This might actually work out quite well for Gil. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt so far and think he's been a victim of trying too hard to impress in a team that's still finding it's feet while he is still very new to this level himself. A few enforced weeks out of contention then coming back into a more settled squad with defined roles and purpose may be exactly what he needs. Having said that, I'd love to see Roy getting a run in the side. He's still capable of playing that left midfield role, even if he doesn't offer as much going forward as Foran does.2 points

I would really like to thank the shop and Laura for their very quick result. They have agreed to send me a shirt because of the problems that I had, as directed by Kenny. Many thanks, and a very quick and sincere result. Well done.1 point

I think the reputation button is a good idea as long as everybody uses it in the spirit it is intended. Where someone makes a particularly good post it is good to acknowledge it. Without the reputation button the only option is to write a brief reply to say "totally agree" "good post" or whatever which really adds nothing to the thread but wastes time for others reading the thread. It is also good to express a negative view of posts without putting yourself in the firing line of criticising others. If a post is in bad taste then it is good that the poster should know that others are not impressed. In general, I think it is working pretty well although inevitably there seem to be one or two good posts being marked down and some moronic or distasteful ones marked up. My gripe with the system as it is, is that you are limited to the number of buttons you can push each day. Some days there may be several comments which you would like to mark up or down, but you can't. Also, some folk will access the site only every few days or so and therefore can mark up or down less than those who access everyday. My answer would be to allocate members a plus and minus "vote" each day which becomes cumulative. That way members would be free to mark posts up or down when they saw fit but there would be little opportunity for folk to vote a post up or down just because they can. As for IHE, he seems to be the one victim of the system. Are there a small number of folk constantly voting him down just for the hell of it? He has a somewhat individual style which some folk may not like but several pretty normal posts of his which would probably not have been marked down had anybody else posted them have been marked down. Many of IHEs posts give many of us a good laugh and his matchday assessments are usually spot on. I for one would not want to see IHE change and I am sure his reputation sccore conceals the fact that a lot of positive buttons have been pushed. Keep it feckin coming IHE!1 point

I thought it showed the game in it's true light. We were overrun in the second half and could not muster a decent attempt on goal. Celtic on the other hand swamped us. We were the better team for twenty minutes or so, then reverted to type. Small team fans mentality going on here. If we had the chances that Celtic had I am sure they would have been on the highlights.1 point

4-2-3-1 has to be the formation. It took most of last season to find that formula - why play more defensively against the old firm or anyone else? Iv got every confidence our players can cause defences havoc and our back line to be solid enough when using last seasons formation.1 point

People need to stop having little digs at the main stand because it is discouraging the few fans who do make noise to stop I'm not having a dig at the Main Stand. Rather pointing out the fact that this normally silent area of the stadium actually made some noise yesterday. Simple.1 point

'Kingsmells'!? What kind of post is that? There is no 'd' in privilege but there is in 'idiot'. If this was a slip of the finger on the keyboard then I will apologise for calling you an idiot - but I suspect that it was just another mindless comment of the type that turns people away from posting on this forum.-1 points

Butcher is either going to have to sign another striker and put foran on the wing again or sign another winger and put foran upfront along with rooney-1 points

I can count at least 3 occasions that either McCann or Gillet came from wide to make crucial challenges inside the box. You can't have it both ways that they push forward to support the wide men and also come inside to protect the centre backs. Both players gave an excellent account of themselves when playing against 2 attacking wide players, unfortunately, the 1 occasion McCann let McCourt cut inside him lead to the goal... even then it was Cox that could've done a lot better to prevent a shot coming in. Agree about Rossco, he was caught out of position on a few occasion because he was so eager to push up the pitch and help attack. Tel will hopefully tell him to be more disciplined in future and it shouldn't be an issue... only happended on a couple of occasions mind and for the rest of the game I thought he was outstanding. Honestly don't know how you can get on at Munro.. he was probably my pick out of the 4. He even played a couple of inch perfect diagonals to Hayes!! Captaincy should only be questioned if there is not enough commitment or orginisation, both of which we had plenty of on Saturday. Have to say that the interceptions were mainly when there was a dead ball situation or a more packed goalmouth - I was referring to Cellic attacking on the break - especially in the first half when both full backs tended to stay wide instead of tucking in. I did say that both accounted well enuff. It wasnt meant to be a criticism of Granty - I was trying to say that he never really has had a competent partner since the Machine and has suffered by having to cover others. He isnt the captain any more which probably says a lot. Of course he is committed but not shure about being organised - just think esson would be more effective. And as I also stated we have a management team who should be well able to sort that out. But what do you think of playing Nick Ross on the wrong wing and the wrong foot !!!-1 points

