At the end of the day, I am not bothered by the terms offered -- that is between Tokely and Butcher/Club -- and to be frank, a little bit personal to the topic of discussion under our site rules. Whether he is offered 50%, 100% or 200% of his current wages is really none of our business and I am not going to get drawn into that ..... and would politely ask that posters respect some of the more personal aspects of this and other contract details they may hear via gossip or even from players/friends etc during the close season ..... My main point in all of this discussion is about performance, and based on comments made and votes received this season, I firmly believe that Ross Tokely can still do a job for our club in the SPL and he should be offered a contract on that basis and that basis alone. The secondary point I am making, and its secondary nature may be getting lost in all the chatter .... is that I believe he has shown extreme loyalty to the club in his time here and the aforesaid loyalty should afford him a certain degree of respect from the club in negotiations over a contract. Call it favouritism if you like, call it treating him differently because of his loyalty if you like ... but the simple fact of the matter is that after 16 years at the club he has earned that right in my personal opinion. We have never had a player stay so long at ICT and probably never will again .. that makes his situation 'special' and one which should be handled appropriately. He will stop playing for ICT at some point, and I would hope that everyone concerned would actually work out an exit strategy for that rather than closing the book abruptly. In sixteen years he has played hundreds of times for thousands of us and many of us have seen both the good and the bad of RT ... but when he goes, the fans and the player should be afforded the courtesy of a proper goodbye ..... I will be hugely disappointed if he is not in the squad next season, and doubly disappointed if the comments already made in this thread prove to be the reason why (and we all know the reasons will surface in the end regardless of any spin that is attempted on either side). I know I will not be alone in that feeling as his exit from ICT - whenever it happens - will truly be the end of an era and it may be a lot more emotional for some than the club, the manager, or even the player realise !6 points

Why don't Rangers just boycott Scottish football entirely and for eternity thus saving us all from this never ending sh*te.2 points

The build up and anticipation of this one is better than I can recall for any non-ICT match in many years. I enjoyed John Robertson on a Radio Scotland panel the other night when a Hearts fan asked "Is there enough time for you to get fit by Saturday?" and Robbo replies "I've seen this Hibs team, I wouldn't need to get fit!"2 points

Bottom line: "I don't think I have the divine right to start every week but I should definitely get the chance to do that and if not then I'll look to get out and play somewhere else."2 points

That's a surprise, I expected him to jump at the chance to stay at this level. Maybe he's thinking his hometown team Nantes haven't done so well recently and he can replace Sylvain Wiltord if the right people get to see his goal at Motherwell. Should one of us stick a compilation of his worst misses up on You Tube? What's the maximum file size?2 points

Sorry but I think you are being taken in by TB spin. What respect did he show to Munro, none and I don't doubt for a minute he would do the same to Tokely2 points

I must admit I liked this tweet from @jonnyhayes7 "haha Snoball your a wind up merchant!! Couldn't sign for county be like goin from man city to rochdale! ;)"2 points

Really dont care who wins, but hope its a good entertaining game and acts as an advert for Scottish football that can highlight how good the game can be without the OF and their baggage for a change. Oddly whenever its a OF V a.n.other final I never want to see it but this one like County V DUtd, Hearts V Gretna etc I will make an effort to watch. Think it will be a Jambo day with Skacel & Beattie (2) doing the damage to a O'Connor reply - 3-11 point

Considering Butcher once said 'he'd have a full team of ross tokely's' in his first season with us, I can't see how he'd in any way show rosscoe any sort of disrespect by not at least offering him a contract which he thought was at least fair. Offering him better terms for 'loyalty' is, in my mind, stupid. Loyal players are awarded with testimonials. He's had that! Rosscoe had the chance to move for money when a turkish club came in for him. He didn't go and has continued to do well for us since. Unfortunately I dont see him as a regular starter this season, much the same as when Golly and McBain slowly but surely lost their places to younger, fitter players.1 point

I sometimes wish that my second sight was not so powerful. It looks like the "master plan" may have been to offload Rosscoe to free up the spondoolachs to offer Johnny and improved deal. The responsible muppets have now probably ended up losing them both. Rangers are going to have a stronger squad than us at this rate !!1 point

Does a certain Hat Trick count? :P Aberdeen in March (1-0 win) and St Mirren away (1-0 win) were my personal fave's. Mostly because the stewards allowed the banter to flow and we could enjoy the atmosphere. In terms of performance I'd say, of the games I attended, was when we played Hearts in september. Not because I scored at half time, but because we out-played them for most of the match and looked like a 'team' rather than a group of individuals.1 point

christ would be a great signing now if he got a cruciate injury perhaps it would only be a case of 3 day to recover But like many footballers, he's just not as good as his father. Christ, yeah he might restore some faith in the team. I heard he can move around the pitch in mysterious ways but doesn't deal with crosses well.1 point

The club have been in touch with me this morning and asked that I post the following on their behalf.... Capital Caley: We are not sure what his source of information is or the reasons behind his post on Gavin are, but the facts are as follows: No fees are involved, the club (ICTFC) are paying his wage, so we are "not saving money". It is certainly not about money and we see this as an investment in his future and an opportunity to broaden his experience. The reason he has been given this opportunity is exactly as the manager stated to allow him to get that experience. The manager (as stated in the press last week) thinks Gavin has a big future (with our club) but requires to get games under his belt. He is not out in Iceland so we can sell him on, he is worth more to the club as a player than any compensation/ development fees we would ever get at this stage of his career. As stated above he needs competitive games and the Icelandic opportunity came up and suits all parties including Gavin who jumped at the chance. If Capital Caley wants to pop in to the stadium for a chat on this please feel free to do so.1 point
