  1. It appears that only 3,500 tickets have been sold so far which to me seems disappointing - only 700 per day on what you would expect to be the busiest days for selling tickets. If we can't get people to support the team now then we never will. I have a business in the central belt and will happily contribute £1,000 to pay for train and match tickets for 40 school kids and 4 adults. I've been in touch with my old school this morning to organise this. Surely there must be hundreds of similar businesses around (or with a link to) Inverness that could do the same? If 50 companies did this then that's another 2,000 youngsters, some of whom just might get hooked on supporting the team. Being in the central belt I'm not connected in the Inverness business community but if anyone does have business contacts can you suggest to them that they do the same?
  2. Is it true we've been allocated the bottom left hand corner of the inside back page...?
  3. If this was a final v. a central belt club, then I reckon there'd be no bother with arranging enough buses. But as the Dons have a large support attending and had 24hours further notice than us of their place in the final, there will have been a huge uptake of buses from the north being booked out by Dons fans. The only other option is getting buses to drive from the central belt Sunday AM, to pick up fans from Inverness, to then go back to Glasgow, then back up to Inverness to then go back to central belt again. All this will make the cost of bus travel much more expensive than normal away games. Would we be able to fill a bus at £30-50 pp with no child discounts? I'm not so sure...
  4. I suspect the same. The more I hear about the merger process and the ambitions and ideas tabled at the time, the more I'm convinced the whole project was hijacked by clueless idiots at each stage. Especially with regards the stadium design, cost and location. I wonder if we would have stayed and developed Telford Street had we known a Victoria Park sized site was all that we required? I don't think the 10,000 seat rule was in place until later but I'm sure somebody will correct me on that. CH2... I have to say that your statement is complete rubbish and you clearly speak from the position of a severe lack of knowledge about what happened at the time. We have already discussed stadium location and its limited options earlier in the thread. So given the circumstances behind the choice, obtaining funding was extremely difficult, especially given the planing requirements imposed by HRC (including a £1.3 million road) and that in turn imposed serious constraints on the design. I really don't think you have any clue as to the difficulties which faced the founding fathers of ICT and wonder on what basis of evidence you dismiss them as "clueless idiots"? Whether or not the 10,000 seat rule was in place in 1994 (it wasn't) is irrelevant, since developing Telford Street on a permanent basis simply wasn't an option. For instance remember (or maybe you don't) that it was even rejected as a venue for the March 1996 Scottish Cup quarter final against Rangers which went to Tannadice. Renegade, you are absolutely right about Kingsmills Park. The original plan was to play there until the new stadium was ready and to sell Telford Street for which there was a £750,000 offer on the table (it eventually went for £1 million). Kingsmills (the park, not the CTO contributor ) was duly surveyed by the SFL in the autumn of 1993 as part of their application process and it was on the basis of that temporary home that the club was elected in January 1994. However two other factors intervened. Firstly Kingsmills (where the away dressing room was a standing joke - or would have been if it hadn't been in such a state) was fundamentally unsuitable for the SFL. Secondly the assets wrangle meant that Telford Street wasn't going to be sellable in the foreseeable future, so they decided to use that instead.
  5. As previously stated a pretty mediocre deal accepted at the depths of the recession. Not comfortable, in any event, with a shirt sponsor who attempts to meddle in the boardroom.
  6. I rang up to get 6 on Tuesday afternoon and it took me about 20 minutes of recalling to get through to the ticket office so it must be busy. Remember there is still 2 weeks until the game so if half of the initial allocation has gone then it may not take long now the general sale is in full swing to move to the original allocation and hopefully beyond. If people want to miss this massive occasion then that is there loss, great if we can get a big crowd but ive got mine so bring on the big day
  7. If fans are gauranteed a seat on a bus they are more likely to buy tickets for the final. At the moment buses seem to be in short supply although the supporter trust are doing their best to increase the number. It's great to get younger fans down to the final but they usually need to be taken by an adult . The trains don't suit everyone with the walking involved. Ok I sound a bit negative but more buses will probably increase ticket sales and boost our crowd. ( rant over c'mon ICT )
  8. Yo Sushi! or Wagamama. Maybe if they merged, we could have Yo Mama!
  9. Donald Trump, he has a Highland connection and he must be getting really sick of Aberdonians by now.

I'm delighted with the pricing policy for this one. Just a pity it's not a Saturday 1500 KO!
