  1. Yeah, I get that. At my age you've seen plenty of language evolving before your eyes, but that doesn't mean I can't have a moan about it when the evolved version makes no sense Next time Mrs Mantis serves me up a rice pudding, I'll look in it for the proof. A few fairly recent football expressions that fairly rip my knitting: "on the front foot" "hopefully we can kick on" "playing two up top" - it's not a xmas tree ffs "buying a free kick" - what? "in and around" I blame you, Alan Shearer. How can you be in and around a player? "subtitute" and "vunrable" Not to mention non-readers who hear phrases such as "prima-donna" and render them as "pre-Madonna"... maybe Lady Gaga is "post-Madonna". And "we equipped ourselves well" instead of "acquitted". Also a bit disheartening to hear the ACC of Merseyside Police this week talking about "grevious bodily harm". I dodged a bullet by not forking out 40 quid to watch that dross at Hampden last night. Instead I got to suffer BBC Scotland's very own squeaky pet hamster who obviously couldn't be ersed doing his research on how to pronounce the Icelandic players. So even though Thommo seemed to have mastered Thórdarson and Thorsteinsson, his wee pal insisted on calling them Pordarson and Porsteinsson, totally unaware of the Þ character in the Icelandic alphabet. Anyway, apologies for taking the thread off topic. The mods (beaks) will likely impose a ban.

  2. We needed a result after Greece and we got one. A terrible result, but a result nevertheless. There's a window of opportunity but early doors, I think we can see the light at the end of the carrot. After all, if you don't believe you can win, there's no point getting out of bed at the end of the day.

  3. Calm down. No need to act like a bowl in a China shop. Noone is making you the escape goat. Anyway, I thought it was "the proof was in the pudding" from the gecko.

  15. Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC are delighted to announce 2025/26 Season Tickets will be available from Monday 9th June 2025 at 10am from the Club Shop and online from eticketing.co.uk/ictfc The club have worked closely with the ICT Supporters Trust with the regards to Season Ticket pricing and are delighted to announce a reduction in price from last season across Adult/Over 65s categories. Also the extension of the 18-20 category from last season to now include 21 year-olds and students with valid ID. The club wanted to reward fans for their loyalty and vital backing during a challenging season last year, and feel the new season ticket prices reflect that. The new club management were keen to consult and work with the Supporters Trust regarding Season Ticket prices and have brought all season tickets under £300, including for those who did not have a season ticket last season and are looking to rejoin us for the new campaign. The club hopes with the outstanding finish to last year from the team, and the positive changes currently ongoing, that supporters will continue to get right behind Scott Kellacher and his players next season. Full Price Tables for 2025/26 Season Tickets can be found below: Andrew Benjamin, ICTFC Commercial Manager, said: “It was a pleasure working with the Supporters Trust from the very start on this season’s ticket pricing and listening to fan feedback. Everyone at the club knows just how important it is to reward the incredible loyalty our fans continue to show. These renewal prices are a reflection of that appreciation. We also want to warmly welcome back anyone who’s been away from the club for a while, there’s never been a better time to return and be part of something special. The fantastic turnout of 2,400 at our final home game last season showed the strength of our community, and together, we’re excited to keep that energy growing into the new season and beyond. George Moodie, ICT Supporters Trust Chairman, said: “The Supporters Trust were delighted to work closely with the club on this year’s season tickets, I would like to thank the club for their efforts & support . We were involved right from the start, where we were able to provide input to the pricing & bandings. It really highlights the positive collaboration between Supporters and the Football Club just now and highlights what can be achieved through strong open communication.” “It was important to the Supporters Trust that all fans who got behind the team last season were rewarded for their loyal support with a discounted renewal for the new season ahead. I hope that everyone can get behind the club and purchase their season tickets early so we can prepare for what will hopefully be an exciting season ahead.” “Whilst renewing your Season Ticket, why not also join the Supporters Trust as well this season for only £5. 17. Tommy always was a good judge of character Happy that he appears to have been right about AS as well. The entire press conference is linked on this thread both in audio and video. You will note there is no mention of this anywhere. Have a feeling that AS is more likely to announce this as and when anything is a done deal rather than before the ink is dry on any contract. Charlie is in with the bricks. He is going nowhere. Him, Graeme Bennett, and Kells are the preferred dream team in terms of creating a triumvirate spanning the team, board, and back office. When those three areas are aligned, we have traditionally done well and every one of them is motivated to do so and for once, the backroom leaders understand things given that both played for the club too. AS will oversee it as he noted and others will be brought on. It all sounds pretty positive, especially considering where we could have been ... but as CaleyD notes, the proof is in the pudding.

  19. I am sure that Tommy, wherever he may be, is looking on with relief and great satisfaction, now in the knowledge that football will continue to be played on (what several of Caley Thistle’s foreign players must have thought was the standard English expression for a playing surface)… “ma f***en pitch”. Tommy absolutely loathed Gardiner and I am told that it had been his fervent desire to live long enough to see Gardiner leave the building. Unfortunately Tommy didn’t quite make that but - again wherever he is - I am sure that he will now be just as fulfilled in seeing that wish also granted…. commendably abruptly by Alan Savage!