Montrose 0-0 Inverness CT - Play Off 1st Leg
tm4tj posted an article in Reports 2023-24,
FULL TIME: 0-0
All to play for on Saturday, but don't hold your breath...
However, if we continue like this, it will be our final game this season.
Best performer for us was Samson Lawal, the only bright spark on the field.
Alloa 2-2 Hamilton was the other semi-final score tonight. On this evidence, I doubt either side will be quaking in their boots.

Inverness CT 3-1 Morton - Report
tm4tj posted an article in Reports 2023-24,
It was a lovely evening for a game of football, what could possibly go wrong? Well, what did go wrong was Queen's Park beat an understrength Airdrie 2-0 at Hampden, therefore despite beating Morton 3-1, Inverness head for the play-offs. Morgan Boyes opened the scoring with a thumping volley after half an hour. Kirk Broadfoot benefited from slack defending to level before the break then proceeded to earn the wrath of the home support with an embarrassing celebration in front of the North Stand. Cammy Harper relieved Billy Mckay of penalty kick duties and duly slotted home from the spot ten minutes after the break. The scoring was completed just after the hour when Sean McAllister drilled home into the bottom corner. Robbie Muirhead had been sent off for simulation then taking a wee fit to himself and was promptly sent off after 58 minutes just after Harper had knocked in his penalty kick, probably aggrieved that he never earned a spot kick for his dramatic dive.

Inverness CT -V- Morton - Preview
tm4tj posted an article in Previews 2023-24,
Well, where do you start. It was clear from the begining of the season that something was wrong. Poor signings, dismal performances in the League Cup followed by an abysmal start to the League campaign saw Billy Dodds removed from his position after winning one point in the first six Championship fixtures and replaced by a man with no track record as a manager. A sort of publicity stunt if you like. After the initial new manager bounce wore off, we found ourselves little better off with Big Dunc than we were with wee Billy. We did claw ourselves up to the coat tails of others but the most damning part of our season has been our inability to score goals, especially at home. Only already relegated Arbroath are worse than us. Our team is now full of mercenaries, loan players with no affiliation to our Highland pedigree and many fans have tagged us as being the worst squad ever in our short history. Where are the Golabeck's, Tokeley's, Wilson's..... Much of this can be attributed to our lack of financial nous in the boardroom, failed ventures and now the begging bowls are being put in place to save our club. Having drawn at Dunfermline last week thanks to Aribim Pepple's first goal for the club combined with Billy Mckay's penalty miss, it's now out of our own hands. LAST SIX: D L W W L D

Dunfermline 1-1 Inverness CT - Report
tm4tj posted an article in Reports 2023-24,
Out of our hands now: It ended in disappointment for the 319 visiting fans with news that Queens Park had hammered Arbroath 0-5. To rub salt into the wounds, Sheridan and Welsh were amongst the scorers. It's out of our hands now, but it's a must win next Friday and hope Queens Park falter. Inverness play Morton and Queens play Airdrie. A draw might be enough, but it's a long shot.
I'm not convinced that Billy Mckay was the right man to be taking that penalty, his second failure from the spot in successive games against the Pars.-

Dunfermline Ath -V- Inverness CT - Preview
tm4tj posted an article in Previews 2023-24,
Aaron Doran looks likely to have pulled on the Caley Jags strip for the last time after limping off against Raith Rovers last Friday. Sean McAllister returning was a bonus though but the mystery deepens as to why Roddy MacGregor, Austin Samuels and Nikola Ujdur are not featuring either on the injury list or the team list. Baffling to be honest as Roddy has the midfield attributes required, Austin has the speed and potential and Nikola in my opinion, if fit, would be my first choice on the team sheet. Are these guys on the way out? Add to that seven or eight loan players, then next season will see a massive restructure and rebuild at the Caledonian Stadium. I imagine the board members are squirming in their seats like Angela van den Bogerd at a Post Office inquiry.-
