Grant Munro has gone. There are a number of reasons why. Reasons that all party's would probably like put behind them. The bottom line is Grant and ICT parted company and have both moved forward since then. Thats the way it is and the way it will always be and nothing can be done to change that. Terry Butcher is a professional and I'm quite sure, if it is merited, he will speak very positively about Grant as he would about any good performance. Its time some of the fans of our club stopped dwelling on what has been, could have been, may have been and looked to the future.
  2. The tinks dont need a new stadium - let the cnuts travel to Aberdire - the travellers will love it. At least we have a dump on the outskirts of a city whereas the gudgies have a dump in a dump of a town.
  3. we are one of very few teams that dont go down easy, dont take dives and always try to earn our points. that is to be comended not pissed on because not everything goes our way. i believe its something butcher has drilled into the side that we have to earn our points and not cheat our way to them and i respect it and i think we as a club demand respect for it.
  4. I see they are in contact with Manchester based administrators Duff & Phelps: http://news.stv.tv/scotland/west-central/297509-hmrc-moves-to-put-rangers-into-administration/ A little bit of irony that a Manchester based firm gets to clean up their mess after they trashed the city a few years back!
  5. For christ sake dougal dry your eyes. Its not a stadium that makes a team. Its not a stadium that gels players and fans. Its not a stadium that brings success. Its a heart and its a soul. This has to be the first time in all the forums, reports and blogs that I've ever read where a stupid playground debate like this one has come up. A classic case of na na na na my stadiums better than yours.
  6. And Hearts edge out Perth 2-1 after extra time. Looks like County will have to think again if they want to compete at a different level. If they rested players then that is because the cup took it's toll on them a season or two ago and they would rather go up to the spl than have a cup run knacker them. Fancy stadiums win nothing and empty seats would be on show, only 2,334 to watch them against spl opposition. Aye, best club in the Highlands on and off the park right eenuff mun.
  7. Terry doing a great job on open all mics!
  8. Should've asked them for our share of ticket sales 3 years in advance.
  9. Latest News Rangers FC are in talks with Heart of Midlothian FC about a possible merger. Sources have indicated that the new club will have an even longer name than Inverness Caledonian Thistle. This new club will be registered as Heart of Midlothian Rangers Club (HMRC)
  10. Great news today to be honest, to a point. The only sad thing is that they are probably going to get away with this financial miss-management and robbing tax from the very country all sing a rave about each week. Can you imagine an extra £75 million in the NHS coffers? Instead they will be deducted 10 points, finish second, where they would have anyway and managed to squirm away from the full amount. They need to be severely punished to set an example. I certainly couldn't rack up £100 in unpaid tax let alone £75 million! Demoted to div 3 at the very least. Rule Britannia and all that
  11. Is it not also the case that SKY salespeople are hitting their sales targets and therefore more and more past/prospective fans are able to sit in the comfort of their home as an option? Early kick off, adverse weather, make the most of £52 per month Sky payment, may all have taken their toll on the numbers at the match. How to overcome it? Manage expectations - we are a wee club with a wee fan base and are performing like it some games and like world beaters the next - this is part of the romance (not a bad word for the 14th Feb eh!) of supporting this club. Expect great play from them each week? Stand back and wonder why they are up here in the Highlands plying their trade instead of the English lower reaches where they would be paid a darned site more. We are what we are ... magic, crap but always, always surprising!! Not a bad reason to support them!!
  12. If they get punished like Livingston then nothing will happen. The SPL did not deduct any points from Livi, it was the SFL which added the punitive 'demotion' punishment after they were relegated from the SPL and when they could not guarantee to fulfill fixtures .... The SPL put rules in place after the Motherwell, Dundee and Livi administrations so that future teams going into administration were fined 10 points, hence the reason Gretna had that sanction placed on them, and like Livi, the punitive additional sanctions were only added after they had left the SPL through relegation and dropped into the SFL. If however, they get punished like Livingstone then malaria and dysentry may indeed be the end of them !!!
