  1. Just listened to Dunc’s pre-match, as STFU said, a breath of fresh air! Loved his honesty about the task ahead. If the players buy into his way of working and thinking (no reason why they wouldn’t) then I feel we have a good chance of clawing our way out of this mess and up the table.
  2. Could this be the start of a ‘Big Dunc’ effect attracting decent players? Can’t imagine he’d have considered coming here under the previous management team. Always had a lot of respect for the lad, he could do a good job for us.
  3. Nice job Don, always enjoy your pre-match posts - ta very much
  4. Was Robbo at the game or did he nip up the road to see his Jam Tart buddies meet his other buddies at Dingwall?
  5. Hamilton Accies @ 1.44 ta Tempted to go for the new manager bounce at Arbroath but daren’t risk jinxing our slim hopes…
  6. Now they’ll have someone they can look up to…
  7. I think that’s actually a cracking way of welcoming him to his first home match
  8. Been ruminating on this since the first announcement. Not only far from my first choice, not even on my radar. Big Dunc never even came to mind as I never would have thought he’d consider a position like ours. My feelings pretty much match the pros and cons on previous posts… Biggest pro has to be his high level coaching experience, something we desperately need, and the high regard in which he was held is surely a positive. Secondly, it has to be the prospect of his connections and the chances of him being able to attract some players who would probably never have given us a second glance. I’m also hoping he’s a strong enough character to stand up to the suits in the boardroom who have been doing their best to destroy our club. My biggest concern was/is his lack of knowledge of Scottish football and our lower leagues in particular. There are some pretty savvy, well experienced managers out there who have run rings around Dodds and are quite capable of doing so against Dunc if he underestimates the opposition. The appointment of Gary Bollan as his number two is very welcome news. Gary brings the experience and knowledge to the table that Big Dunc lacks. If they can work well together then this could be a master stroke, I sincerely hope it is and I wish them well for the sake of our club.
  9. I’d be happier with Scott Brown but realistically I can’t really see either one of them wanting the job…
  10. HT: 0-0 FT: 2-1 ICT: Billy Mckay DU: Moult Crowd: 2947
  11. …missed out Liz Truss - all of them truly toxic characters as is SG
  12. There’s an article in the Greenock Telegraph linking Dougie Imrie with the job (sorry I can’t attach the link). Personally I doubt that’s on the cards as we wouldn’t have the funds to buy out his contract at Morton, really has to be limited to whoever is available.
  13. Pretty well sums up how I feel too. Maybe an element of rose-tinted specs like Scotty but in all my years on the terracings I never enjoyed anything more than watching Pele’s teams win or lose whatever league we were in. Despite the euphoria of Helicopter Saturday when we beat St Johnstone I felt that it was never likely to be the same again, and I had that same feeling again in 2015 after the cup final win. Sadly my fears seem to have been well founded and my longing for a return of those magical Pele years now seems like a forlorn hope with the hierarchy we currently have.
  14. That's a very interesting perspective, did Robbo deliberately miss all the games to create a clear separation and set himself up for what was inevitably coming?
  15. HT: 1-0 FT: 2-1 ICT: Nathan Shaw RR: Callum Smith Crowd: 2854
  16. Masterful move by Duddsie playing squad players today. We’re obviously all set with a great plan to give Raith a doing next week so no need to give them a heads up of his tactical genius.
  17. I think we’ll be lucky to come away from Arbroath with 3 points, not expecting anything from the other three except an unhealthy dose of embarrassment.
