A fair number of people down here I deal with everyday assume Scotland is a third world country and its football clubs play on public parks. Not many of them have any interest or knowledge in North/South, East/West, Emerald/Orange etc etc divides, most of them would describe anywhere in Scotland as a scene from Take the High Road, not just the Highlands. In Scotland, the self loathing outlook from the likes of Bannerman is as parochial and out of touch as any face painted tartan army pleb. I consider everybody with pro or anti patriotic views as dinosaurs. There's only one barrier between people on this planet and it isn't a border, a bridge or a flag, its economic. I have more in common with a working class Iraqi, Pole or an Nigerian than I do the white British millionaires living down the street from me. Unless you can react to the linked article as just the misinformed ignorrant view of one man regardless of nationality, as Kingsmills has said, then you'll spend your whole life fighting battles that don't exist.

Can somebody work out how many points we would we have if games finished on the 89th minute? We're doing unbelievably well to get into winning positions. Sadly once we have our noses in front the whole side get nervous and start hoofing balls all over the place, which does nothing but invite pressure. Our greatest assets are all up top, at all times we should be keeping Shinnie, Doran etc as far up the park as possible. Not only does it force the losing team to keep the 'big men' back but it gives us an outlet for clearances. This all hands to the pump bollocks is ruining what should be our best ever season. Looking at the league table its mind blowing the number of times we've all felt deflated after a match, its not as if we're losing 5-0 every week. Infact the couple of times we have been hammered the mood tends to be reasonably upbeat. So pats on the back for everyone for getting a job almost half done, 18 games in now, how about we learn a lesson from the late goals that have kept us off the top of the league for the last 18 matches for the new year? Everybody reading this should consider that this is our best chance to win the SPL in all of our lifetimes, this weak a league won't come around again. NO PRESSURE

Being blatantly filmed at a football match that - in the grander scheme of things - must be negligible on 'incident' potential is a pathetic waste of police resources. Ever since I got filmed in Inverness (sitting next to a scary CaleyD with his subversive A4 poster) at the time of the Brewster shoe-gate attrocities I realised security at Scottish Football lacked any sense of proportion or professional integrity, let alone customer care in respect of the 'paying public'. It's why I hate visiting TCS. And I'm a shareholder.

As I posted at the start of the season my expectation was for at least 1 good cup run and to be competing for top 6. So far the team is on track, looking at the league, its tight for top 6 with anyone winning 2 or 3 games on the bounce firing up a few places - we just need to remain consistent. As for the cup, Hearts will only get weaker in Jan, so I now have high expectations we may get to a final. If we manage the above I would classify the season as a huge success and TB proved he is 'the man for the job' :)

Unless there's been some editing going on, I don't see a lot there that can be described as patronising. And it definitely is as others see us........ I would make a couple of points related to the football though (yes!!!!!). The SPL is a poor standard, but you only need to look at some of TB's signings to realise it's not that bad. Eagle, Stratford, anyone? Even people like Tansey who made a lot of appearances but looked like a headless chicken if you ask me. A poor man's Russell Duncan. Gary Warren coming from Newport is not typical. He gave up a teaching career to go full time so would probably have gone upwards anyway. It seems to me that only players who have at least a decent bit of league one experience can hack the SPL. People from the subs bench or league two seldom have it but we're forever told our league is no better than league two. It's usually more about wages than ability. Which brings me to..... TV has contributed more than anything else to the sinking of standards in small nations. I could see it coming about 20 years ago when I first ventured over the pond and took in some baseball. Below the elite major league there is nothing but minor league baseball playing to about 100 fans. Fast forward to the Champions' League and the Carling Premiership. The elite get stronger and the rest get weaker. Diddy clubs such as reading and qpr turn over about twice as much as the OF because of the TV money. Chelsea are not a big club, just a rich club. Before the coming of wall-to-wall TV, English clubs actually had to send a full strength team out to play Scots clubs, even in friendlies, because they might lose otherwise. Up till about the 1980s Scotland actually had more international wins head to head than England. Sport and satellite TV is part of the free market of course, so no use whingeing about it: however the good old BBC is public service, yet they still pay astronomical sums for highlights on MOTD while they do not support the SPL in the same proportion.

The point I was making was that people from both England and central Scotland tend to think and write patronising drivel about Highlanders and The Highlands, but to some extent we ask for it through the manner in which we caricature ourselves. What a lot of bullshit Charles. Who are the "experts"? The main stream media in Scotland have a pro Union agenda for some reason and slip in snippets like this several times a day. It's tedious and only playing into YesScotland's hands. Tell us what to think and we'll wonder why and spend more time thinking for ourselves. Try dumbing us down like you do in your day job and it'll backfire.

What an absolutely incredible day! At 2-0 down, there was nothing but shock at the woeful defending. There can't be that much argument for the third. It was a well worked and well executed goal. However, credit to my fellow chanters in the Lower Tier (particularly BigMac and Govan Jaggie), who at 3-0 down started chanting 'We're gonna win 4-3' and '4-3 to the Caley Jags'... There were a few little looks from the bench as if to say 'are they crazy', but once Billy got his first, I think belief eventually set in. The second goal came whilst Yompa was tucking into his corned beef piece, to which a chant was heard briefly aimed at the magical powers of said sandwich (and Capital Caley's? Cup of tea). 4-3 up was absolutely unbelievable and even at the time of the penalty I thought the ref blew for a foul on Foran. It was only seeing the players surround him that I knew he'd given a penalty. (Having watched it back on slow-mo and on BBC Alba, NEVER was it a penatly. Blatant push by Daly on Foran). Overall, I can't complain at getting a point. I'd said before the game that it would be a 'must not lose' and that I would settle for a draw. With us being up against the bottom three in the league for our next three fixtures we could see ourselves still up there come new year. But the lads can't be complacent and think these games will be a given, particularly as we play our Shadows at their place.

Gutted but we can't be hard on ourselves. We have lost a last minute equaliser (for reasons outside of our control) but lets remember where we have come from not only today but on a whole. Play this game last year and after tens minutes, we would have been on for a very heavy defeat. The lads looked really gutted at the end which shows just how much this means to them. This is a really special team we have so lets play our part and get right behind the team and remind them that our unbeaten run is still intact. They deserve all the praise that we should be giving them. Stand up for the Caley Jags

Reading this weeks North Star at the in-laws just now. Rather amusing. Adams still bleeting on the same old rubbish and the North Star completely agrees with him lol! I agree with DJS that someone ought to have a word very soon about his behaviour, buts lets be honest here, this is County we're talking about. The whole region north of the bridge is seething in bitter jealousy because they thought after last year they were now the Highlands best. But sadly after only 3 games against us they are beginning to realise that its still the same and we are actually better than ever. And they are seeeeeeeeeeeeething about it! And what im i doing? Sitting back, watching the turmoil, laughing my tits off! :D WE ARE CALEY
