Fortress Longman

Have yas noticed that Butcher has changed the trend of picking up more points away from home than at the Dump ? I think that he is the first manager to have done that.

He was hoping that a few games ago, if we won our remaining four home games we would stay up!

I think he should be hoping the other way about!

Fortress Longman ?

What would be a better nickname for TCS,

Somewhere that none wants to go, fears and dreads,

No IHE, I'm not talking about the gum clinic.

I was thinking more along the lines of the Death Star.

Any better suggestions.

No - I still prefer "The Dump"!

Since Chelsea were rightfully knocked out of the Champions League it's only right we call the stadium 'The Bridge'

Butchers record in home games:

P 8

W 4

D 2

L 2

F 10

A 5

Here's our record prior to Butcher coming in:

P 12

W 2

D 2

L 8

F 12

A 20

Half of our goals came in two games (Killie and Partick).

Home form has been vital for us since Butcher came in no doubt about it and i'm so glad that it has improved since he arrived. All being well it remains a fortress for the remaining 2 games as well as pick up some results away.

I was going to say "CaleyDen" in honour of our very own English Butcher leading the troops again (at least its the home ones this time !) but it doesnt sound too good ..... How about "Fortress on the Firth" or the Tokely Dome :thumb04: .... or maybe, as teams should (and hopefully will) hate playing us here ... simply "The House of Pain" ... it was certainly that for fans during the Brewster era, and hopefully TB can make it like that for the opposition teams again.

time for a coffee :rotflmao:

Despite your best efforts i dont think TCS will ever be considered a fortress, fortresses like Hamburgs stadium are fortresses because the fans the make it that way not because they can think of a good name. If we make a hellish amount of noise then we could call it a fortress.

agreed - it should be the fans the opposition teams hate to face, not just the stadium!

st mirrens fans werent very noisy, especially after our goal. they perked up after jim hamilton scored, but after our winner nothing again. i dont want to be like that!!
