September 3, 200718 yr Which song should ICT run out to? I thought that "Layla" worked quite well at the Dundee United game but what does everyone else think and what are your suggestions?
September 5, 200718 yr Worked that time anyway. Was staying in Riof/Reef last week but never saw the great man this time.
September 5, 200718 yr Thunderstruck by ACDC I was going to suggest that too and 100% concur! The intro to the song is absolutely ideal and something fans can easily chant along to in a menacing style. You don't even have to like AC/DC to see that this song would be great. A lot of sports teams in the US come out to this.
September 5, 200718 yr Oh, but let me tell you that I love you That I think about you all the time Caledonia you're calling me And now I'm going home If I should become a stranger You know that it would make me more than sad Caledonia's been everything I've ever had
September 5, 200718 yr Caledonia by frankie miller The title says it all B-) Caledonia is by Dougie Maclean who does a much better version of it than Frankie Miller :003:
September 5, 200718 yr Naaaah..... Ok... Dougie McLean wrote the song - but it didn't do very much until Frankie Miller got a hold of it and turned it into one of the best examples of Scottish Soul you are ever likely to come across.... Incredible performance by an incredible performer.... :clapping03: :clapping03:
September 5, 200718 yr GLAD ALL OVER by DAVE CLARK FIVE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZpR5VgAGjiI GREAT SONG!!!!
September 5, 200718 yr I don't think we need go hunting for anything specific...when the right tune comes along we'll all just know it's meant to be. In the meantime though a bit of creativity wouldn't go amiss.
September 6, 200718 yr Oh, but let me tell you that I love you That I think about you all the time Caledonia you're calling me And now I'm going home If I should become a stranger You know that it would make me more than sad Caledonia's been everything I've ever had Its a cracker , i like Frankie Millers version , now who's gonna print out at least 4,000 copys of the words so we can all sing it ?
September 7, 200718 yr Anybody remember the ad (Tennents?) with the guy in London who chucks his briefcase in the bin and comes back to Scotland? All to the strains of Frankie Miller and 'Caledonia'.
September 7, 200718 yr the song "things can only get better" i feel thats the correct song for our current situation
September 7, 200718 yr Caledonia is the best suggested so far but how about getting our mate Elton John to it for us,
September 8, 200718 yr Frankie Miller aka Grassa Bennett :024: .... or maybe not I don't know if it should be played when the players run onto the pitch but certainly at some point before every game to see if it sticks.. we need some sort of anthem and this fits the bill perfectly If the board were very clever they would get someone from the area to re-record it and sell the single in the shop..
September 8, 200718 yr The laughing policeman The words of the chorus are printed below using the latest modern graphic technology :015: :015: :015: :015: :015: :015: :015: :015: :015: :015: :015: :015: :015: :015: :015: :015: :015: :015: :015: :015: :015: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: I know a fat old policeman He's always on our street A fat and jolly red-faced man He really is a treat He's too kind for a policeman He's never known to frown And everybody says He is the happiest man in town! He laughs upon point duty He laughs upon his beat He laughs at everybody When he's walking in the street He never can stop laughing He says he's never tried But once he did arrest a man And laughed until he cried! His jolly face is wrinkled And then he shut his eyes He opened his great big mouth It was a wonderous size! He said: "I must arrest you!" He didn't know what for And then he started laughing Until he cracked his jaw! So if you chance to meet him While walking 'round the town Shake him by his fat ol' hand And give him half a crown His eyes will beam and sparkle He'll gurgle with delight And then you'll start him laughing With all his blessed might! :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: that should cheer us up on a cold winters afternoon :003:
September 8, 200718 yr Naaaah..... Ok... Dougie McLean wrote the song - but it didn't do very much until Frankie Miller got a hold of it and turned it into one of the best examples of Scottish Soul you are ever likely to come across.... Incredible performance by an incredible performer.... :clapping03: :clapping03: Just to set the record straight. Dougie MacLean wrote and performed the song. An advertising company decided to use it and, contrary to the permissions allowed, chose to revamp it and use Frankie Millar to sing it. The resultant court battle was, I believe, eventually settled out of court. For me the only way the song should be sung is the way the writer wanted it.
September 8, 200718 yr Good to see the Hampden crowd responding so vociferously to Frankie Miller's Caledonia.... I don't think there would have been much response to the Dougie McLean insipid dirge like version.... :024: :023:
