  1. There is absolutely no scenario where having Ross County in a league above us is a positive for ICTFC. The ideal situation would have been for us to have made the step up again, but that didn't happen and I found it quite bizarre that Robbo was in the courier yesterday championing County and hoping they remain in the Premiership.

  2. I don't disagree that it would disappointing to have no Highland representation in the Premiership (especially given the battles to get and remain there...for both teams), but as an ICTFC fan first and foremost, I want what is best for my club....and employees are duty bound to, publicly at least, be seen to want what's best for the club also.

  5. As far as Tansey is concerned, he would, without doubt, improve the squad. However, the bottom line is that we can't afford him and we are, in any event, much better looking to recruit young players with potential right now.

  6. I thought we used Lindleys. Must have changed and shock horror nothing was said. Either way the club's serveries are appalling both in price and quality. At least the Tastyness guy supplies decent homemade food.

  7. Sooner County get down below us where they belong the better.

  8. That's very much my thinking too, on a personal competitive level I want to see county get relegated but it will certainly lower the exposure and interest in football in the highlands which ultimately will lead to less youth participation interest and development. Ultimately what will be will be, its Robbos job to get us back into the PL and the same for county. I'd love nothing more than seeing both highland teams back in the PL, as Caley D mentioned it's sometimes very much perceived as a central belt sport in Scotland and everything revolves around that, and it shouldn't be the case

  9. I've raised a number of suggestions with the club via @RedCard but sadly I don't think too many were followed through. Maybe it was a cost thing or a resource issue but I agree that more tie ins with local businesses would be good be it pubs, bars, bakers, travel firms etc.

  10. It must be in their contract that they can set prices stadium wide? One of the vendors told me he was so embarrassed about what he had to charge for drinks he went and bought bigger cups to try to make up for it!

  11. See for match days it might be worth putting up a merchandise shop inside the north stand at the corner of the main stand as a lot of folk come from the car park and under the bridge and head straight inside the ground. A small tent with some basic merchandise like scarves, hats etc.

  15. Don't see how it could be a resource issue these days as we seem to (not that it's been made clear) now have a FT person doing Project Brave, a new COO (Yvonne?), 2 Marketing companies plus someone doing the social media. On top of the previous staff. Jim Oliver I guess is replacing Iain Aulds position.

  17. We actually did well to get a fee for draper. Whilst he would have improved our team, it wouldn't have been enough to get us promoted. He is on his last legs and I cant see County managing to recoup any money on him. I would fancy Polly to give him a good run around next season.

  19. He was not the same player once the sheep started sniffing around and has done nothing since so I would not be wanting him back.

  20. I got mine! Interestingly it's no longer a book and tickets it's the scannable card, like a lot of clubs have. Make it a lot easier to get in matchday and easier to carry about

  21. Could someone marketing ST's in the town centre be an idea? I wonder if the Inverness public in general has any exposure to these being on sale, and surely someone in the Eastgate/High Street handling out leaflets, talking to people etc. might be an idea?

  23. No point trying to argue, there's so many fans who always see that an ex-ICT manager or player (if in favour) can never do wrong or be criticised, in some ways like OF fans they are always happy if its a 'club man'. Being objective, we performed well in the final third of the season and won the Challenge Cup, but the key target should have been Promotion or at least Play-off's - there wasn't an extended cup run in either competition and in both we went out meekly to opponents who were no better than us. The start of the season was awful with the first third embarrassing given our budget and playing quality, the 2nd third was an improvement but while we stopped conceding it was hardly a substantial points total accumulated. While there's not calls for Robbo to leave or be replaced it has to be acknowledged as a poor season, some of it from the mess the board created but also from appointing a manager who has been out of the game so long. Some may see that as an excuse or reason but Robbo knew as did the board the status and expectations they had taken on. Only the biggest 'fanboys' can think that for the relegated team with the quantity of Premiership experience we have and the playing budget finishing where we have is still a successful season. Those citing it as a good stepping stone for next year need to understand the financial situation and the levels of player we will loose and have to replace - promotion or play-offs next year may be a bigger challenge than the one just past.

  24. Prices wouldn't change. One of the vendors there was told to put his prices up by the club to be more in line with the club's own fare.

