It does seem a great pity that this step seems to have been taken without significant fan consultation. Maybe a lesson for the future.

Thought it was a good second half. Some of the young players impressed and I think we have a stronger squad than some people have been given credit for. Jason brown , ali sutherland, rennie all impressed. My team of the day would be Esson Raven warren BROWN mcnaughton Tansey draper Rennie Sutherland polworth Boden Think mulreany looked good but should have passed or crossed quicker. Think brown was quality and might even push meekings hard. Any other thoughts out there.

Wonderful evening for me until now. Victories for Inverness and France. For now.

The new kits look great, really like seeing the stripes back. The badge redesign though... Not good at all. It looks amateurish, like a piece of fan art. A truly naff tagline on to an official crest dilutes the branding, uniqueness and identity to a level you'd expect from a street trader with a stall outside the ground. Really disappointed to see this move and hope that it is returned to the full title sooner (is it too late for this season?) rather than later. I completely agree with Scotty re: suitability on social media, etc. but absolutely not appropriate for a club crest.
  8. Let's hope the Euro experience has a different effect on Fon Williams than it did with yon Romanian fecker

Totally agree with the young CaleyD. These early pre season friendliest are akin to training matches and are as much to do with fitness building and team bonding than anything else. We also have to realise that this side have been playing a particular style of football for some time. The Foran transition unfortunately may take some time. And how can you have shape and a game plan when you change the entire team at half time, plus Brora are no mugs.

The objective in these matches is not winning or to be entertaining....it's about getting a run out, shaking off the cobwebs and the manager trying to get a gauge on where players are at with fitness/sharpness. The only people who can judge how successful the match was are the Manager and Coaches. I've seen pre-seasons where we've gone out and won every friendly, bagging goals by the fistful and had terrible starts to the season....and vice-versa. We saw one trialist and Richie has said he'll be running the rule over another 2 or 3 before the start of the league season...and also that he won't rush any decision as he wants the right players and not just any players. Maybe I'm just getting more chilled about these things in my old age, but I don't get worked up over pre-season matches anymore. I think I might have just had a "turning into my Dad" moment!!!

Aye just saw that, 90th minute. Full time now. Foran remains winless as a manager.

Yup - totally agree. As an ex-pat, its very important (to me) to have Inverness as part of the name of the club on the stuff I wear. Its a source of pride in my home town and my club. It has started many a conversation with some folk commenting on the "beauty" of the name and how it sounds decidedly Scottish with the use of the words Caledonian and Thistle. Other folk have heard of us for one reason or another, whilst a few do indeed comment on how bloody long and how much of a mouthful the name is. ICTFC, and the Pride of the Highlands subtitle whilst handy on social media where brevity is crucial does not have the same effect but it makes sense to have some graphics to support the social media presence or campaigns. I would (will) have no issue wearing merchandise with the short form of ICTFC on it IF I like it (and I do like the new strip), especially around friends in Toronto as my friends all know who I support, just as I know which of them support Hearts, Feyenoord, Coventry, Arsenal etc without looking at the badge ... but I would still rather it had our proper name on it. I do however want the club and the team to continue using the proper badge and name.

The reason we have 'one of the longest club names' in British football is that it reflects a history that goes back a hundred and thirty years. That may not be important to you but it is to many of us.

Just to clarify, my earlier comments were about the general experience of fans attending the game as a whole in the current era and not a specific reference to ICT.
