Have you been at the Christmas sherry, Oddquine! You're the last person I would have expected to have a wee leaning towards the Union-flag-waving Ibrox lot! But joking aside, I see what you're getting at, from the legal perspective. Obviously, It wasn't his 'fault' he was on a reported £800,000 per annum in the 4th tier. If my employers were daft enough to offer me that... The wages being paid to McCoist and the players during their time in the lower leagues was utterly ridiculous and just part of the gross mis-management that's been on-going since the club was rebirthed. As creditors were left in the lurch when the club's debts were written off in liquidation, the new Rangers had a clean slate to start from. They squandered an opportunity when the 'newco' was launched - and haven't learned from the mistakes that saw the demise of the old club. It still irks me when journalists report that, after liquidation, they were demoted to the Third Division or 'relegated' to the bottom tier. It is against business law for a phoenix outfit to masquerade as being the same-as-before, after a liquidation event. They simply were 'accepted' into the vacancy that had arisen in the bottom tier after one of the member clubs disappeared! There's really no grey area - that is what happened - despite this being against the rules of the Scottish League which require clubs to prove their financial viability by submitting three-years of auditable accounts. They should currently be in the Lowland League, seeking to enter the SPFL via the Pyramid play-offs at the end of the season. Strayed a bit off-topic there!3 points

Standard childish response from CaleyD but I think halving the North Stand straight down the middle isn't that bad an idea considering the dropping numbers in the home ranks Ok this would need to be implemented at the end of the season, but just think how much extra income would be generated from the extra hundreds of tickets that could be sold to Dons and Celtic fans Getting all ICT fans huddled tightly together in a few sections might also improve the atmosphere rather than being scattered here and there Dougal2 points

Not that I'm by any means a Rangers fan, and am happy to be contradicted,,,,,,,,but didn't Ally work, when the club was in administration for nothing, and then took a pay cut from his contracted wage for some time to help the finances? He will, in that case have spent a relatively small proportion of his time as manager receiving the wage to which he was contractually entitled. Seems to me that over the piece, if that was the case, Rangers did quite well out of him. Hardly his fault that the players, who were being paid, didn't do their jobs against "lesser" teams.1 point

Sad if he leaves but if the Birmingham story is true then fair play, a truly big club playing in one of the biggest leagues in Europe. Also a good old GIRUY to all those insufferable Aberdeen fans who've had so much to say on this issue. Hopefully he makes the most of the time he still has with us. Have to say though, it's about time me actually received a transfer fee, if you look at all the players we've helped develop in recent years, Barry Robson, Dennis Wyness, Johnny Hayes, Adam Rooney, Don Cowie, Andrew Shinnie etc, and we haven't received a penny for any of them. Pretty scandalous really, especially when you look at the ridiculous money Dundee Utd have received for players of similar quality. Not sure what the answer is in this regard. Longer contracts seem the most obvious solution. Something has to change. We can't keep losing our most valuable players year after year on frees. It's totally inept.1 point

He should be strung from the cross bar and the ICT players each get three shots to smash a ball in to his goolies.1 point

The aggrieved club (us) get cheated out of a possible point and our rivals benefit by playing a weakend St J side , doesn't sit right with me .1 point

And I can now look forward to four double voddies and coke in Birmingham. Who dared to say that I couldn't get this thread to 30 + pages before the start of the season ?!! And the bonus is that this thread has actually become more serious and interactive and there have been a significant number of sensible, positive and realistic posts - apart from CB of course !!1 point

Aaron Doran - Club Legend
tm4tj posted an article in News 2024-25,
Shameful: Thanks to Shane Sutherland, the generosity of friends, fans, former colleagues and opponents, Aaron has now had his operation. However it has emerged that he had posted on Instagram regarding his sad dismissal and treatment from the Board of Inverness CT who have treated Aaron in a similar way to which they have been treating the fans. Let's not forget that Aaron was due to have a testimonial for his service to the club.-

Administration pending unless...

Administration pending, unless... How can we go from SupercaleygoballisticCelticareatrocious in the year 2000, to Scottish Cup Winners in 2015, playing in Europe and just 9 years after lifting the Cup; Administration. Mismanagement and our demise was hastened by the appointment of Scot Gardiner. Ever since then, ludicrous decision making has seen our stock plummet whilst 'shady' dealings were investigated. The failed Concert Company, the Battery Storage, the Statkraft contract have all ended badly leaving the club facing insolvency.
That's another fine mess you've got us into.-

New Chairman Wanted, Apply Within
tm4tj posted an article in News 2023-24,
Chairman Ross Morrison resigns
Nothing official from the club as we speak, but the Inverness Courier are running with a story that Ross Morrison has resigned at 18:00 tonight 3rd June. More to come as this story develops, but most fans are looking for more heads to roll.
Speaking exclusively to The Inverness Courier, Mr Morrison said he is leaving now because of the aftermath of the Fife move. “I believe it [the move to Fife] is the best way forward and I have to stick with my beliefs,” Mr Morrison said. “This is the reason I'm stepping down now.”
Reflecting on his time with the Caley Thistle, Mr Morrison said: “My six-year tenure with the club has had some great and some not so great times but through everything I was immensely proud to be the chairman of the club and clubs I’ve supported for 50 years - I was a Jaggie by the way.
“I would ask the fans to rally round the club at this time and show their support by not only purchasing their season tickets but also getting involved directly with the club to see how they can help.
“Hearing fans saying they would prefer administration to training the first team in Kelty sent a shiver down my spine. Administration is a desperate thing to happen to a club and must, at all cost, not happen to ICTFC.”-
