  1. Had a youngster there today for his first ever live game. He went away delighted with the fare on show - we were the better team in terms of possession and smooth football but from a neutral's point of view this would have been an excellent game to watch - lots of attacking play, meaty challenges, bizzare refereeing, etc. The lad has signed up to Caley Jags Together and I am sure will be at more matches pretty soon.
  2. Think that DoresBoy and maself put it all into perspective on the way home - somebody was enthusing over the Highland League scores - as we would have been 25+ years ago. And here we are - 3rd in the SPFL Premier League - on the brink of Europe - Hampden beckoning - expecting to win against Kilmarnock - should have beaten Killie - the Arabs getting beaten - O2feckinB. We played them off the pitch but we lost a lead and goals 3 times on the trot. More later but SLOPPY. Simply have to go to tannadice - potentially our Biggest game of the season - what are the Juanjo Away plans ? All ICT fans GET There.
  3. I believe that we had a contingency plan which involved approaching clubs and/or players after Billy was sold. However if we were not given permission to speak to players or were turned down by players there is not much to be done. Where we are at the moment I would prefer that we do not just take someone because they are available - unless someone is good enough for ICT and will fit into the group (on and off the park) that are here then we should not make a panic purchase. You just need to look at a club not 20 miles form here to work out what problems we could be letting ourselves in for if we get the wrong mix in the dressing room.

  5. Does anybody think that we didn't actually have a contingency plan ?
  6. We need Brill back between the posts. We need a right back. We need to get more than 2900 at our games. I thought some players did well, others faded in the second half, and we were unlucky to lose 3 goals. Williams goal was a peach! Ryan is a great player(Christie) but Raven needs some competition for that place, he came close to costing us all the points today.
  7. Maybe international players in the sense that they ply their trade in a country different from birth ... Anything more than that is stretching it a bit in the case of Prince and non-existent as far as I can see for Vucanovic ... But I take your point about our existing squad maybe not all having startling career stats. Appreciate we have a budget to operate in but given we are an established top 6 team, can we not start to dip our toe in slightly more ambitious waters? Without being overly simplistic, if we have the smallest squad but comparable attendances with 3 or 4 other SPL teams, are we being slightly over-cautious? That website I referred to is well worth a browse btw ... Astonishing source of up-to-date data even to refer to if nothing else ... Foolhardy to dismiss so readily IMHO. Your point lacks logic. Existing budget only allows for small squad...if we are to pay more, then we would need to shrink squad further to be able to afford it. If there's a bit of spare cash, then it's use needs to be viewed going forward. You can't base long term spending by way of increased wages on one off, non guaranteed, cash injections...how do you cover the wages next season without it? We're not awash with cash and being "over cautious" is better than being overdrawn with debt/costs we can't sustain...that would be foolhardy! Think you should change your Avatar. Maybe appropriate in your past life but nowadays you seem to roll over, believe everything your told and then defend it with your all. Are you offering to tickle my belly? Jesus!!!!! Please, please don't offer to do that. You'll never get over it. Never get over it!!! You saying I have a big belly? Do I really need to get myself into more trouble over this? I just thought the poor boy had no idea of what he was getting in to. He'd never see the sun again...

