Train 1 will have a capacity of 400 seats and will depart Inverness Station at 09:00. It will return from Glasgow Queen Street at 17:52. Because of the generous assistance of The Highland council and the cooperation of First Scotrail, we are able to limit return fares to £30 for adults and £10 for children. These tickets are only available through CJT after 1st March and cannot be purchased anywhere else. They will be for sale in the Sports Bar at Tulloch Caledonian Stadium (cash only) on 9th March before and after the game against Dundee United and at other outlets before that. You can reserve yours on 07951 309 504 or at ictfcfinaltrain2014@gmail.com If train 1 sells out, another will be provided, so get your tickets and get on board as soon as details are announced! We are particularly pleased to offer child tickets at a rate that cannot be matched anywhere else because of the generous assistance of The Highland Council. We, like The Council and First Scotrail recognise the importance of involving young people in sport and this occasion will go a long way towards achieving that aim. Being able to experience a national cup final for as little as £15* makes this a great deal for a family day out. Caledonian Thistle belongs to the city, so let’s make sure that the city belongs to them on cup final day” TOGETHER WE BELIEVE, TOGETHER WE ACHIEVE * Lowest child match ticket/ bus price

  3. Having listened to an inspiring talk by Jim Sillars last night I'm far more inclined against a monitary union now. I hope that the Yes campaign are playing the long game and there will be a few surprises sneaking in under the radar in the lead up to the vote. We don't need sterling, we don't need the EU, and trident? Just for a couple of years! And to help build the kind of country I'm sure we would all love to live in and leave for future generations! In Place of Fear II is his new book. watch this too http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WipzrXJ7E48 #feelinginspired!

How can anyone say we will be Better Together in a Union which, over the past thirty five or so years, has, and will for the foreseeable future, subject our society to policies which increase poverty and inequality, when, with the confidence and will, we would be Better together working for ourselves in an Independent Scotland.

All nice and easy. A big thumbs up from me personally. Only downside when they called back I knew it was them and in my eagerness to answe phone cracked my head off a scaffold baton Got an egghead lump and a wee cut which refuses to stop dribbling. Gave the joiners a laugh all the same :)

  16. Thanks Davie, I wouldn't expect CJT to organise this, you have quite enough on your plates as it is and you are doing a remarkable job for the support already which I am sure you must know is very much appreciated No I just hoped there might be a supporters association or club in the Tain / Dornoch vicinity that might be organising something. Perhaps I am being over optimistic about the strength of support for ICT up here. Maybe one day this will materialise as we progress our way to the Euro final ( How's that for happy clapping ?) Anyway thanks again Davie for the interest you have taken.

  19. I am at a loss to understand why there is supposed to be clash in TV scheduling. I seem to recall that whenever this happened in the past, the football was on BBC 1 and the rugger went on BBC 2. Of course that was in the days when TV had to accommodate the sport, and not the other way around. Since when did rugby reach such a level of prominence that it is considered to have parity with the beautiful game?

  20. With us being in the League Cup Final, the Scottish Cup Quarter Final and in a strong place in the league, we must surely come out of this season in a very healthy state financially speaking. Last year, we produced very positive financial reports with us making a profit for the first time in years. In many ways, we have already bettered last season. In the League Cup last year we got to the semi final, and we've gone one better this year and we all know what comes with that. In the Scottish Cup, we are one round further than last year....with the QF tie being televised too. In the league, we are well on course top at least match out finish lady year with two games In hand on 4th place United. Makes for very positive reading!

  21. There is also this little news snippet which boosted the bank balance last autumn: 'Rangers missed out on a share of a £600,000 pay-out from former TV company Setanta - because technically they don't exist anymore. Clubs who were part of the SPL between 2009 and 2012 received payments this week as their final divdend for the company going administration back in 2009. But Rangers got nothing because they were classed as a club which no longer exists after their liquidation in June 2012'

