  1. ‘Another tactical masterclass from Big Yogi and the Team. This has to be some of the most intelligent football ever played by Caley Thistle.’ Caley D ‘Great game to watch, great players, great performance against a good team’ 12th Man ‘First time we've ever been top of the league as late as November’ Yngwie ‘The first time in just over 3 years that we've won a league game after conceding the first goal. The curse is broken!’ Yngwie ‘Thats the best performance i have seen in a long long time’ Forza Caley Patience and persistence has it rewards! Well done Yogi!
  2. Excellent result for many reasons - Winning a match where we went a goal down - Converting 60% possession into a few goals - Billy scoring again - Puts us top of the league Well done to all concerned!
  3. Another tactical masterclass from Big Yogi and the Team. This has to be some of the most intelligent football ever played by Caley Thistle. Hamilton got the better start, but it didn't take long for us to re-assert ourselves and it was no looking back from then on. Hamilton came to realise early in the second half that they were struggling to cope with what was being thrown at them and, sadly, resorted to dragging our players down...and even holding them down...all over the pitch. Watkins' showed just how strong he can be on the ball, yet again, and given the "attention" he was getting at times I imagine he'll wake up a bit sore and with a bruise or two in the morning. Delighted for Billy as well. Second goal was laid out on a plate, but the first goal he can take plenty of credit for as he still had a bit of work to do on receiving the ball. I don't buy into the theory that his confidence was low, but it'll be great for his spirit to have bagged a brace and hopefully it marks a wee turn in fortune for him. The most exciting thing is.....I still don't believe we've seen the full potential of this squad. They seem to be learning and improving all the time....and long may that continue. Be interesting to see if the SFA take any action against Jason Scotland for his off-the-ball elbow on Gary Warren....which was caught clearly on camera. Bit of a precedent set with the Goodwin incident last week. (P.S. It's Mckay....small "k")
  4. And, I believe, the first time in just over 3 years that we've won a league game after conceding the first goal. The curse is broken!
  5. Brilliant pressing and tackling when we lost the ball. We out-scrapped them all over the park today. Exactly what you need to do to beat Hamilton. Excellent team performance.
  6. Really good game of football this afternoon. The slow start meant that Hamilton could capitalise early and there was no chance Brill was getting to it but we got our heads into the game and battered Hamilton after that. Hats off to Mckay, I thought he played a blinder today and got two well deserved goals. I liked the idea of him and Watkins up front as they do compliment each other. Gary Warren's goal was out of this world - a great defenders header To sum up really I felt that today was a good team performances and I thought the tactics and subs were good today especially when Hamilton brought it back to 3-2 - Hamilton couldn't cope when Doran and Christie came on. Just to add, was Willie Collum feeling alright today? I thought he had a good game today.
  7. Well Done to the lads (and management). Another excellent result. There must be loads of humble pie being consumed in Inverness these days?
  8. Someone with a north accent was on BBC Scotland this evening, he had asked for discount on 25 tickets for the game today for his young football team who were playing in Inverness this morning. The club gave them free tickets! A good gesture
  9. Probably much easier if I just make it my signature...
  10. Great game to watch, great players, great performance against a good team, well done.
  11. Top of the tree after 13 games - bring on Muvversmell
  12. 13 games 26 points..2 pts per game average. Only Celtic better that.
  13. By any measure that was a good result against the surprise form team of the SPL....Billy back scoring, and Vincent/Warren on the score sheet too.... Top, just need a favour tomorrow before the international break
  14. Well done ICT great result!
  15. Disappointed Goodwin is not playing against us - he always offers us the chance to play against 10 men!
  16. 1 point
Is a 4-3-3 with three striker something that could be looked at, to have right go at Accies, essentially trying to overpower them? Something like this - Brill Raven Warren Meekings Tremarco Draper Tansey Shinnie Sekajja Mckay Watkins Subs - Esson, Devine, Ross, Doran, Vincent, Christie, Williams
  17. 10 months ago I witnessed a couple of Yogi's first few games in charge (0-4 down to the Dons at HT before fighting back to 'only' lose 3-4, and then losing 0-1 to Celtic a week later with a better performance but no bite), then a couple of weeks ago I witnessed another game (winning 1-0 against DUFC). The difference in the style of play and dare I say it, in the belief some of the players seem to have, is very noticeable to someone who usually gets their ICT fix over the radio and only sees them in person once in a while ... Unlike the Christmas debacles, the team played well in the game I saw a couple of weeks ago and despite a few squeaky bum moments when Ciftci (primarily) got the ball, we were a better side than them all over the park. Things may not always go to plan with Yogi (or with any manager for that matter) and that is frustrating as hell when you know what they CAN do, but when he has them playing well then he is doing as good a job as any manager we could have under the circumstances and constraints that will always be around our club. I have to add that it was good to see Yogi having a bit of banter with the crowd at the DUFC game (not sure if this is normal?) and also giving the 4th official pelters for the lack of consistency in the refereeing ... he appears to still be a punter at heart !!!
  18. Im guessing Dawson's been watching GOAL! or Field of dreams recently
  19. Nothing short of 60% ball retention will be acceptab;e. The league doesnt matter.
  20. Please tell me its on a caravan?
  21. Saw C1ACH heading north up the A9 this morning. Frequently see RO55 CTY but I've not managed to hit it yet.
