As a supporter of ICT I would like to hear from our Directors and Manager what is going on at our club? Do we still have ambitions to win the Championship this season, or should we return to the Highland League?

It was quoted on the ICT website on the 13th of June that there was going to be a meet and greet open day for season ticket holders to meet players managers and directors pre season! Did I miss this or are they too scared to face the supporters now? So much for this new regime of openness.  The silence from the club,  unless they are selling a player or trying to sell hospitality, is deafening. 

On the day John Robertson was appointed, there was a pledge from the Chairman that communication would, as a priority, improve greatly. Clearly this hasn't happened, despite the ever increasing and obvious need for it to do so, so what has been preventing the delivery of a very public commitment?

Two of the clubs main communication channels, Twitter and Facebook, have been neglected in recent weeks (I've not checked this morning but last night neither were carrying news of the Draper story). It seems that not just communication with fans but modern day communication with the fans is something that those upstairs at the club have yet to grasp.

There will no doubt be an announcement in the local press or club website in time (Friday is it for the Courier?) however as you say probably a failure by those at the club to grasp that news breaks instantly in the new multi-media world - a sign new younger blood is needed in key roles with fresh ideas & outlook. Jut another example of being out of touch with the modern fan and their expected experience - both in and out of the stadium - its almost like the club has lost interest in us all. Maybe the lack of crowd bounce after the cup final made the club question 'why bother', afterall if you continue to try something and still see no results then it becomes disheartening and eventually give up?

Never mind Twitter and Facebook, the common courtesy of receiving a reply to a letter seems to have gone too.  I wrote a personal letter to Mr Finlayson on 12 June, (before Foran was sacked).   I mentioned this on another thread at the time and said I'd keep fellow posters up to date with any reply.  Needless to say, I suppose, but I have heard nothing from him, not even an acknowledgement that he' received my letter.

There is something on the club website but I am surprised that neither Facebook or Twitter have an update linking to this story. I know it's not much but those sites are modern day communication methods. To neglect them is strange especially when we have been so quick to make use of them in the past.

I sympathise with the club to a degree on your other point as you rightly point out there was little bounce from the cup win but I do wonder what was done to capitalise on it? I can't recall if the club did anything to build on that success or not? Certainly there was a good crowd at the Astra tie in Inverness which was great to see but league games didn't really see much improvement crowd wise which was a real shame.

If I remember when he was appointed he said he would happily speak to fans with questions.

Now that would be much better fun playing back in the highland league. Might still happen, give it 3 0r 4 years

The amount of silly money flying around some parts of the Highland League might actually make progress there quite difficult!

And it is still going on!

Finmack and Gringo very much echo my own concern. On the day John Robertson was unveiled as the new manager and on other occasions, the Chairman made a definite commitment to improve communication and extend openness. Since then, the huge, pre-existing need to do this has actually increased but absolutely nothing of substance has emerged - apart from (at least?) four spectacular Public Relations own goals. (An utterly crass statement about season tickets, the incredibly poor handling of the sacking of Duncan Shearer, the totally unnecessary highlighting of Porngate and the equally unnecessary highlighting of the Ross Draper transfer request leading to the embarrassment of two conflicting versions of same going head to head in the public domain.)

When the commitment to improve is made, the need to do so increases but still nothing is done about it, it is inevitable that, in its search for an explanation, fans and the public will include worst case scenarios among their thinking.

Mr Finlayson. If you read this All ICT supporters are waiting to hear from you. Can you tell us when we will receive some words of comfort on our clubs future?

Forget letters to the Chairman and social media - this forum included - I think it's time for a good old fashioned open letter in our local rag. If the club doesn't respond to that then I think many of the loyal fans will walk away.
