  1. I am no longer on the Supporters Trust Board and so can't speak on their behalf, but I am the immediate past Chair and therefore can give some informed comment on the interactions between the Trust and the Club, and how it tries to represent the wider fan base. It is true that the Trust could be more active on this forum, but it does take note of issues that are raised here and takes some of these to the Club. However, the problem is that when these issues are brought up, the stock response is that the Club is not going to make changes just because a handful of people on social media are having a moan about something. When the Trust responds that as the representative fans body, and having spoken with others, they believe this to be a wider concern, the club dismisses the claim of the the Trust to be representative due to the level of its membership. This is a major reason why the Trust carried out the Supporters Matchday Survey earlier in the year. This survey asked fans about a wide range of issues associated with the matchday experience and, as a result, the report will provide views of a large and generally representative number of fans. Where the survey reveals a general unhappiness regarding a specific topic it will therefore not be possible to dismiss it as the views of a small minority of folk who like to moan. The survey has involved a lot of work and should mark a significant milestone in developing the collaborative working between the Club and its supporters through the Trust. My understanding is that the Trust Board will be meeting Club representatives next week regarding the survey report and that the report will be issued more widely soon after. Hopefully, the report will pave the way for some detailed interactions on a range of issues and that this will provide opportunities for a wide range of people to get involved. It is true that the Trust is nothing like as representative as it should be or as the Trust Board would like it to be. And it needs to be more representative if the Trust is to effectively engage with the club in exploring the issued raised by the survey. The Trust has regularly reached out to the wider fan base to get more involved, but if people don't want to join or help in the aims of the Trust, the Board can't force them to! Hopefully the survey report will convince many more people of the value of having a strong and representative Supporters Trust to be the link between the fans and the Club. This is why it is so exasperating for Trust Board members to read people criticising the Trust and giving excuses as to why they don't join. Every time someone does that it makes it easier for the Club to say the Trust is not representative. It also makes it harder for the Trust to do the very things people are criticising them for not doing. If you think the Trust should be doing more, join it and help them do it!
  2. Being one of the hardy 121 at Dens I thought we played reasonably well and felt a draw would have been a fairer scoreline. I was very impressed by young Keith Bray who looks a real prospect and will be very unhappy if we punt him out on loan. Three defeats is concerning but I remain relatively optimistic for Queen's Park on Saturday.
  3. Thank fork pre-season is finished. One of the worst on record for trolls coming out of the woodwork and spouting utter drivel. Let the new season begin.
  4. Watch all 102 goals here: https://ictfc.com/watch-all-of-billys-mckay-102-record-breaking-goals-for-the-club/ A lot of great memories there.
  5. Last chance to impress Dens Park is the venue on Sunday for what will be our final league cup game of this 'pre-season' in a 3:00pm kick-off. All is lost as it's only the three best second placed teams that qualify for the knockout stages. In the other game in group E, Airdrie take on Bonnyrigg with Dumbarton having played all their games. The best we can take from Dens Park/Kilmac Stadium is to find out our best starting XI and get more game time and understanding amongst the players before we open our Championship account against Queens Park next Saturday. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Match Info/Tickets/Supporters Bus Ethan Cairns & Harry Hennem on Loan £££Cash turnstile for ICT Fans on the day£££ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Team P W D L GF GA GD Pts 1 Air 4 4 0 0 7 2 5 12 2 Dun 3 2 0 1 4 2 2 6 3 Dum 4 1 1 2 3 6 -3 5 4 ICT 3 1 0 2 5 6 -1 3 5 Bon 4 0 1 3 1 4 -3 1 Airdrie beat Bonnyrigg 1-0 on Saturday to win the group and be the seeded team in the draw. Dundee will need to beat us to have any chance of being one of the three best second placed teams to progress. They will also need to add some goals to boost their chances of qualifying. We just need to turn up and get some serious practice ahead of the Championship Season next weekend. It could be a long day... Latest Team News Sean Welsh and Roddy MacGregor missed out against Airdrie but Welsh will be fit although Roddy might be better waiting another week. Lewis Nicolson has injured his knee and will be out for some time. Keith Bray was a stand-out in the second half against Airdrie with Nathan Shaw looking the most likely to add a few assists from his creative wing play. Luis Longstaff might have potential, only game time will tell. However, our defence needs to cut out the glaring individual errors which have blighted our games so far. Harry Lodovica is still a target and is expected to sign once the paperwork is sorted out. Harry is in the building and good to go! Dundee are in the big boys league now. Decent squad with plenty in reserve. By all accounts the two Mexicans are excellent acquisitions. They have added to their attacking options with the addition of physical striker Amadou Bakayoko on loan from Forest Green Rovers. Here's their squad from the 3-1 win over Dumbarton: Legzdins Portales Shaughnessy Ashcroft (Robertson 83) Mulligan Boateng McGhee Tiffoney Beck Robinson Pineda (Cameron 67) Subs not used: McCracken; Kerr, Byrne, Rudden, Anderson, Sharp, Wilkie
  6. Another disappointing start to the season : hopefully we can start positively in the league and press on. We can but hope...
