  1. New contract? What makes you think that the terms will be favourable to Brew.?Maybe not and this may be the Board's way to depress him and make him think seriously about the team's record. I ,however, think that that is NOT the case and the contract may be the same or slightly better for him if presented. I also do not think that a new contract should be offered at this time and a frank discussion should be held ensuring that the Manager knows that if things continue then his job may be in jeopardy. And this in the knowledge that some folk think that it is not all his fault. To be quite frank many other teams would have stopped the rot before now by cutting the tie to the current manager because there is a lot at stake and if this continues it cannot be long before the team faces actual relegation.IMHO. So indeed he is probably being shown loyalty by the club. I have to say that. But for how long now? Brew's contract may not be what he expected. And he may be depressed!
  2. I honestly can hardly imagine that anyone can realistically say that the club or the Board don't care . But money is tight no doubt and paying off the likes of ...say...Brew and ...say....Bannerman to satisfy the braying hosts will cost a lot of money so what is there to do? You can also understand that they are thinking that Brew should have a fair chance and loyalty does count for something so to speak. But his policy of playing so few players up front does appear to be a nervous nelly type of attitude and playing close to the edge may not be Brewster's idea of fun. Let me say that it is fun though and it comes with spills and thrills and is not for everyone. I just don't get the feeling that Craig is a devil may care type of character who will risk strongly to win with aggression and force. The person who is willing to bell the cat is one who will get the cat's attention in no uncertain terms but is he that type of chappie I wonder? Only the SHADOW KNOWS....
  3. Then if Rooney started regularly and played very well then maybe Stoke would whisk him away and where would ICT and Brew be then ? Personally I think he should be played regularly and "de'il tak the hindmost "so to speak. Brew's challenge now is to win games at all cost to avoid relegation.Nothing else. And if he can start winning games you never know what this may lead to but the players must get into a rhythm, score goals, get a lift in confidence and see a future at Tulloch Caledonian Stadium. Does anyone think on here that Ict has a ruthless streak in them ...or not?
  4. Well, well, Clacher is back and he states the obvious--we can't keep on re-cycling Managers etc....
  5. The likes of Jimmy Johnstone, Willie Johnson and George Best were small but tricky--seemed to have no problem running defenders ragged. In fact George Best had a small body and looked very thin and not at all strong but he was probably the best forward in the U.K. in his day. So the problem lies elsewhere. Either Barrowman just does not have the strength or gusto to get the job done alone , or it's Brewster's fault for playing him without the necessary support. Why does he not play to win these days?--put 3-4 forwards up front and play as if you want to win the frigging game? Pin the opposition defenders back in their half of the field and give the crowd a run for their money. After all we are consistently losing so what does Brew have to lose? Or am I living in the past when football was supposed to be played with 5 forwards? I am a pimple who is turning purple.
  6. Are you speculating about doom and gloom already? Goodness .... That's like Canada Bob betting on flies going up a wall on the anticipation that the four o'**** at Connemara won't go due to a jockeys' strike..............
  7. Was he "over the hill" or simpl,y over the top?
  8. Did any of you think that the Board would bullet him out the door at this stage. C'mon folks get behind Brew--our only chance this term. Remember he IS a new Manager and the transition from player to Manager takes time. Give him a break, Give but don't expect to take, Cut him some slack Get off his puir wee back
  9. Flybe are a good airline. On my recent trip from meeting James Bond in London I used Flybe to return quickly to The Hall in Fort George. I found them to be a no frills airline ( the seat backs wouldnae go down and when I asked the hostess she agreed it was to save money on short flights) but the hostesses actually take the time to physically demonstrate the body floaters which was different to the (now) doomed Zoom Airlines , where a glossy brochure was stuffed into the seat in front of you and you only found it due to boredom making you desperate enough to look for it. On the way over from Canada with Zoom they charged for every drink and piece of tissue paper, including the provision of water. However I got round that one by staggering to the toilet at the back and telling the hostess that I was sick and immediately flopped down in the back seat. Naturally she gave me a plastic cup of water--free ascth eiar we breathe. It was so satisfying. And on the way back home every thing was free--little did we know at that point that two days later they were bankrup and the poor things were shut down . A prior clue was the fact that they took off almost an hour late from Gatwick--allegedly due to fuel problems--yep ,probably had not paid the bill for the fuel or airport charges. Anyway Flybe is here to stay--I like their crisp colourful uniforms on board also. Very natty young ladies I must say......
  10. There you Go! All's well that ends well. Och, yer sic a nice wee man........
  11. So, just out of pure interest, not big headed-ness or nothing, ( ) why did you not carry forward the totals of the former site allocated to each poster Scotty and CaleyD, and simply add them to the new poster's threads?
  12. My goodness--the scrolling thing actually works a treat. My ! you are a clever younger man aren't you Scotty ? Still, if I was your age I could ......
  13. The SP/Jock Watt era ? ........What? Jock dae ye hear whit that wee learned man is saying aboot us. As if we are over the hill or something? Streuth! One cannae come on a site thae days witthout getting paddled, pilloried or pigeon-holed......
  14. Oh Ross--you DOOO look divine in that new outfit!
  15. I am the only ICT fan on this site --and it's only 8.24p.m. . What should I do ? Snooze? Phone IHE in Chorley? Wake up Caley D or Scotty with a phone call. MMMMMMM?????? Call Craig and ask him to discuss the team for the next match? All of the above plus.....? It could be a long night ....
  16. But what if you are old like some Pimples are and don't have any teeth? On what other person or profession can you cut your haggling teeth. Pun intended.
  17. Alex MacLeod---your comment about ICT not using the width of the pitch and not using the wings echos my sentiments entirely. When you see both teams crowding out the middle of the park one can't help wondering why.?Last time I was at Tulloch my pal remarked to me that his umbrella could cover all the players on the pitch. :thumb04:
  18. " Let's slag Brew of?" Nah, nah ..it's more like "let's slag Brew OF-TEN" Sigh.
  19. Well this may only be the opinion of a ballooning Pimple but if he ever was directly responsible for the downfall and cessation of Inverness Caley Thistle as a football club he would attract such rancour and bitterness in the town that HIS bubble would well and truly be burst. Additionally he might find that his business in the area might go down the tubes. So being as astute a businesman as people appear to feel he is, on that score alone it is very unlikely ever to happen whether he likes football or not.
  20. Unbelievably generous of ICT. That is a costly investment indeed. As I say what did they see in him.....potential?
  21. So what role does Mr Brewster see in Djebi-Zadi--he is rarely seen in first team colours and what was it that enticed Brew to make the decision to sign him in the fist place? Currently seems awfully like a passenger ? Cooments?
  22. If it is O.K for Ferguson to throw tantrums (boots flying etc) is it so bad for Brewster to flip occasionally on the touchline.? The problem is that he is probably not only frustrated but now becoming desperate as he inevitably slides closer to dismissal, even if that may not be in the immediate minds of the B.O D. So what do you expect of him--to stroll along the dugout touchlines with a big smile on his face, sayimg politely to all as he does a soft shoe shuffle ..."after you Claude"? He probably does want the best for ICT as he does for himself but there is not going to be any easy answer--money must be very tight at Tulloch .
  23. Rory and Wood compared toBrew? Well that'a thought indeed IHE.
