  1. Considering there's been a lot of whinging about how we haven't adequately replaced Adam Rooney, and how we don't have an adequate goal threat, and that Tade isn't a 'natural goalscorer' (whatever the hell that means), I thought it might be interesting to compare Rooney from last season against Tade from this season: Rooney in 2010/11 All competitions: 21 goals in 42 games (41 starts, 1 as sub) SPL: 15 goals in 38 games (37 starts, 1 as sub) Tade in 2011/12 All competitions: 6 goals in 15 games (13 starts, 2 as sub) SPL: 6 goals in 14 games (13 starts, 1 as sub) Note that Rooney's goals included 7 penalties, 5 of which were in the league. So he only scored 10 goals from open play in the SPL last season. Tade is, in fact, only 4 goals away from equalling Rooney's total in open play for the whole of last season in the SPL!

  3. Just try and take the smile of my face...i dare you! What a terrific attacking display, a game that even at 1-0 down we were well on top off. Killie took the lead against the tun of play and right on half time Andrew Shinnie scores a cracking shot from a tight angle and we deservedly hit half time level. What followed was the greatest 20 minutes ive experienced in my young life as an ICT fan. Kenny Shiels was very naive to let such an inexperienced left back spend the afternoon against Jonny Hayes and it hurt them as Jonny cut in and scored a terrific shot from about 25 yards, a few minutes later Shinnie curls in another, followed by a terrific run and finish by Tade and to round of the rout Davis goes on a rampant run before Shinnie takes over and completes his hat trick. No debate about the penalty and didnt even see the 3rd goal. This could be the real turning point for us, we've been waiting to give someone a hammering and this was what came. There seemed to be more of an understanding as well, paticularly in midfield and attack, some of the passing and runs were wonderful and was an indication of the strides we are making. Pick of the bunch was Davis, he ran himself ragged from box to box today, got involved in a scrap but didnt let it affect his play and his relentless run which led to Shinnie's 3rd goal was nothing short of brilliant. Imho his twitter comments may be irritating to some but this boy has been a great addition to our midfield and has shown he has what it takes to succeed at this club. If possible we have to keep him until the end of the season. 2 concerns from today, one is that our defence is still very fragile, Killie produced very little today but still managed to find 3 goals. Once Hogg and Piermayr return we need to get this defence as settled as possible in order to improve it. The other is Tansey, showed great energy and a hunger to get forward today but he is far too concerned about playing the perfect pass and his set pieces were incredibly average too, he needs to keep it simple. So to sum up, incredible day out and one which will never be repeated for a while. A game that has really put the spirit back in the team and i think too in the fans, so well done to the lads and more of the same please.

  5. I thought that Tades second v Killie was a classic strikers goal. Perhaps just somewhere there is a portion of his footballing brain connected to his foot, and that like rooney/wyness etc given time he will score heaps more

  6. been very impressed with Tade...... his work rate alone must make him one of the first names on the team sheet.

  7. We have used that same 4-2-3-1 formation and it won us the First division. It does work well against bigger teams where we can counter and move the two wide men of the attacking midfield upfront to make a kind of 4-2-1-3

  8. My priority would be to get David Davis for another 6 months We need a centre back that can fill in for tokely and Hogg when their out There is plenty quality in our squad just it's not very big we need to sign decent cover for injured players

  11. I've got an idea. Why don't all the SPL teams go into administration, get the debts cleared off their books and then start with a clean slate - and with every team getting the same 10 point penalty, nobody is actually worse off! (Well, apart from the creditors that is, but since when did fans care about them.)

  12. An attacking 4-3-3 for me - Esson Meekings Tokely Hogg Gillet Davis Tansey Foran Tade A.Shinnie Hayes Subs - Tuffey, Golobart, G.Shinnie, Chippendale, Piermayr, Cox, Sutherland Hogg has to come straight back in IMO. Celtic have seem to a have very dodgy defence these days, so three strikers to press high up the pitch.

  13. 4-2-3-1 4-3-3 and 4-5-1 are the same formation All then have 4 defenders 3 centre midfeilders usually 2 holding the other in the hole 2 wingers given freedom and 1 striker At the end of the day if calling it a 4-3-3 gets us 6 goals every week that's what I'm calling it

Administration pending, unless... How can we go from SupercaleygoballisticCelticareatrocious in the year 2000, to Scottish Cup Winners in 2015, playing in Europe and just 9 years after lifting the Cup; Administration. Mismanagement and our demise was hastened by the appointment of Scot Gardiner. Ever since then, ludicrous decision making has seen our stock plummet whilst 'shady' dealings were investigated. The failed Concert Company, the Battery Storage, the Statkraft contract have all ended badly leaving the club facing insolvency.

That's another fine mess you've got us into.

      Chairman Ross Morrison resigns

Nothing official from the club as we speak, but the Inverness Courier are running with a story that Ross Morrison has resigned at 18:00 tonight 3rd June.  More to come as this story develops, but most fans are looking for more heads to roll.

Speaking exclusively to The Inverness Courier, Mr Morrison said he is leaving now because of the aftermath of the Fife move. “I believe it [the move to Fife] is the best way forward and I have to stick with my beliefs,” Mr Morrison said. “This is the reason I'm stepping down now.”

Reflecting on his time with the Caley Thistle, Mr Morrison said: “My six-year tenure with the club has had some great and some not so great times but through everything I was immensely proud to be the chairman of the club and clubs I’ve supported for 50 years - I was a Jaggie by the way.

“I would ask the fans to rally round the club at this time and show their support by not only purchasing their season tickets but also getting involved directly with the club to see how they can help.

“Hearing fans saying they would prefer administration to training the first team in Kelty sent a shiver down my spine. Administration is a desperate thing to happen to a club and must, at all cost, not happen to ICTFC.”
