Not sure if others heard but Livvy FC is in darkness tonight for failing to pay their electricity bill. Once again Intelligent Finance. The SFL must be bricking themselves that even if Livvy scrape some money out of Dundee for Lee Griffiths that they might still fold if other creditors take similar action as Scottish Power.

Even worse from the Sun ''Lotto John: I blew ?10m'' His downfall began when he put ?4million into Livingston FC. He lost it all after the club went into administration. Once again Intelligent Finance.

Just take a look at their website and you can sense problems. No club structure, anyone who wants a game , turn up for training on 1 July which is a Wednesday but the day after the deadline set by the Council for stadium ownership issues to be resolved.

EDIT: I amended the title to give it a more general theme.

They just seem to jump from one financial mess to another. Maybe the whole concept of another team from Lothian is doomed or cursed. First it was Ferranti Thistle, DOOMED.....then became Meadowbank THistle, DOOMED and then became Livingston FC, seemingly CURSED

Thats something i would expect our board to say.

Can see them heading out of the 1st Division before a ball is even kicked.

Our league might only have 9 guaranteed teams tonight. Last week it was Scottish Power, this week Italian Power. Does anyone know why he actually bought the club?

Who in their right mind is going to find about ?500k to pay off debts and try and get players on the park for Livvy?

The SPL was able to keep Gretna afloat for a short spell but the SFL has perhaps a week to decide Livvy should be relegated to Div 3 and 2 unsuspecting teams promoted. Standby Spartans if Livvy implode!

Why would 2 teams be promoted if Livvy collapse?

I get it now, one to the second division and another to the third. But one to the first makes three doesn't it?

Todays D-day for Livi,be interesting to see what Massone decides to do now

D day for Livi

"...Massone told BBC Scotland that a fund-raising appeal to supporters only generated ?149.50":lol:

Its a farce, to be fair, its not Livvy's fault, it's the SFL. Its about time that some sort of vetting was put in place, Airdrie, Gretna, Livi, Hearts, can any sycophant with a large credit rating get a club and drive them down? Massone is a few sandwiches short and I feel for the Livi fans.

Livingston fans would get into bed with any old, greasy sneak wearing a suit waving a fistful of twenties in their faces. Their situation as it stands is hardly surprising and something that has been on the cards for some time now. Massolini was always going to turn out to be a charlatan.

How could the fans have prevented it RiG? They...like us, and fans at most clubs in this country have absolutely no say whatsoever in who's allowed to buy our clubs and what they do with them.

Must admit I am not exactly sure but a lot of Livi fans have rolled over far too often in the past as their club lurches from one catastrophe to another. Basically I feel they could stand up for themselves more but as you say at the end of the day fans hold little sway in the goings on higher up the food chain. They seem to be very easily taken for a ride, more so than fans of other clubs. It's only now that the majority are starting to see through Massolini and the rubbish he spouts whilst we have been saying it for ages. A bit like Gretna as they fell apart whilst limping over the finishing line in 06/07 (?).

EDIT: Livi are apparently going into administration at midnight (SSN).

As much as that, eh?

still no official word. But there is an announcement tomorrow from Scottish Power.

To be honest, Massone has a bl**dy cheek asking others to save his club..its your mess pal, so YOU SAVE IT

Livvy look in a bit of a state.

14 days to pay a range of creditors

No ground safety certificate!

One of the creditors is the Inland Revenue / Customs and Revenue.

The good news is that pre-season training has started today for players who have turned up!

Livingston dont still have strips with INTELLIGENT FINANCE across the front do they?

Does anyone know what livvy's average attandance is?

Another comical Livingston release:

http://www.livingstonfc.co.uk/news_010709_1.php

Like most Football Clubs, LFC has not been immune to pressures. We have endured many attempts to close us down, sidestepped many tactics to sabotage our games, constant threats of Administration, but through our Passion, Unity and Pride we have taken these challenges head on and battled on with sheer determination & commitment to survive.

:P

What a joke!!!!! the club will be saved if the owners pay the feckin bills.

No excuses no bullsh1t no feckin around

the fans obviously dont back the eyetye to save them.

This is a prime example of the arrogance which is rife among Football Club owners....they wade in to buy a club, run it as a play thing or some kind of penis extension for showing off to all their mates and then when they get bored and things aren'y going their way they expect the fans to cough up the cash to save the club.

I can think of no other business where they would even think about going to the customers to get the funds to rescue the business from a self inflicted financial hole.

That's why it's vital that fans at all clubs get proper representation at the proper levels of the business. If the owners want us to be bailing clubs out of trouble then they need to have proper governance and those being asked to fund things should have relevant input intop the decision making processes.

Fans are their own worst enemies because they fail to see this issue until it's too late and often find themselves battling against people like Massoni who are driven more by the power of owning a club than they are by the passion behind supporting the club.
