Think that is a sign of the times to be honest. Most of the fun has been legislated out of football with rules about stadia, seating, standing, chanting, and yes alcohol. For me, growing up, football was a release at the end of the week. I could have a few beers, let off steam, hurl some insults at the opposition and generally enjoy myself. Yes some people overdid it and got in trouble, but for most I would say it was like this. Nowadays that good natured and perhaps slightly drunken behaviour would get me ejected from the ground or even lifted !!! Maybe its good I am a Toronto season ticket holder .... this behaviour is encouraged !!!! Just as Scotland once attracted 100,000 to Hampden or the Maracana had just shy of 200,000 for the 1950 World Cup Final !!! Football is a different beast now in terms of cost and other options available for leisure and comparisons to the 60s, 70s or 80s even are like comparing apples and oranges. I dont doubt IHE in the slightest or for that matter CB, they are different sides of the argument. I know quite a few folk who wont even say the name of ICT, but equally, I know others who never followed either .... its the past, we should never forget the history, and in many respects our generation of ICT supporters are both the pioneers and the 'lost' generation. Pioneers for following the new club but lost in a flurry of emotions or opinions about past and present allegiances (including other 'big' teams when Caley or Thistle were in the HFL). The generations that follow us will hopefully not have so much baggage !
  3. By the looks of things, there'll be plenty Gruffalo's on display in Dingwall!
  4. I'm not too proud to admit the info came from ICTFC.com
  5. In that case, if everyone, including the very worthy charity, is a winner then it's not just a cheap marketing stunt.
  6. Because all the others meet the necessary criteria to enter the first round proper.

What we have to remember is also that Butcher's stock had sunk very low at the club (lost the dressing room etc.) that retaining his services as Manager was hardly an option. If they did not foresee such a slide in the club , and his fortunes, then management must take a large part of the blame for ignoring this possibility and drafting terms in the contract to cover such an eventuality such as his early failure and demise. It's likely that a negotiated settlement will result because we are sure that Terry Butcher is unlikely to want to be very difficult about sticking to the very letter of his contract since he failed and doing so might hurt his future chances of another management post. He's a talker so maybe the best bet for him is to find a position on T.V. I don't think his prospects of another management job are rosy in the near future, though.

So to sum it up if Caley had gone it alone they would be somewhere between bust and regulars in the europa league and would have between 300 & 20,000 fans, their stadia would be on the high school grounds and the kids would get taught in the old b&q
  10. It's my birthday on Thursday and if it's not released by then, gosh darn it I'm gonna be so mad.
  11. I'll just get in first by telling anyone thinking about saying it to feck off.
  12. I'd sooner wear that horrific commonwealth games outfit than the begging rags the no voters lining the streets and underground in London covet lol
  13. I can exclusively reveal the new shirt* *is sort of like this.
  14. The thyme it has taken is pretty ridiculous but I've seen a leek-ed photo which suggests the top should be a best celery.
  15. That's a little gem! I'm green with envy at all this humour and look forward to the salad days at TCS where tvisiting teams will get a good dressing down
  16. Aye lettuce not get carried away with all this....
  17. The logo doesn't look too bad on the new kit ;-)
  18. Showing your age Bughtmaster. You remember "Wotno!" I thought he was from my younger era, like Biggles. And Spread Eagle on the BBC Children's hour on the Home Service wireless. Gosh, at that young age I thought looking at the word Schenectady on the wireless dial meant that I was trying to tune in to a broadcaster in Switzerland. Now I know it's close to New York, U.S.A. That was in the era when I used a torch to signal messages in Morse Code from the front bedroom in Dunain Road to my pal in his house opposite on Telford Gardens. Oops! Off topic. Sorry.
