  1. I am getting a bit deaf, what has Ruth Davidson got to do with it ?
  2. That would just be a storm in a teacake.
  3. Totally agree. Not only did Robbo have to manage the club in the middle of a pandemic, in circumstances that no other manager in our history has ever had to do, or hopefully has to do again, but he also had to deal with his own personal challenges along the way and the loss of his assistant to illness part way through. And that's before you even go look at the financial side of things and all the other challenges we face there. In those circumstances this season is not one to be judged on! If Robbo chooses to continue, and Kells is able to return then no hesitation in them taking the reins again and having another bash at it. Robbo has taken us to the premiership before and he can do it again. They may even be somewhat refreshed after their down time. If either or both decide that they cannot return for some reason, then, despite initial misgivings about both NM and BD, I would be happy for them to continue also, although I think our status in the championship and lack of funds might pose a problem in being able to persuade the duo to give up more lucrative work in the central belt. Failing that - then I dont know. We certainly can't poach a manager from a premiership club, our current financial situation would not be a good fit for Yogi and his typical budget demands if Uncle Roy punts him, and other than the usual suspects, I dont have a list of inspired names to trot out.
  4. As if they've got a good reputation anyway...
  5. Governing and league bodies across both the men’s and women’s games join forces with clubs to cease activity on social media from 15:00 BST on Friday 30 April to 23:59 BST on Monday 3 May. Not sure if this was aimed at supporter sites and their social media channels, but in the interests of solidarity and because we wholeheartedly support the ethos, we will also cease any and all social media posts from tomorrow until Tuesday. The forum will operate as normal, we just wont be promoting anything to our FB/Twitter etc. #FootballUnites https://www.scottishfa.co.uk/news/scottish-football-unites-to-support-social-media-boycott/?rid=13929
  6. Online abuse in all walks of life should not be accepted and I support the players and teams on this one. I have posted here online my thoughts after a game where I thought a player had a bad game along with players who played well which I would regard as my personal view but would never go online on their twitter and give abuse which is the way it should be.
  7. When did it get some ?
  8. Ignore above ,got sorted.
  9. Well, that is our season effectively over. There were a number of positives, not least the fact that we still have a club to support and it looks like we will have the ability to remain full time next season. Next season is shaping up to be a very different one with the likelelyhood of a full return of fans, the possibilities of 4 Highland derbies and a much more level playing field than for some time with three being no single club in the division with resources much greater than all their rivals. We have a number of positives with the nucleus of a decent settled squad including the ever improving Dave Carson and Daniel McKay now reaching the potential he showed as a 16 year old before injury set back his progress. On that basis, we have the foundation to genuinely challenge for automatic promotion for the first time in three seasons. However, there is a big decision to be made on the managerial and coaching front. I have every sympathy for John Robertson and the personal difficulties he is continuing to face and great appreciation for the 100% effort and commitment he has put into the role of manager over the last four years. That said, we need to take a dispassionate approach and decide whether he is the right man going forward even if he wants to continue with the role. Personally, and with considerable sadness, I doubt that he is. We have been treading water and, to an extent, stagnating over the last couple of years and, until not that many games ago, looked in at least as much danger of occupying a relegation play off spot than a promotion one. There seemed to be to be a clear and obvious uplift in altitude, performance and, most importantly, results when the interim team took over. My inclination would be to see whether McCann and Dodds would be prepared to accept two year contracts on terms within our budget constraints. If not, I would be inclined to look for a keen young manager with a point to make and a reputation to establish. Calum Davidson seems to be fulfilling just such a role at St Johnstone and may yet lead a club with a fan base no bigger than ours and from a city no larger than hours to an incredible cup double. Whatever we decide, it is important that a decision that a manager, new or existing, is in place as soon as possible to prepare for what, if we get it right, could be our most fruitful season for seven years.
  10. Perhaps Tunnocks would be upset if they did not full value for their sponsorship given their wafer thin profitability.

Agree with most of this. Carson only played half the season because of injury so you would normally think it's a bit of a joke to have someone like that up for PoTY but he was excellent in the second half of the season when he featured especially considering the position he had to play in the team. Mackay and Toddy as you say only really hit a good run of form in the second part of the campaign. Allardice started strongly but I think he faded a bit as the season wore one, especially after McCann came in where he seemed to drop off a lot. I don't have him picking up too many MotM points for the last few months. We have a few players who had a strong first or second half of the campaign but none I would say were truly consistent throughout with the possible exception of Ridgers? And people are more likely to remember the good run of form of recent weeks than the barren run where we secured one win in thirteen games a few months back which will almost certainly skew votes towards the likes of Carson. Not to say he wouldn't be worthy winner of course, I'm hovering over the vote button for him as well, but I don't think it's a particularly straightforward choice.
  12. wynthank incoming in 3...2...1...
  13. The problems are that nothing can be arranged as long as Raith are in the play offs, whilst we will be rusty by the time it could be played, and will probably have let the players start their summer break, as there is no reason to have them training after Friday’s game. That would put us at a disadvantage so it is unlikely the club would agree to a late May date. Early next season could be a possibility, and hopefully crowds are back then. However, I agree with others, and would be happy if they declared us joint winners and we can focus on next season.

Toddy for me, as good as Benzema last night. Great control to bring it down from that height and hit it before it hit the ground whilst under pressure. Tremendous.
  15. John Hughes is the very last person I would want managing my club. Thankfully, there is no prospect of it happening.
  16. Hopefully we can delete/ close this thread soon!🤮
  17. Not sure if I would put my money on Yogi or not (assuming Robbo leaves and Neil doesn't want the job)...on one hand he's a legend at the club and has shown he's can do things that nobody could have foreseen, but on the other he's had (just about) back to back relegations with two different clubs...
  18. The bit I have bolded is interesting 😯. I do understand your reasoning though and also believe may be right regarding Neil McCann not wanting it, though I do think that Scot Gardiner and Ross Morrison would try their damn hardest to get him to change his mind and take ovwr over the hotseat, but probably to no avail. if that were the case then I would be inclined to want us to go for a younger manager ( I am not alone, I read another poster on another thread saying exactly the same) looking to make their first foray into management, however I can't think of any specific candidate(s). I would be certain that the usual names would be bandied about: Paul Sheerin, Maurice Malpas, Martin Canning, Stuart Kettlewell etc by media/newspaper journalists. Hey its good to know I'm n ot alone lol, this prediction malarkey isn't easy though :L.
  19. Just split the sponsorship prize money between the two finalists and move on.