  22. A vulnerability seriously further compounded by the unpredictability of the price of the vanishing "one trick pony" asset of oil - which, unlike the pound, Salmond clearly isn't keen on sharing in any meaningful way apart from drawing a line which gets Scotland every last drop it can grab. I could see the government of a separate Scotland spending most of their lives on the toilet, totally bricking it about the next set of oil prices, balance of trade figures and statement of the value of the feebly supported Eck (*) on the international money market. (*) 12 Swinneys = 1 Groat, 20 Groats = 1 Eck That would be the one trick pony who's true value was deliberately played down by the Westminster government in the early 1970s when Scottish independence first became a serious concern to them and that we were told would be completely exhausted by the year 2000 just about the same time all the world's computer operated systems would collapse causing aircraft to drop from the sky and traffic light systems to fail resulting in carnage. No doubt the value of oil to the economy will gradually decline on a fluctuating basis over the next half century or more which is one reason the Scottish government has been ensuring that we are among the most advanced in Europe when it comes to renewable energy. If only we didn't have to rely soley on energy and had healthy distilling, fishing, agricultural, tourism, academic, medical research and production, financial, light engineering and electronics sectors as well. If only we had many skillful, hard working, intelligent men and women who were resourceful enough to make breakthroughs in the world of medicine, communication, transport and the like. That said, I agree with those who say that the debate is not soley or mainly about economics. I don't necessarily accept that it is an entirely emotional debate but, from my point of view, it is about having the confidence in a world where the geopolitical landscape has changed in recent years to embrace that change in a country the wants to embrace and take advantage of it rather than be a Northern annexe to a country generally governed by those to whom positive internationalism is a threat rather than an opportunity or, if that is not their personal philosophy, feel constrained by and dance to the tune of cranks who do. As far as the economic argument is concerned, when you strip away the rhetoric, hyperbole and downright lies on both sides most genuinely impartial analysts seem to conclude that, based on figures over the last two decades and projections for the next ten years or so, it being difficult to forecast beyond that with any accuracy at all, an independent Scotland will be between 6% better off and 4% worse off depending on a number of variables. Accordingly, independence would not be a fiscal panacea but nor would we be on the breadline but, while we would continue to have much in common with England and our Celtic near neighbours, we could develop these relationships without the restraints that the political and socioeconomic differences between us and England in particular that have become increasingly tense and difficult to reconcile over the the last forty years or so.

  25. The final alone could net us £500k I imagine, with share of ticket sales/merchandise/prize money/TV If we get into the top 6 aren't we likely due a home game v Aberdeen, Dundee Utd and Celtic as well; which I would like to think will all have good attendances in the home and away ends. The accountant would be in dreamland if we sneak through our Scottish Cup QF and get yet more gates/tv/prizes etc!

    • Hamilton -V- Inverness CT - Play off Final 1st Leg - Preview
However all is not well and we just kept our heads above water thanks to Arbroath being rubbish. Onto the play offs and an insipid performance at Links Park left us all wondering if our time has come to drop into oblivion. Our performance certainly would not look out of place in the lower leagues. We clung on for a 0-0 draw away from home and scraped a 1-0 win at Inverness with Billy Mckay saving our blushes. Everything about the club has negative undertones at the moment.

    • Inverness CT 1-0 Montrose Play-Off Second Leg (0-0)
Little Consolation: Inverness will face Hamilton Accies in the Play-Off final after nervously scraping past part-time Montrose who were eventually reduced to ten men when Blair Lyons was sent off after an off the ball incident in the 84th minute involving Morgan Boyes. Inverness had dominated throughout, but failed to capitalise on their possession, and as per the entire season failed to create much of note. The first half was livlier than the first leg, but the same problems showed up our lack of quality. We started with no wingers and Billy Mckay as usual in a withdrawn role. It's not worked all season, so why should it suddenly work now. A woeful first half ended goalless and it was on the hour and out of the blue when Billy Mckay prodded in from three yards to score the only goal of the game following a corner

    • Inverness CT -V- Montrose - Second Leg (0-0)
As much as we have criticised the Caley Jags performance on Tuesday night, let's not lose sight of the fact that Montrose are a decent League 1 side with a good blend of experience and talented prospects. For our part, let's keep them as a good League 1 side and that means no room for faffing about. Time has run out now, there's no hiding places and no room for shirkers. Ditch the sideways passing or put goal posts in front of the Main Stand and tuck shops.

    • Montrose 0-0 Inverness CT - Play Off 1st Leg
      FULL TIME: 0-0

All to play for on Saturday, but don't hold your breath...

However, if we continue like this, it will be our final game this season.

Best performer for us was Samson Lawal, the only bright spark on the field.

Alloa 2-2 Hamilton was the other semi-final score tonight. On this evidence, I doubt either side will be quaking in their boots.

    • Inverness CT 3-1 Morton - Report
It was a lovely evening for a game of football, what could possibly go wrong? Well, what did go wrong was Queen's Park beat an understrength Airdrie 2-0 at Hampden, therefore despite beating Morton 3-1, Inverness head for the play-offs. Morgan Boyes opened the scoring with a thumping volley after half an hour. Kirk Broadfoot benefited from slack defending to level before the break then proceeded to earn the wrath of the home support with an embarrassing celebration in front of the North Stand. Cammy Harper relieved Billy Mckay of penalty kick duties and duly slotted home from the spot ten minutes after the break. The scoring was completed just after the hour when Sean McAllister drilled home into the bottom corner. Robbie Muirhead had been sent off for simulation then taking a wee fit to himself and was promptly sent off after 58 minutes just after Harper had knocked in his penalty kick, probably aggrieved that he never earned a spot kick for his dramatic dive.
