or experience.

He said: ?The process for the replacement of the manager has started and that will be ongoing.

?There has already been a fair bit of interest in the position and we are not ruling anybody in or out.

?We have an open book, there is no set criteria, we are just seeing who is available and we will take it from there.

?We are going to sit down and decide who we would like to speak to.

?We have not spoken to anyone about the job yet ? it is up to the board to do that.

?We have gathered some information over the last 24 hours on prospective candidates and the sooner we can arrange interviews the better.?

So if today's board meeting is going to result in three names being put forward then I think they may be:

1) J Robertson

2) A Knox

3) A N Other

I don't think we will see Terry Butcher or Ossie Ardiles on that short-list of candidates being invited for an interview at the club....

Interestingly these are the latest odds and the bookies don't often get it wrong (but where do they get some of these names):

John Robertson 2

Terry Butcher 10/3

Barry Wilson 5

Archie Knox 6

Ossie Ardilles 9

Gordon Chisholm 9

Willie Donnachie 10

Kevin MacDonald 11

Derek McInnes 12

Steven Pressley 14

Eric Black 14

Neale Cooper 16

Colin Calderwood 16

Bruce Rioch 16

Chris Sutton 16

Charlie Christie 16

Stevie Frail 18

Maurice Malpas 20

Colin Hendry 20

Alex Rae 20

Jim Duffy 22

Derek Adams 25

Duncan Shearer 33

Craig Brown 33

Steve Paterson 33

Bobby Williamson 33

Word is it's Knox and Sutton for def.

This is 100% correct, except it is Sutton and Knox. From a member of the Heathmount Mafia in exile.

Which is nice.

What's nice? being in exile from the Heathmount, or having Suttnknox, which sounds like it could be itchy.

Although Knox had 4 years as No.1 at Forfar and 3 at Dundee I'm not sure that he really relishes the No.1 position, bit like Parky in that respect, so I could see him coming as assistant to someone like Sutton. He is an excellent coach and has been involved at the highest levels at the time. Aberdeen in early 80's and Man U, Rangers and Everton. He has a great deal of experience and knowledge and would be an asset to our club.

Having a say in winning 1 Cup Winners cup, 1 Super cup, 5 Scottish cups, 3 league cups 1 FA cup and 6 Scottish league titles isn't a bad record.

Would that not depend on what they expect? Besides, for a lot of coaches and managers, its not all about the money. Its the challenge.

Archie insome capacity would do me, he has the experince we need at this time.

And probably nail a couple of strikers on loan from Old Trafford in the bargain.

I hope this has nothing to do with ICT but Bobby Williamson was rumoured to be home from Uganda and in Glasgow today.

His record is good but I dont like his style of football.

Team From To Games Won Lost Drawn

Chester 11-05-2007 02-03-2008 38 11 18 9

Plymouth 20-04-2004 06-09-2005 58 19 27 12

Hibernian 25-02-2002 20-04-2004 93 34 38 21

Kilmarnock 07-12-1996 25-02-2002 242 89 86 67

Hibs and Killie record is top 6 form but as I say I hope not

hasn't he only recently taken over the uganda job?

Been there for a few months now, Doing pretty well. Blobby Williamson IMHO would be a better option than "grim reaper" Knox.

"grim reaper" Knox.

Wait a minute, that's eight candidiates!

Malpas getting the job would clearly upset and annoy a lot of supporters....

That's why I think he'll get it!

This certainly doesn't sound like Robbo:

P&J

“Hopefully by Tuesday we will have a result. A list has been drawn up, we are just checking out availability and how much they want the job and fit the bill with the club.

“We will be speaking to four candidates and we have interviewed two of them. There is not a clear favourite, people have got commitments and we have got to tie it in with what best suits the club. It is no secret where we are based and we need a guy to come up and relocate. There are a lot of issues to be resolved.”

He added: “It depends when we interview the guy, the job could be for four months or for four years.

“We might take someone until the end of the season and it might suit the person, it might not.

If true that's the best news I've heard in a while...

Best news since oooh... At least last since Brewster was fired :rotflmao:

Robbo, Butcher or Knox - I'd be happy with any 1 of them.

That P&J article is nothing more than little bits from each of te sunday papers cut and pasted. lazy journalism at its best.
