  4. Interesting to see that Scotland have a home fixture lined-up for March against Billy's Northern Ireland! Obviously, I hope he's still with us - and it would be great to see him line up (or play some part) against Scotland. No doubt he'll open his international account in this particular game - that sort of thing tends to happen in football! I think it will be the first time an ICT player has played against Scotland. (if he gets a game)

  5. watch the interview with Yogi .... he is not hiding, he is not making excuses. He quite rightly gives credit to the opposition for being better than us on the day and also talks about our own failings and where he himself may be wrong in being too loyal to the starting 11. He talks a lot of sense in this interview. And for those that see a pattern with what happened at previous clubs ... no shit sherlock !! a football match has only 3 possible results so of course there will be similar days and that applies to all of our managers. Its how you learn from those days that matters.

  6. Alex... making conditioning training of a higher intensity doesn't necessarily make it more effective. For instance you won't build much aerobic endurance by running sprints all of the time. Also, high intensity conditioning sessions often actually take longer since recovery times within the session are much longer. For example you could do a relatively low intensity session of 400m runs with a 200m jog between efforts in less than 20 minutes. On the other hand doing a series of 60 or 80m sprints for speed/speed endurance would take longer because you would need to take much longer recoveries between your runs for the session to be effective. Similarly, lifting weights at around maximum loading needs long recoveries. The other consideration is that there are so many different boxes that need to be ticked for a team ball sport. In the case of "fitness" you need to pay attention to speed, strength, endurance and various combinations of these three as well as to the likes of mobility. Then you also need time to cover personal technical ball skills as well as whole-team manoeuvres such as what are called "training ground moves". If players are doing just 2-3 evening training sessions in addition to games, I just can't see how that could be nearly as effective as daily and sometimes twice daily sessions.

  7. ^ This. There's no reason to see bringing Doran and Christie back in after yesterday's performance as a knee-jerk reaction: both have played very significant roles in our excellent start to the season. Having been at the last three Saturdays' games, there has been a bit of a lack of spark in our forward play; by some distance our best spell of play over those three games was the second half against St Mirren, where Christie, after a tentative first half, really pulled the strings. He's a young player and we can expect to see dips in his performance levels in some games, but he definitely offers a vision in his passing and a dynamism in his running that neither Vincent or Williams seem to possess.

  8. Good on you Shaun for not panicking. There used to be somebody called Mahonio who would have been calling for the manager's head by now.

    • Aaron Doran - Club Legend
Shameful: Thanks to Shane Sutherland, the generosity of friends, fans, former colleagues and opponents, Aaron has now had his operation. However it has emerged that he had posted on Instagram regarding his sad dismissal and treatment from the Board of Inverness CT who have treated Aaron in a similar way to which they have been treating the fans. Let's not forget that Aaron was due to have a testimonial for his service to the club.

    • Administration pending unless...
Administration pending, unless... How can we go from SupercaleygoballisticCelticareatrocious in the year 2000, to Scottish Cup Winners in 2015, playing in Europe and just 9 years after lifting the Cup; Administration. Mismanagement and our demise was hastened by the appointment of Scot Gardiner. Ever since then, ludicrous decision making has seen our stock plummet whilst 'shady' dealings were investigated. The failed Concert Company, the Battery Storage, the Statkraft contract have all ended badly leaving the club facing insolvency.

That's another fine mess you've got us into.

      Chairman Ross Morrison resigns

Nothing official from the club as we speak, but the Inverness Courier are running with a story that Ross Morrison has resigned at 18:00 tonight 3rd June.  More to come as this story develops, but most fans are looking for more heads to roll.

Speaking exclusively to The Inverness Courier, Mr Morrison said he is leaving now because of the aftermath of the Fife move. “I believe it [the move to Fife] is the best way forward and I have to stick with my beliefs,” Mr Morrison said. “This is the reason I'm stepping down now.”

Reflecting on his time with the Caley Thistle, Mr Morrison said: “My six-year tenure with the club has had some great and some not so great times but through everything I was immensely proud to be the chairman of the club and clubs I’ve supported for 50 years - I was a Jaggie by the way.

“I would ask the fans to rally round the club at this time and show their support by not only purchasing their season tickets but also getting involved directly with the club to see how they can help.

“Hearing fans saying they would prefer administration to training the first team in Kelty sent a shiver down my spine. Administration is a desperate thing to happen to a club and must, at all cost, not happen to ICTFC.”
