  1. For the record I'd support Nadir Cifti before I'd support a gb olympic team.
  2. I bought them along with the stadium naming rights for £1 last year. You're all gonna love the Big Don Dome once I win the lottery and can afford to build it.

To quote Kevin Keegan I would "love it" if Ciftci was to get sent off against Celtic and stuff his team's chances in the cup. His cheating and hooligan behaviour will eventually catch up on him.
  4. Particularly around book shops in Boat of Garten I'm led to believe... Which part of my previous message is unclear as it relates to this topic ?
  5. I liked him at ICT - did a good job for us and always sad to hear a player's career being cut short.
  6. Particularly those who only seem to start topics to provoke some form of reaction.
  7. Glad he's getting signed up but surely he deserves more than a year? A couple would be the least he deserves and give him some security.

I picked up also on the comment, above, that "Their lawyer must have supported them"..i.e. suggested that the club proceed as the club saw fit? But if he, the solicitor, knew full well from the video evidence that the player broke the rules of the SFA isn't that tantamount to breaking the law with which he would be so familiar? Also, it means , surely, that lawyers are not overly scrupulous about going about their business nor the clients they represent and that business and money trumps the processes of law which they are supposed to provide as a matter of course in the community? Do you think I am being too harsh or do you detect lowering standards of integrity and conduct all over the world ? But if the offending player is going to get away with it, it might reasonably be felt that he will continue. So, therefore, other clubs can police him and at the first hint of badness they descend on him and kick him to a quivering pulp--after all, fair's fair since now we appear to know that blatant fouling can be overlooked without penalty? Just a thought or two. ....

Not proven wtf. Did he tell them that he wasn't playing that day and he was at his friends house all day playing connect four. Hes starting to make Jim Goodwin look like a Morris dancer. What goes around comes around, his cards are now marked, even if he did get a ban it wouldn't have helped us in any way at all. Maybe the decisions against him in the future will be kinder to us

I didn't think I would ever say this but I hope Celtic win their next three games all 6-0 I despise this Dundee Utd set up more than the old firm. From a chairman who is a hypocrit to a manager who encourages cheating to players who are thugs and cheats(not just Ciftci but Paton, Connelly, Dillon etc.) and some of their fans who are so blinkered against anything negative about their club they cannot see what is in front of them to others that actually revel in the way the team cheat.
  11. Leaving aside the peculiar quasi political issues surrounding a Great Britain football team, in my view, an Olympic gold medal ought to be the pinnacle of achievement for the participant in any Olympic sport. Professional footballers, tennis players and now golfers all have much greater priorities than the Olympics which, for them, is merely a side show. For that reason alone, football, at least at professional level, has no place at the Olympics and that's before we even get started on the manifold perils of entering a Great Britain team.
  12. I will ignore the abusive remark from Laurence and say this. I would not have a problem with a football team GB provided it followed certain criterea. 1. The professional associations (FA's of England, Scotland, N. Ireland and Wales) have absolutely nothing to do with the organisation or team selection. They can, however, provide training and financial support. 2. Teams are made up from amatuer and junior leagues. 3. Numbers of players from each nation must, at a minimum, reflect similar percentages as population of each nation. 4. There must be no risk that the independence of each association is jeopordised. SAtisfy all the above and I see no reason why we can't have a team GB
  13. That is an astonishing statement. I was born in the Highlands and have been closely connected to the area for over half a century. Like everywhere else, there is the odd idiot but there is no evidence to back up your slur on an entire region which I greatly resent. Who, by the way, needs to 'grow up' ? Would it, by any chance be those that have the temerity to have a different opinion to yourself ? Perhaps you should try debating without resorting to insult like the vast majority of posters on this site seem capable of.
  14. Football is not an olympic sport. The end.
