CLUB STATEMENT : Supporter Behaviour at Brechin

Following the unacceptable conduct of a small group of “supporters” at our Championship League game against Brechin last Saturday (26th August), the Club can now advise that discussions have taken place with both Brechin City Football Club and Police Scotland, with the view to identifying those supporters whose conduct was unacceptable, including those who were ejected from the Brechin City Football Ground.

The evidence secured to date includes both video and still footage taken at the match and written reports received from both Brechin City and Police Scotland.

The Club is currently collating this evidence with the view of issuing banning orders against those whose conduct has proved to be unacceptable.

As we have stated in the past and reiterate again here, ICTFC will not tolerate unacceptable conduct at Tulloch Caledonian Stadium or away football stadia. Unacceptable conduct is conduct which is deemed violent or disorderly. Violent Conduct includes any actual, attempted or threatened physical violence against any person or intentional damage to property.

I think this has just about been done to death with all views fully aired.

We have an important match tomorrow. Maybe time to unite, whatever our differences of opinion, and concentrate on the football.

Is there a match on tomorrow?  Who would have thought

This is a somewhat watershed moment for some fans I think. Those in trouble who accept that some of their behaviour was out of order will, either on their own or as a group, will return. If they don't come then they were simply there to cause trouble and won't be missed.

I suppose off topic, but in my lifetime - Liverpool fans wrecked trains. Scotland Supporters wrecked  a part of Wembley, Millwall fans created havoc,

West Ham fans knifed  vising supporters , I could go on,  People at Brechin did wrong, But what do you want, Charles , put them in Stocks, burn them on a stake, flog them in public ?

Let's move on, I am just glad I am not a parent of one of the boys. I feel a lot of  their Mum's and Dad's are trying to get their heads around this aspect, which will surely affect family life.

Maybe counselling by friends and relations will help.

I would settle for locking them in a room for two hours with a continuous tape loop of Proclaimers records

Should be locked in a classroom and made to write a 5,000 word review of 'Up Stephen's Brae' IMHO.

So long as there's several thousand other Proclaimers fans in the room, that sounds like a great gig!

I'm only 24 but that clown video may have taken quite a few years off of my lifespan.

The damage to seats and the Supporters Bus is inexcusable. The Young Team may have to appreciate that they will be under far more scrutiny in the Championship and smaller crowds than they ever were in the Top League. But I am reliably informed that there has been a police presence at Brechin a few years ago and apparently fans have given false names at Tannadice and Easter Road.

Glad to see the board backtracking.

The bus thing dissappinted me the most. You don't sh*t where you eat.

Decent people, whatever their age, simply don't deliberately damage property belonging to others. It's wholly mindless and unacceptable.

I think you should read it again.

I don't think the board are backtracking at all - think they are giving these guys a second chance, which they would be well advised to take.

The neddish behaviour is completely out of order, personally, I think Graeme Rae is being fairly magnanimous here.

Going to a game & vandalising seats/buses & online abuse is something these guys could end up with a criminal record for - nobody wants that. Hopefully the ban has made them realise that 'actions have consequences' that could have been worse for them.

If the ban is lifted, after this dialogue, they cone back, enjoy the game (although in fairness, that's hard to for any of us right now!) & behave themselves, that's the best outcome.
