  1. I’m hoping both sides are fielding ineligible players.

  2. Maybe we offer him a 6 month contract so he can start and finish a season but we get someone in to do the mid season winter period

  3. As far as I am concerned I would be wholly content with a play off place and a Cup Final appearance. Those in themselves would completely surpass any expectations at the start of the season. Even seers cant predict automatic promotion.

  4. Let’s do it for Tomack. He would certainly have scared off the Fat Lady. Onwards and upwards

  5. Crunch Time Big game in the Highlands on Saturday as Champions in waiting Dundee head North to the Caledonian Stadium. It's a 3:00pm kick-off, and a big following is expected as the Dark Blues look to get the automatic promotion slot ahead of the imploding Queens Park and the unlikely trio of Ayr United, Morton and Inverness who are making a late bid for the top four. There will be a minutes applause ahead of kick-off in memory of former groundsman Tommy Cumming who passed away on 20th April. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Tommy Cumming RIP Match/Ticket info Your Cub Needs You Scottish Cup Tickets/Travel AGM ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Venue Pld Won Drn Lst For Agst + / - Home 17 7 8 2 27 16 +11 Away 21 7 9 5 29 26 +3 Neutral 2 0 0 2 2 4 -2 Total 40 14 17 9 58 46 +12 Overall we still hold the advantage over Dundee in the forty games played. Naughty boy Paul McGowan was not in the squad. Inverness were still without 75% of their first picks but Daniel Mackay made his comeback last week and Ryan Barrett made his debut against Stirling in the Cup. Paul McMullan opened the scoring midway through the first half after cutting in from the left before curling past Cammy Mackay. Almost a second as the ball deflected onto the bar before Mackay picked up the rebound after the half hour. George Oakley missed what appeared to be a sitter from eight yards as half time approached as Aaron Doran swung in an inviting cross. With no further scoring in the second half, Dundee took the three points and Inverness remain in sixth place, but starting to slip off the pace. Last Time Out The games have been coming thick and fast for the Caley Jags in April. However we have stood firm and handled the pressure well so far. It began well with a 2-1 win at Morton on 1st April. Raith Rovers were despatched 2-0 a week later. A midweek win saw Arbroath go down by the same score before we came from behind to beat a determined Cove Rangers 2-1 at Balmoral Stadium. Then our nemesis, Hamilton Accies. We had to come from behind again with goals from Nathan Shaw and an 88th minute strike from Billy Mckay to earn the points. Billy is now on 98 goals chasing the all time record of 101 by Dennis Wyness. W W W W W W Dundee had to come from 3-1 down at home to Morton to snatch a 94th minute equaliser. Kwame Thomas was the man responsible for rescuing a point when defeat was staring them in the face with twenty minutes left. Luke Hannant levelled the game in the first half but Morton established a two goal lead before Thomas saved the day with two late strikes. He certainly carries a threat and has linked up well with Nathan Shaw recently. Duffy, MacGregor and Ram all missed out at Hamilton. Hopefully no new injuries but it's been a tough schedule in recent weeks and there will be some weary legs around the Caledonian Stadium. Pretty much confirmed that Sutherland and Walsh will probably see no action this season. Dundee starting XI v Morton last week Legzdins Mulligan Sweeney Ashcroft Marshall McCowan Maguire Cameron Hannant Jakubiak Robinson Full bench as well: Kerr, Byrne, Thomas, McMullan, Lawlor, Williamson, Fisher, Clampin, Reedy Here's hoping they can keep McMullan on the bench. He has been a thorn in our side in recent years and scored a good goal in the win at the Caledonian Stadium back in December.

  7. Just read on courier website that groundsman extraordinaire Tommy Cumming has passed away. Very sad news. A definite character who kept our pitch in perfect condition for years. Had many interesting conversations with him over the years. (just dont mention undersoil heating!!!) . I have one specific memory of him being very nice to my son when he first visited the stadium ... giving him permission to ignore the 'keep off the grass' sign and walking with him on the pitch, then giving me a row when i followed ... my son loved it and I knew he was on the wind-up (i think). Team will wear black armbands this weekend and observe a minute of applause. Definitely merited for the huge contribution he made to our club. Condolences to his loved ones. RIP Tommy, you will be missed. https://www.inverness-courier.co.uk/sport/tributes-paid-to-inverness-caledonian-thistle-groundsman-who-311070/ https://ictfc.com/tribute-to-tommy-cumming/

  8. Even if we lose tomorrow the play offs are in our own hands if we beat Ayr. A win tomorrow and a draw with Ayr gets us there. If Ayr slip up next week that helps too!

  9. Really is must win now. Nail-biting even for a play off place

  10. If QP draw with Ayr tonight the permutations still work for us. It also adds the benefit of Ayr dropping points.

  11. A draw suits us. Ayr slip up and we remain ahead of them, whilst caleyhedgehog’s dream of us winning the title remains alive….

  12. Yup, I’ll be cheering on Queen’s Park tonight. It’s too late in the season for that, let’s just secure the playoffs and keep the season going as long as we can.

  13. That’s not good. We are at our worst when we think like that. I’m worried we will slip up tomorrow now.

  14. The problem with Dodds is that we have had mid season slumps this season and last which have potentially cost us the Championship. While injuries have played a part this season, Dodds was culpable on both occasions by not altering tactics or team selections until it was too late (for example the home win against Arbroath last season which then kick started our run to the play offs). I simply don't believe he can change things tactically when needed and that has cost us big time. We do need fresh blood at the club and Kellagher and Wilson need to go as well

  15. Even Billy Mckay is starting to talk openly about aiming for 2nd spot (P&J today). C'mon Billy - you are all good enough to win the league I hope - just keep winning and hopefully the rest will take care of itself. Super Caley (Thistle) go Ballistic.

  16. A massive weekend of football and results ahead of us. ICT can only win their game and fingers crossed that the rest of the results go our way. Even Billy Dodds mentioned the possibility of winning the league in today's P&J, so here's hoping that Dundee and Queen's Park are feeling very jittery. C'mon ICT - you can do it.