  25. I’d prefer if Caley and Ross co were in the HIghland league to be truthfully honest, maybe a space will be available on Saturday if Cove win

  26. That is a very important consideration. For decades, there were instances such as Jack Steedman of Clydebank declaring that the Highlands would get into the SFL "over (my) dead body" and the complete scandal of 1973 when Inverness Thistle were kept out by a single vote by an Edinburgh works team called Ferranti Thistle, now aka Livingston. Then in the summer of 2004, look at the extended efforts that Ken Mackie and his colleagues had to go to in order to achieve a change to the protectionist "SPL Rules" (such as the nonsensical "10,000 seats") so the First Division champions and hence the Highlands could be granted top flight status. I really am doing my best to stop turning this into a rant but then on ICT's SPL debut, you had the likes of Hugh Keevins telling his readers that the team couldn't score and couldn't defend and Graeme Spiers declaring that he would eat his hat if Caley Thistle survived. The central belt treatment of Highland football is simply an allegory of the manner in which the Highlands have been treated by the rest of Scotland for centuries and it would therefore be a very bad thing indeed if the Highlands were to lose its hard fought for Premiership presence after 14 years.

    • Inverness CT 3-1 Morton - Report
It was a lovely evening for a game of football, what could possibly go wrong? Well, what did go wrong was Queen's Park beat an understrength Airdrie 2-0 at Hampden, therefore despite beating Morton 3-1, Inverness head for the play-offs. Morgan Boyes opened the scoring with a thumping volley after half an hour. Kirk Broadfoot benefited from slack defending to level before the break then proceeded to earn the wrath of the home support with an embarrassing celebration in front of the North Stand. Cammy Harper relieved Billy Mckay of penalty kick duties and duly slotted home from the spot ten minutes after the break. The scoring was completed just after the hour when Sean McAllister drilled home into the bottom corner. Robbie Muirhead had been sent off for simulation then taking a wee fit to himself and was promptly sent off after 58 minutes just after Harper had knocked in his penalty kick, probably aggrieved that he never earned a spot kick for his dramatic dive.

Well, where do you start. It was clear from the begining of the season that something was wrong. Poor signings, dismal performances in the League Cup followed by an abysmal start to the League campaign saw Billy Dodds removed from his position after winning one point in the first six Championship fixtures and replaced by a man with no track record as a manager. A sort of publicity stunt if you like. After the initial new manager bounce wore off, we found ourselves little better off with Big Dunc than we were with wee Billy. We did claw ourselves up to the coat tails of others but the most damning part of our season has been our inability to score goals, especially at home. Only already relegated Arbroath are worse than us. Our team is now full of mercenaries, loan players with no affiliation to our Highland pedigree and many fans have tagged us as being the worst squad ever in our short history. Where are the Golabeck's, Tokeley's, Wilson's..... Much of this can be attributed to our lack of financial nous in the boardroom, failed ventures and now the begging bowls are being put in place to save our club. Having drawn at Dunfermline last week thanks to Aribim Pepple's first goal for the club combined with Billy Mckay's penalty miss, it's now out of our own hands. LAST SIX: D L  W W L  D

    • Dunfermline 1-1 Inverness CT - Report
Out of our hands now: It ended in disappointment for the 319 visiting fans with news that Queens Park had hammered Arbroath 0-5. To rub salt into the wounds, Sheridan and Welsh were amongst the scorers. It's out of our hands now, but it's a must win next Friday and hope Queens Park falter.  Inverness play Morton and Queens play Airdrie. A draw might be enough, but it's a long shot.

I'm not convinced that Billy Mckay was the right man to be taking that penalty, his second failure from the spot in successive games against the Pars.

    • Dunfermline Ath -V- Inverness CT - Preview
Aaron Doran looks likely to have pulled on the Caley Jags strip for the last time after limping off against Raith Rovers last Friday. Sean McAllister returning was a bonus though but the mystery deepens as to why Roddy MacGregor, Austin Samuels and Nikola Ujdur are not featuring either on the injury list or the team list. Baffling to be honest as Roddy has the midfield attributes required, Austin has the speed and potential and Nikola in my opinion, if fit, would be my first choice on the team sheet. Are these guys on the way out? Add to that seven or eight loan players, then next season will see a massive restructure and rebuild at the Caledonian Stadium. I imagine the board members are squirming in their seats like Angela van den Bogerd at a Post Office inquiry.

    • Inverness CT 0-1 Raith Rovers - Report
Inverness threatened the Raith goal and but for Kevin Dabrowski and his bar they could have been dead and buried at the interval. No score at the break and all to play for in the second half. Vaughan opened the scoring early in the second half and Samuel almost levelled but his shot from distance cannoned away off the post. The crossbar was hit a further twice but the goal would not come. Despite peppering the Raith goal, MotM Dabrowski would not be beaten with a string of saves ranging from brilliant to miraculous.
