Mckay called up for N.Ireland

Billy has been called up for N.Ireland for their away friendly in Cyprus next Wednesday.

Not ideal considering our back log of games, but well deserved recognition all the same.

Unfortunately, like Poland v. Scotland, it appears the game isn't being covered live by any of the TV stations

Deserved for Billy.

Well deserved but I hope they look after him.

Well done him but chances are he won't play and if he does it will only be for 20 minutes at best

listening to michael o.neill on sky not so long ago, i think billy could get a good run out this time round.

Billy is on the bench for this one.

Good. Is it bad to hope he just stays there?

I hope he is wrapped up in a nice warm jacket and track suit trousers. I hope he stays comfortable on that bench and then has an early night in the hotel before an uneventful flight home.

On a related note who are these lunatics bemoaning Shinnie not being called up for Scotland, just so he can travel to play in Poland in a pointless game, as we enter the busiest and most important part of the season. ICT > Scotland every day of the week.

Billy's on for the last half hour according to the BBC text updates

Substitution, Northern Ireland. Billy McKay replaces Jamie Ward.

And he's off again, sacrificed after McAuley's red card by the looks of it.

Mckay only got a wee run out by the look of it

15 minutes on the pitch.

According to BBC, NI haven't scored in an away friendly for 8 years.

Edit to add :  and Cyprus haven't scored a goal of any form for a year. So perhaps 0-0 was always the likely outcome.

Lets just hope he was sacrificed and not injured, 17 mins he lasted

According to sky sports news he was definately sacrificed! So we can breathe!

Isn't every sending off good for us if it is not an ICT player in an ICT match?
