  2. Not sure if this has been mentioned somewhere else but 8 players have been given under 20 contracts from the under 17s. Also Calum Ferguson has been given a one year contract while Jay Cheyne and Callum Holwarth have been released. Adam Evans, Joe Gorman, Nick Draper, Conor Pepper and Ben Greenhalgh are to find out next week about their fate

  3. Well tonight was a much more positive home performance in recent weeks and I came away from the TCS tonight thinking Aberdeen were there for the taking tonight much as they were in the cup final. For me personally I felt 0-0 didn't reflect the game at all. I thought a draw in hindsight may have been the fairer result and there should have been loads of goals scored tonight - maybe that's credit to the goalkeepers. I am still finding myself getting frustrated at the passing back to the deep and even when we become under pressure Meekings or Warren passes back to Brill and just hoofing it. I personally don't see the point and also can't fathom how Raven nor Tremarco can't be passed to and getting the ball forward as quickly as possible to eliminate the pressure. With that being said I thought some of our passing was good in most spells and some mispasses were happening but that happened for Aberdeen too thankfully so I won't be too critical. I took a moment tonight and actually looked at the Aberdeen team and as much as I hate the wee sh*te, I thought we could have done with a player like Willo Flood. He got the ball from deep very well, held the ball and got the ball forward very well and even chipped in at both wings - a player that would suit John Hughes' passing style of play. Since the injury I think James Vincent hasn't been up to scratch and I thought the difference between him and Ryan Christie was remarkable. Christie had so much energy, got the ball forward and managed to nutmeg an Aberdeen player too. In hindsight, I think John needs to make an executive decision and actually start Ryan Christie in games as we could be much better for it. For me tonight, Ross Draper was my MOTM. Referee was terrible. I'll take a point but should have been 3, but hey ho Bring on Celtic

  4. With every cloud theres a silver lining... much more entertaining 0-0 draw than the final. Both teams had chances but we probably had the better of them, though McGinns miss in the first half was rather dire given his reputation. A lot of high balls and while there were some nice exchanges of play we seemed to struggle with the final ball, poor Vincent had a mare tonight, I think he managed to dig the ball out of his feet and pass it twice, and have one neat turn, rest of the times he was either shrugged off the ball or his first touch was utter guff, Christie showed more urgency when he came onto replace him. Its a point I would have taken at the start but slightly disappointed we didnt take the win.

  5. Great team performance well done guys, even the position of the players ready for a counter attack looked good when defending a set piece, 2 points dropped today me thinks.

  6. Unlucky not to get three points, we played well for 70 percent of the game, a god mix of styles and certainly the passing improving all the time. Defence pretty solid, Warren outstanding , Brill back to his best and no real negatives apart from two dangerous slip ups. but over all the better of the two defences. Had we taken half our chances and we made quite a few I don't think the Dons would have got back at us.

  7. Its a clean sheet and a draw against 2nd top of the league, according to BBC we had more shots on and off target - I did not see it maybe not the best of games but how many of us would have taken a draw if offered before the game

  8. Foran, Shinnie and probably Pepper are out for this one, so I'd go with: Brill Raven Warren© Meekings Tremarco Tansey Draper Doran Christie Watkins Mckay Subs - Esson, Vincent, Williams, Ross, Devine, Polworth, Evans

  9. If you watch U20 games you would be saying the complete opposite. When Conor started with us he was pretty much a winger/striker, scored a late equaliser vs Hearts and scored a peach vs Hibernian. Admittedly he hasn't really been given much of a chance since. I have taken a fair bit of time watching u20s home games and this season Conor has been playing at right back. The word for me that sums him up is 'versatility'. His performances at right back have been really good and he has the pace to go forward but also the pace to come back to defend. Right back was a position I was worried about due to the lack of cover but the reality is now we have Conor Pepper and Graeme Shinnie that can fill in at right back, so that in itself should hopefully warrant Conor Pepper a new deal.

  10. Only 5 games left then its no more football for a while so I'm hoping to make the Most of the next few weeks. In the meantime I don't see much point in posting here after the County performance.

  13. Good grief! That's a sight. It may suit the Kaizer Chiefs but as I can't think of a witty response, if we get a top like that, I forecast serious social breakdown and disorder.

  14. This is getting stooped - I don't want to talk to Kenny Cameron and nor do I want to have any of my views represented by anybody. This is supposed to be a fans forum where anything goes. Unfortunately many appear to miss what is fishing, what is winding up, what is sarcasm and what is serious - irrespective if you share the same perspective. This forum is becoming a bit of an "I am right and this is who I am" competition and "let's see how many quotes and length of response that I can make". There will always be happy clappers and there will always be whinged moaners, there will always be batters and there will always be biters. It is rich coming from me but scoring points through personal ribbing is also becoming a bit of a norm. I would hope that most will presume that it is purely wind up from me but there is a tinge of nastiness at times - which you never get from the likes of Dougal. Some choose to remain anonymous which is their right but is a shame as far as I am concerned whilst some are well known and in the limelight - where CaleyD undoubtedly falls foul. This irritating thread has gone on too long. It is like City fans calling for the head of Pellegrino. Or it could be like Martinez changing the style of Everton when many worshipped Moyes. And then there is Moyes ? Bottom line is Hughes will be here at the start of next season - experimentation will continue during the split - it will be fair play to have a go next season and if there is criticism to be made then I will add to it with explanation and rationale. And seriously google aftermath of a narcissist becos Butcher has caused most of this - Hughes was on a hiding to nothing and many may have swerved the job in such recognition. And then there was our own expectations and I bet there were some who were thinking that we were going to win both cups, be in the top three and get into Europe. So projections of anger and frustration are rife. Hughes is the readily accessible target and anybody who fits the bill of being hoodwinked employees or influenced others viewed as being in league with the devil. From a feckin psychological perspective - get a feckin grip ya bunch of erse holes and hit the feckin Smirnoff.

Administration pending, unless... How can we go from SupercaleygoballisticCelticareatrocious in the year 2000, to Scottish Cup Winners in 2015, playing in Europe and just 9 years after lifting the Cup; Administration. Mismanagement and our demise was hastened by the appointment of Scot Gardiner. Ever since then, ludicrous decision making has seen our stock plummet whilst 'shady' dealings were investigated. The failed Concert Company, the Battery Storage, the Statkraft contract have all ended badly leaving the club facing insolvency.

That's another fine mess you've got us into.

      Chairman Ross Morrison resigns

Nothing official from the club as we speak, but the Inverness Courier are running with a story that Ross Morrison has resigned at 18:00 tonight 3rd June.  More to come as this story develops, but most fans are looking for more heads to roll.

Speaking exclusively to The Inverness Courier, Mr Morrison said he is leaving now because of the aftermath of the Fife move. “I believe it [the move to Fife] is the best way forward and I have to stick with my beliefs,” Mr Morrison said. “This is the reason I'm stepping down now.”

Reflecting on his time with the Caley Thistle, Mr Morrison said: “My six-year tenure with the club has had some great and some not so great times but through everything I was immensely proud to be the chairman of the club and clubs I’ve supported for 50 years - I was a Jaggie by the way.

“I would ask the fans to rally round the club at this time and show their support by not only purchasing their season tickets but also getting involved directly with the club to see how they can help.

“Hearing fans saying they would prefer administration to training the first team in Kelty sent a shiver down my spine. Administration is a desperate thing to happen to a club and must, at all cost, not happen to ICTFC.”
