  1. I bet there are plenty lower crowds than 1000 for early Challenge Cup ties over the years. Actually thought it was a quite decent crowd for 1) The Challenge Cup 2) Against a team we've barely heard of 3) On a Sunday Night 4) Bucketing rain 5) Live on telly.
  2. folks, I'm grateful for the support. I'll make it clear now that I want neither office nor a long term role in this. the most important thing therefore is to get people on board who are willing and able to form a new board that will operate in the interests of the fans. People have already expressed an interest. a modernised and streamlined cjt has a crucial role to play this season and beyond.
  3. Heard from a source at the stadium that it is full expected to go ahead, forecast is good.
  4. As it says on the tin....8.30am inspection.
  5. So....stand up to the TV companies by boycotting matches to sit at home and watch it on TV. That'll show them ? Aside from that...it's not actually the TV companies who are to blame.
  6. Agree with that, and after having seen a lot of early positives from Elbouzedi and then out for such a long period, it was great to see his enthusiasm and quality at the Crusaders game. Still a potentially uncovered gem I feel. Plus I sometimes feel Bell would work better as a winger, with Austin and Oakley up front. Bell struggles a bit with pace and can struggle with timing his runs. This would also free up a space for Daniel Mckay on the bench to do what he does best and come on late to score the winner.
  7. 1 point
Sorry to misunderstand you, cif73. I'm not used to being complimented!
  8. With Austin, Doran, Elbouzedi, Mackay, Bell, Mulraney and Oakley still intact I don't see this as a problem. It's not like he scored hundreds of goals although his work rate was sometimes impressive. However, work rate does not automatically get you goals and that's what he was signed for. Epic fail.
  9. The players do have to take some of the blame, Mackay knew he was on a booking, although I thought the first one wasn't, so he must know if he pushes a player out of the way he will pick up a second. Saying that, on a number of occasions, Crusader players went unpunished for the same offence, which has happened on numerous occasions this season. All we are looking for is consistency from the officials. I have been at games this season when we have had several players booked and not one for our opponents. ICT are not a dirty physical team, but this season looks like turning out to be one of the worst for red cards.
  10. Charles, If there was no ICT support at the league cup final and it was announced that it was due to the ridiculous mid day kick off I assure you we would never have to play at stupid o'clock again in a major match, the TV companies would make sure of that. The TV companies will televise games for as long as they think they can make money from them, if people switch off, the TV money will move elsewhere. The only people making money out of TV deals are the players, if TV money disappears due to viewer apathy, wages will reduce dramatically. I refuse to be yanked around by the TV companies re kick off times, I don't care what the event is, as I said above I didn't go to the league cup final. Before Rome collapsed their highest paid sportsmen were their charioteers and their Chefs were celebrities, sounds familiar?
  11. I agree that with Austin and Oakley available we don't need Baird, simply because he seems the least able of the trio. However I'm pleased Robbo wants to make a couple of loan signings. A right-back please, so McKay can renew his partnership with Donaldson. And I would still make a few overtures across the bridge, where they have so many strikers that surely they'd let us have a shot of a Mr B. Mckay for the run-in?
