Well after moaning and groaning over the past few weeks I renewed both my own and my father's tickets today. The promise from Ritchie that we will see more attacking football this forthcoming season coupled with the re-signing of the loyal David Raven helped me decide. The biggest factor though was in memory of my Dad who passed away this week. He was a true Caledonian FC fan and former groundsman at Telford Street. He took me along as a very small boy and I tagged along as he lined the pitch on match days with distemper, put the sawdust on the penalty spots and hung the nets. R.I.P. Dad, x
  2. How can Derek Riordan have two good seasons left at this level when hasn't had a good season in five years? He might have been a brilliant footballer once but that was long ago. He hasn't played regularly since 2011 and hasn't made more than 11 appearances for a club since. That includes failed spells at Alloa, St Johnstone and a team in China (before it became awash with cash), as well as the fact he's currently at York and done nothing whatsoever. He was also offered a trial at Morton and didn't turn up. A waste of a career and certainly not someone we should look to sign.
  3. Was thinking that .... He's always been touted as a future manager for us, but what cemented his commitment to ICT in my mind was that he didn't follow his mentor Terry Butcher to Hibs like he did when Butcher came to Inverness: A quick Google search shows how much Butcher meant to Foran, and by extension, how much Inverness CT, his family and the area must mean to him now. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/richie-foran-wants-to-repay-terry-1556528#I04sewp0sqUbm1RD.97 http://www.newsandstar.co.uk/My-career-was-saved-by-Terry-Butchers-wife-says-ex-Carlisle-Utd-ace-Richie-Foran-bb878e1e-03c9-4b28-9a70-9b05055a100a-ds There is also an excellent BBC article by Martin Dowden here that I think nails it in terms of our managerial dilemma : http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/36348419
  4. If RF brings the same passion to his managerial post as he did to playing, he may spend a fair bit of time watching games from the stand. Like many others who have moved to the Highlands he loves the area, and may not be as much of a fixture as Charlie Christie, but may become one.

In 1993 I retired from the Fire Brigade in Lancashire and was offered a job in the deep south in Kent A work mate of mine was a Wimbledon fan, he took me to matches .and I soon got hooked. For many seasons a I watched Wimbledon play Premier league football on Crystal Palace's ground Selhurst park. 14 years ago the club was stolen off the fans and franchised to Milton Keynes. The Fans formed a new club themselves, ( sitting on hay bales on an amateur ground ) they joined the 9th level of English football, determined to fight back their rightful place now they are in the 3rd tier of English football, Fantastic spirit of Neil Hardley who I watched play against all the top sides . Now AFC Wimbledon are in the the same league as MK Dons, What a game that will be next season when the teams meet on level terms. My memories of that period of my life returned today. Unbelievable feeling I can tell you.
  6. Just because Wigan have said he's returning for pre-season doesn't mean they won't be open to offers for Billy. They might also be happy for him to be out on loan again - although not to a Scottish Championship side I would imagine.
  7. All managers have different opinions and it doesn't mean he was a bad player just because Yogi didn't play him.
  8. It depends when their contracts end....if they are under contract it clearly would still be a pre-contract situation now unless they had signed for their existing club (Lawless?). I am sure not every contract expired on 31 May 2016.
  9. Whatever happened to the two pre contract signings advised by the board?
  10. So that's a Yes. The only panic may lie in the buying. You don't get time and space now.

and I could close this and other topics if they continue to be so focused on personal abuse and slagging instead of the topic at hand. Lets stay classy folks
  12. Always thought he looked like he might have something about him. One of the tricky, agile players with a low center of gravity allowing him to get passed opponents. Unsure why Yogi signed him as he was never given much game time, but Foran must see something in him.

  14. The SPFL has confirmed its four league competitions begin the 2016-17 season the weekend of Saturday, 6 August 2016. This follows the group stages of the revamped Scottish League Cup, eight groups of five teams playing each other once in a round-robin format in July. This 80-game group stage will involve all 38 teams not involved in Uefa qualifiers, plus winners of this season's Highland and Lowland Leagues. Premiership clubs also enjoy a three-week winter break in January 2017. The full fixture lists for the 2016-17 SPFL league season are expected to be published on Friday 17 June 2016. 20/21 May 2017 is the end of Ladbrokes Premiership season.
  15. 17th.but don't no the betfred cup ones.
  16. It's no secret that the last managerial appointment was not greeted with universal delight so it's great to see that with the best part of a hundred votes cast only one solitary isolated soul has declared themselves unhappy with this appointment. Unity and togetherness has always been our greatest asset and, after a period of division, it's wonderfully encouraging to see that that has been so quickly and comprehensively restored.

    I could live with that.

You're having a laff ain't ya? Could have 7k in the stadium and the atmosphere would still be questionable... ^^this and all this merde about 'entertainment' FML! If you want entertainment, go to the cinema. If you want to watch a game of fitba, and support your local team, then you buy a season ticket and head down to the TCS! If you're lucky, you will be entertained as well.

I'll be renewing. I'll support the club first and foremost, regardless of stupid managerial decisions.
  20. Have we done it yet again ? Why are we regularly caught out at the start of the season ? A lot of other clubs have done a lot of business and many are prepared for the pre-season. It is really important to get it all in gear and have a squad ready to gel and get to know each other, especially if a change of playing philosophy is in the air.

So if they don't want to subscribe to the normal customs and practices of football, why was so much bending over backwards done in 2012 to accommodate them within the Scottish leagues?
