  5. As a loyal caley fan I was completely mortified at our fans singing about brittains wife jumping off the kessock bridge. Having a newborn baby Is hard enough without depression. This girl has been through hell and as a mother I cannot imagine sitting at a football match listening to mindless idiots singing about my personal and very difficult circumstances. Shame on you all !

    I wasn't being serious!
  7. You may think you like your malts but like caleyboy says, you don't actually know what you ike unless you are a professional whisky taster. So let's not think we know what whisky tastes like and leave it to the professionals to tell us what we like.
  8. Yes, there is a strong belief that people would rather cycle than go to our games, thanks to the merger.

  14. Time for everybody to wind their necks in. Get back to the topic and less personal point scoring. Of course we don't need this sort of behaviour associated with the club. I'm almost frightened to ask, but we have topics on the forums that get fed back to the club. Maybe someone that is in the know or witnessed the events could post on the feedback to the club thread and it would then be brought up with officials that will take it further. http://caleythistleonline.com/forum/132-ask-the-club/

We stared out with a 4-2-3-1 formation Draper, C Brown Cooper J Brown Howarth, Williams Polworth, Sutherland Christie Ross, Evans. Bench: Mackay, Wilson, Rennie, McCarthy. The first half was battled in the centre of the park with ICT dominating it creating good passages of play just not being able to hit the final shot, where as Hearts when they had the ball always seemed to make the most of it, even with Heart's striker Paul MacCallum (on loan from West Ham), Hearts couldn't break through our defence. By the looks of it when it came to corners or other set pieces that we were defending Duncan Shearer wanted Cooper to be taking control and make sure everyone was where they were suppose to be. The first half ended 0-0 with both teams needing to regroup and see how they could score. The second half started and ICT dominated from the start, 15 minutes into the second half Ali Sutherland finished off a great footballing goal and netting from 12 yards out, ICT then went onto control the rest of the second half, on the 74th minute Jamie Wilson (who had come on for Adam Evans just before) made a darting run into the box and netted after a through ball into the box by Sutherland (i think) and netted from 6 yards. Near the end of the game Hearts starting pushing and without our keeper Nick Draper then chances are they might have gotten a consolation goal. Draper had a great game and in the last 10 minutes he made 2/3 outstanding saves. It finished 2-0 ICT with a lot of positives from it, the young lads a few might not do much after us but there were a few who played brilliantly. From the first team we had Danny Williams and Nicky Ross and contrary to what ICTRoughi has said i feel Nicky had the better game, he was mainly covering Calum Howarth who was playing at LB while still trying to push forward, where as i feel Williams could have been better played on the wing instead of the holding midfield role but they both had a really good engine but i think when Williams was subbed he wasn't too happy about it cause he didn't even look at Shearer where as the rest got handshakes from him when they came off.

As the post above says it was 2-0 to ICT in a dominant performance from the U20s. The first half was pretty uneventful in truth with both teams attacking each other but struggled to find the net. The second half started off much more livelier than the first with Ali Sutherland popping up to score an opener for ICT. I felt that Adam Evans had a good game today and the thing I like about Evans is that he can hold the ball up well but I felt he could have benefited with a second striker up front with him. As time was rolling on Evans eventually got subbed and we brought on Jamie Wilson. I thought he had a good game while he came on with some bright spells and eventually getting on the scoresheet to make it 2-0 to ICT. Nick Ross and Danny Williams both played today and I thought that Williams had the better game of the two. Williams played in the holding midfield role and I think he is starting to get used to it now. he was bursting with so much energy through the middle - Yogi will be happy with that! Nick Draper had the best of games that I have seen of him since he joined. He made two excellent acrobatic saves to keep a clean sheet today - I can see what Marsella liked about him. Despite the score today I thought that Hearts passed the ball well along the deck but I think defensively we were much better than them. Hearts had Paul McCallum (West Ham Loanee) up front but I thought Matthew Cooper and Jason Brown contained him very well and he didn't trouble them much. Overall good home performance for the U20s today!