  9. Given the run we've been on I thought that was a pretty nervy and lacklustre performance against a team we should have beaten. We have a huge game against Dundee Utd on Tuesday and we are going to have to play better if we are to get anything out of that. I thought Tansey and Draper were both well short of their normal high standards. Ross and Williams both did reasonably well in midfield (great strike from Williams!) but MOTM for me was Christie by a country mile. He worked tirelessly and was always wanting the ball despite getting some pretty rough treatment which the referee seemed happy to condone. Defensively we were not great and there were a number of individual errors which led to goals. Whilst it is, of course, fantastic that we are still unbeaten in 2015, it is a bit worrying that after taking the lead against County we were pegged back to a draw, then against both St Mirren and Partick we had a two goal cushion and they pulled one back and then today, we took the lead no less than 3 times and were pegged back each time. Yogi was talking about this last week saying we have to learn to kill teams off. Whatever he said to the team clearly didn't work! That is now 4 games in a row where we have allowed the opposition to score the last goal of the game and these games have been against 4 of the bottom 5. Interestingly, that coincides with Brill's absence from the team. It would be good to know how close he is to a return to fitness. On the balance of play we might consider ourselves a little unlucky not to get all 3 points but to be honest, we never created a lot of chances and at times gifted them opportunities to attack through sloppiness. So we probably got what we deserved. A 3-3 scoreline sounds great but in truth it reflected defensive frailties rather than good attacking football. At least Dundee Utd lost and we strengthen our hold of 3rd place.
  10. Do I feel robbed? No, we should have been able to defend a bit better. I do feel hard done by however. The first Killie goal was as the result of a speculative shot that took a deflection. The defence didn't track back and left their striker one-on-one with Esson. The free kick that led to the second equaliser was a bit soft I felt, and followed a head shot on Nick Ross that should have been dealt with by the referee but wasn't Killie then got another lucky break when the ball came back off the post and hit Esson on the back and went in. The third came about from some sloppy attacking - that would be my main gripe with us today, we gave the ball away when we had them under pressure too many times - unfortunately we gave the ball away on the halfway line and they scored from the header. Difficult to judge our first two goals as I was at the other end, but the third by Williams was a beauty. That nob Rob Maclean was spouting some pish about it being deflected - dream on no Killie player got near it, including the keeper. And now we come to the waste of a skin that was the referee. WTF did Macgennis have to do to get booked? Every jump that he had no chance of winning was either a barge or an elbow into the defender (in fact all the Killie forwards were guilty of that). The last "challenge" that led to his final warning looked like a clear elbow into Warren. A yellow on its own at the least. That the treatment handed out to Nick Ross went unpunished was appalling. And why did he not need to use his vanishing spray for free kicks on the stand side, but did need to on the far side? His "I'm in charge" talk to Pascali when he was shoving Warren at the free kick they scored from was pointless, considering he then proceeded to do nothing. And what was the added time at the end of the match about? 1 minute which was taken up by the Killie defender rolling about after Meekings was booked. And why was Pascali pulling his own player's shirt at a set piece in the second half? Clumsy attempt to con the ref?
  11. On another day we would have won that 3-1 and everyone would have been raving about the great play all over the park. Unfortunately, lady luck shone a bit brighter on Killie and had a big hand in their first two goals. Such is the nature of the game sometimes and I think it would be a bit unfair to go looking for scapegoats.
  12. That was some game. Three good goals from us, and Killie scrapped like hell - as said above, they are a far more motivated side under Locke than they ever were under Johnston. There was an an element of luck about two of their goals, but it would be churlish to grudge them the draw. We are more suited to going away from home against teams that come out and attack but we scored enough today to put most teams away - roll on tuesday night. Just finished watching man City demolish Newcastle in the EPL, wasn't half the entertainment that you saw at TCS. Sure it's a higher standard but only one team was ever going to win - money talks. I just didn't fancy listening, give me Caley Thistle above that any day.
  13. Ross was getting kicked all over the park with no protection from the ref. I guess that had a bit to do with it.
  14. Over the piece Inverness probably edged it, but can't complain too much about the result. There was an element of good fortune for 2 of Killies goals, but we can't moan too much, they looked like a pretty decent team, especially going forward. The first came from a shot which took a huge deflection straight into the path of a Killie striker. The second was a bit of poor decision making from Esson. We had a goal kick deep in injury time. He played a hospital pass out to Nick Ross which resulted in a turnover of possession and a free kick to Killie - which they scored from. Had he just gone long chances are the ref would've blown for half time. Fair enough he's probably still rusty from lack of first team football, but he'll need to step up his game if he wants to keep his place when Deano recovers. On another day we would've won by a couple of goals, but at least United lost again, so it's a point gained over them.

With only 1 other SPL team able to reach semi .. And not replacing only recognised out-and-out striker .. having actually got £££,£££ ... Doesn't lack logic? ... Or is McKay's £ just plugging a pre-existing hole? There is also Billy's saved wage. In essence all I was saying was ...great look at free agents but, given the money in and saved wage, surely we can look at people (even at a slightly lower level) that have a proven goalscoring history to a reasonable degree ... Instead of looking at people that on the face of it look more like a complete punt. Everyone has an opinion and I still trust the club's hierarchy has best interests at heart.

  19. If he played for Germany or Argentina, you might have a point but just because one is an international (for a place he wasn't born in) doesn't mean he's a de facto world beater! Prince Rajcomar plays for Curacao who are ranked 160th in the world, below such world beaters as Kyrgyzstan, Bangladesh, Liechtenstein and the Faroe Islands and only slightly ahead Laos and Guam! I much preferred you when you were throwing your toys out the pram and going mental to be honest!
  20. We won 2-1 with Ferguson getting the first, then the second was a last minute winner by Ryan Baptie from a Calum Ferguson assist. I know we had an U17 at the back along side Jason Brown not sure on the rest of the team though.
  21. I know what they will be calling the Serbian lad if he misses any goals..................
  22. Just like when he was with us.
