Chris Hughton sacked.

Very harsh imo, he guided them straight back to the premier league at a canter and they have had a decent start to the season.

Newcastle just never seem to learn.

Mike Ashley is such a git. IT's more than harsh - that's an owner who is out of control. The fans should have forced him out by now - he's a joke.

What a ******* ******* Ashley is. am well fooked off at him! toon are my english team! Hope he gets torn apart over this and driven out. AM FURIOUS!!

EH ?

Watch the thick gordie tw@ts campaign for some supposed "messiah" now.

I hope they get relegated again.

Great news as a Sundeland fan though :nanananana:

Do you think Colin Calderwood had an inkling that this was going to happen when he went to Hibs?

Very surprised at this decision but even more surprised that none of our fans have yet put Butcher in the frame for the job

very surprised at this. the results have been up and down a bit but when they have won they have been convincing. Wonder who the board are thinking of bringing in now? And will the fans call for Ashley to sell up once again? personally i wouldnt blame them

Martin Jol is being strongly suggested. Coincidentally, he quit at Ajax today.

Chris Hughton's sacking is an absolute disgrace imo. I guess Ashley wants a higher profile name to be in charge. Maybe he should try Shearer or Keegan again. That would see them slide down towards the relegation zone at a rate of knots, which is where I'd now like to see them end up.

Cant stand NUFC , they seem to think they're a big team yet have won next to nothing . The expectations of their support is similar to that of Aberdeens though at least Aberdeen have won some silverware in the distant past !

Looks like its going to be Alan Pardew according to BBC.

BBC Sport understands that Pardew was in talks with Newcastle about taking over at St James' Park as long as 10 days ago.

It is believed Pardew became close friends with Newcastle owner Mike Ashley and director Derek Llambias when all three were familiar faces at an exclusive London casino where Llambias was managing director.

I will LOVE IT if they get relegated.

Disgraceful.

I have a friend who is a Charlton fan (his Scottish team is ICT!) and he thinks Pardew is an awful mananger. I doubt very much they will do as well as they did with Hughton in charge.

Pardew's a decent manager but not a great one. I don't see a significant improvement, barring investment, than Hughton, who was doing pretty well for a team that was in the Championship last year.

Mike Ashley: Owner of NUFC

Llambias: Managing Director

Alan Pardew: Friend.

Three buddies looking after themselves. It's like Gazza, Chris Evans, and Danny Baker!!!

Absolute joke of a man, and board. They are parasites.

A brilliant decision by Ashley to replace Hughton with Pardew if this is true. This is of course the same Pardew who thought Hayden Mullins was a better midfielder than Javier Mascherano!