    There's a "Butcher Out" thread on the go @ Hibs.net http://www.hibs.net/showthread.php?281426-Butcher-out
  18. I've never got the impression that Yogi wants to abandon the attacking game...far from it. He just views the squad as having the potential to play it on the deck with a bit more pace and style than his predecessor. He's been saying for weeks that it's all about finding the balance and that balance was found in the match in Dingwall. The challenge now is to use that to build confidence in the squad and have them believing they can do that on a regular basis. I don't think he has tried to change things as much as some people make out...although he has had a lot of change forced upon him through injury, suspension and schedule. The exact same thing happened to TB and will doubtless happen to us again in future. The difference now is that we have almost a full squad that has some match experience and is ready to take to the field when called upon. We also have a manager with more than one idea as to how the team can be set up to either overcome problems with injury/suspension or counter opposition tactics. Did anyone else see the fixture congestion coming back at the start of December? That is when Yogi would have been forming his plan for the remainder of the season. Not saying you can't/shouldn't deviate from that plan to react to stuff that comes up, but there's little to be gained from doing a complete u-turn on it. All that does is put doubt in the mind of your players...especially if you have their buy-in and belief of the new stuff your introducing. We don't know that playing any differently would have yielded better results...in fact the only evidence we have on which to base any real thoughts on that is previous seasons and massive dips in form at the turn of the year were a regular occurrence under TB using the "don't change a thing and keep shoe-horning players into unsuitable positions" philosophy he adopted. If anything, logic shows that without change a dip was highly probable...on that basis, is not better to at least try something different in an attempt to achieve a better outcome? Had we not had a managerial change we could very well have been sitting in the exact same position as we are now. Some would be arguing that TB had run the course with us and couldn't take us any further, others would be hammering him for failing to adapt/change to the situation, others would be defending him on the basis that we're punching above our weight and were in top 6 for second year running....blabbidy blabbidy blah. (Slight tangent in response to remarks on negativity/criticism and not at all in relation to the quoted posted) All that discussion around are the team playing the best, are they set up the best, should the manager do this or that, the manager is the best thing since pre-sliced bagels etc is all fantastic stuff...and it;s what I used to enjoy about partaking in the forum. These days there's an almost constant underlying tones of vitriol, abuse, personal digs and damn right nastiness which is either aimed directly at other posters or at the manager, players, club, CJT...everything basically. Anyone who thinks for one second that such things fall within the bounds of constructive criticism is seriously deluded. We seem to have slipped into a world where people don't know the difference between abuse/critique and CTO becomes more and more of a cesspit every day as a result. I withdrew my assistance as a moderator/admin on the forums partly because of pressure of work elsewhere and the difficulty from trying to wear too many hats....but what to give up was made easier because my conscience and personal standards meant I was no longer comfortable supporting the direction that things were heading in. I don't read and/or contribute to the vast majority of the forum any more because it's not a nice place to spend any time. I find it quite literally sucks the life from me...and I say that as someone who used to get a great deal of motivation and encouragement from a lot of the discussions that took place. Very interesting CaleyD. From one who seemed to spend most of his time on CTO to one who feels "it quite literally sucks the life from me" is sad to say the least. I honestly believe that people should only criticise if they have the knowledge to do so and have a valued solution to the problem. Football is a subject that people feel they know but in reality there will be very few, if any, qualified to pass the comments they do. It makes me laugh, and sometimes annoyed, when I read some of the comments made by people who probably never kicked a ball in their lives at any reasonable level let alone at the level this club is now at. It's time some should really wind their necks in and let the professionals get on with their jobs!

Partick will be the key to whether Hibs stay safe. If PT have a reasonably decent run, it may come to pass. What irked me was not just when he sat in with them before the deal was done, but his mocking of our resources when he did go. It was good enough when he couldn't buy a job and good enough when he oversaw our relegation. I would actually like him to repeat his bouncebackability next season though...so, very, much.
  20. He actually gave back a sarcastic clap back to them to say "Aye, good one" etc. Still he heard them so if he was bothered by it then he could have easily complained and got it stopped
  21. But I would take the responsibility becos I am one of the most law abiding, politically correct, mature and righteous individual in our support.