  13. Havent a feckin clue but I have ascertained how Terry picks the team.
  14. It's at times like this you realise just how screwed up the world we live in really is. Not one person here arguing that Rangers going to the wall would be a disaster for football or heritage reasons....it's all "let's forgive them for screwing the public purse out of 10's of millions because they bring a few quid through our door". That's all a bit like saying drugs are bad but they should be kept because addicts need them, and you can deal it on my doorstep so long as I get a the odd wee pay off!!! Maybe our economy might be just a little bit better and we'd be getting a few more bums on seats across the whole of the game if Rangers didn't think they were above the need to pay their dues and that money....together with the incomes it relates too....had been paid and spent where they were earned and not hived off into offshore accounts.
  15. What a bizarre post, you don't want to see any club go belly up and you believe that Scottish football needs it's older clubs???? I suggest you take a look at our own doorstep as the formation of ICT was the result of two clubs going belly up and ceasing to exist I do agree however that there will be some legal loop hole unearthed that will allow the Orcs to carry on in the SPL without a name change or at the very least a Rangers 2012 I personally would like them thrown out of the SPL and them made to start again in the Third division providing the SFL would accept them in the first place Better still would be if they were liquidated and this lead to Celtic going off to England If County go up next season we will enjoy two capacity attendances at TCS something we wouldn't have had with the Orcs We would generate more money from County and I can guarantee Sky would be televising a couple of highland derbies Dougal
  16. See if this was the first time he'd done this I'd see where you're coming from but he does it on a monthly basis. Finds some aspect of the club to moan about, be it commericalism and how we dont do enough, how we dont have a multi storey club shop, a, jewel encrusted car park, a stadium bar more popular than shearers, why we haven't got Messi on the other flank to Hayes yet and now why our stadium doesn't have another stand. It's constant beration of the club and perhaps if he occasionally had a nice think to say about it people might take his bashing more seriously than irritable goading. On the subject matter. I'd much rather see the main stand fully roofed and not have those 2 stupid bits hanging out at the sides. Then perhaps look into terracing the empty side. Perhaps use the tower as a crowd divider of some sorts. That way you could maybe even have home and away safe standing, and suitably segregated by a ruddy big pillar and catering/toilets etc. Either way it might not be the most asthetically pretty stadium, or hold the best atmosphere (more to do with the support given away fans often make a lot more noise with fractional amounts.) but I'll ask one thing. Can you name a better view from any other stadium in Scotland? (not looking at the city obviously)
  17. Just for Rangers game, this little ditty? To fools and Horses tune No Income tax, No VAT, No comming back, no RFC, Red and Blue, Rich now poor, Cut price players, in a fire sale God bless Cragie Whyte, Viva the taxman, Long live ICT, Say pay your debt, Rangers, Say pay your debts, Rangers :ictscarf: :ictscarf:
  18. For me the issue is not about the site and all the past politics about that, it is what we have put on the site that is the problem. I agree with Alex that its the heart and soul that makes the club but I just think we would have a bit more heart and soul as a club if we had a ground with a bit more heart and soul. Unfortunately it looks as though we are stuck with it. Don't realy see the point of the favourite pasttime of Dougal bashing here. He is stating the Highland's 2nd best team will have the Highland's best stadium. Can't see any argument with that.
  19. No point to this thread as Tinkerville will bottle it fer shure.
  20. Donjo, ICT and RCFC arguing about away supports is like two bald men fighting over a comb. Our supports are about the same, usually one busload and some central belters. I've actually been at one or two C(o)unty games (not this season) and I say claims of 350 are rubbish, but if it's true then fair enough. As Luke says it was probably the Falkirk game, and we had some cracking supports ourselves in div 1. One thing I remember, (OK it's 10 years ago) when we played Hearts in the cup in 2002 they actually got County the round before us and I went along with Naelifts as our game was off. They beat County quite easily though it was only 2-1, and County had about 1500 sweetie rustlers who sat on their hands all day. When they drew ICT in the next round they probably thought it would be another walkover. Unfortunately for them, we took 2500 and lifted the roof off the place in the rain. On the park ICT blew the Jambos away 3-1. That's the difference. County are having a bit of glory this season but ICT have always been winners.
  21. A twenty foot high hoarding running the length of the pitch on the west side with a full stand mural painted on it would give aa better effect than a new empty stand
  22. Could we not connect the gas up & form a deflatable bouncy castle type stand !