  7. Samuels is hopeless and needs to be dropped immediately! Worst supposed forward ever
  8. We won the first six league games last season did we not and look what happened . Bar the cup final that was due to a technicality we had a bloody awful season .
  9. No Gimour, Devine, Brooks, Welsh, Macgregor or Nicolson, and not enough players to fill the bench, but yet we loan out two players to Highland League teams! You couldn't make it up.
  10. In your eyes the club is incapable of doing anything right! Anyway we lost 1-0 so we can forget the League Cup now and focus on the league campaign. We didn’t beat Queens Park in the league last season (and only by default in the cup) so we are due a win against them. They’ve also had a poor cup group campaign.
  11. Aye, they must have copied mine 😎😂
  12. I got an e-mail from the club this morning with their match preview and the other news stories they’d issued this week. Hopefully a sign of better engagement and communication?
  13. Inter Club Escaldes are not even the best side in Andorra. In fact they are not even the best side in the village of Escalades!
  14. Amid all the doom and gloom, let’s take a moment to praise Billy on scoring his 102nd goal for us and becoming our all time record goal scorer. Its a shame goals 101 and 102 came in defeats, but he continues to show his value and commitment to the club. His work rate is immense and he is a great role model for our younger players. The achievement is well deserved and I hope there are many goals in him during the rest of his time with us. Well done Billy!
  15. If you are happy with our utterly ABYSMAL league cup campaign then you must be easy to please because it was a complete JOKE of a campaign and imho totally unacceptable, to only win ONE f***ing match (amd even that was unconvincing) in a group that had Dumbarton and Bonnyrigg in it is failure of the highest standard, I accept losing to Dundee as they are a league above, and Airdrie because their now in our league and may surprise a few teams. What I am livid at though and will not tolerate is losing to a LEAGUE 2 team, no disrespect to them but I expect us to beat them even if it is a nervy win so I'm afraid that, ONCE AGAIN, Mr Dudds needs to take responsibility for this and stop coming up with crap excuses that us fans don't accept! I'm sorry if I have upset people but I expect better from the team and am not afraid to tell it as it is!
  16. Yup, I make that about 6 out of the last 7 years we haven’t qualified for the last 16 🤷‍♂️
  17. The club’s report is out quickly: https://ictfc.com/match-report-dundee-1-0-ictfc-30-07-2023/
  18. Sorry time flies 😂
  19. Classic 😂😂😂 It would have taken less time to type the list!
  20. Feel free to provide me with a list of things which are contrary to that view and I'll reconsider my opinion.
  21. Our first success this season - keeping the score down to 1-0 and eliminating Dundee from the competition. Max Ram back and a few others getting invaluable experience or game time. In retrospect it might have helped if the Club had made it clear that because of the Cup Final players were required to have 28 days rest...and that as a result, the League Cup was a bigger challenge for us this season because of the Cup Final late date in the previous season.
  22. An unsurprising defeat away to a Premier league side. 1-0 not too bad considering this was by no means our strongest side, but the injury list is a bit concerning.
  23. Fully expect to see him punted our on the wing after a few games and doddsball continued unsuccessfully to Billy as per previous seasons
  24. That BBC Scotland coverage is about 2 mins behind. I’m in Shetland and the carrier pigeon got here before it.
  25. Pleased that Big Harry has been signed. Big challenge for him but his height up front changes our attacking options.
  26. Just a wee afterthought, the orange strip will go down well at Dens Park just sayin.
  27. Well said DD. Im a member of the ST but other commitments mean I’ve been unable to do more. BC mentioned that the ST must have agreed to the Manager’s new contract. That will not be the case. Shareholders get their say about company business at the AGM in the main but business decisions (contracts, signings etc) are down to those running the club. Presumably the Board delegate powers to the CEO and Manager up to set financial thresholds and if they wish to go outwith those thresholds they need to consult the Board. For the Manager’s contract I’d think the CEO would have consulted the Chairman and possibly the full Board, but definitely not any shareholders.
  28. It’s a balance. By my reckoning we have 26 players signed, including youngsters Hennem, Cairns, Thomson, Bray, Strachan and Calum Mackay, so letting those unlikely to get game time (or maybe not even make the bench) go on loan makes sense. I take the point about injuries, and we’ve already lost Nicolson for an extended period, but hopefully we won’t suffer the same issues as last season.
  29. If anyone wants to tag Dodds and the club on this right now, it'll get the excuse set up nice and early this year
  30. Welsh and Devine not even on the bench. Roddy injured. Getting the fear already…
  31. Not necessarily. Spreading and distributing poor info/communication via more outlets does not improve the quality. It just means that more people will be subjected to it.
  32. Cairns would never play regular for us,he's too tall and might actually win an ariel challenge
  33. So you read the thread title and you're still confused?
