  1. I think this is an important point. I hope Butcher noticed and brings Russell back in, if not next week, then at least for Dens.
  2. What can we expect in terms of interviews with the manager this season, Charles? Going by this week - nothing at all on BBC Sport and a quick line in the newspapers. Will you be recording post-match interviews at TCS?
  3. The most exciting game i've ever seen on teletext. I think we were 3-1 down going into injury time and won 4-3. Only under Pele!!!
  4. -----------------Marshall---------------- Hutton----Caldwell--Caldwell----Whittaker ----------- Fletcher----Hartley----------- McCormack------Brown------McFadden ---------------------Miller---------------------
  5. It's not as simple as that. The numpties you refer to are central to the great atmosphere. They can be seen home and away, always trying to get the singing going, always having a laugh and always getting behind the team on the park. I'm not sure if they contribute to this forum but i think it would be handy if someone came on stated exactly why they have a problem with Kyle Allison. If what i heard yesterday is true, then Allison should not be playing for this club.
  6. Great day, good game, perfect result. The performance was patchy. I thought we were very good in the first half, playing some decent football on the ground and creating some good opportunities. We definitely looked like a better footballing team than Dunfermline. We lost that foothold in the second half and defended deep as Dunfermline got more direct. I thought that we looked at bit flimsy in the centre of the park in the second half yesterday and i'd like to see Duncan in for Stratford. While Eagle and Imrie weren't as involved as they could've been, i think that they showed enough to suggest that we will create chances from wide areas this season. Sanchez clearly wasn't sharp enough but he had a few nice touches. We defended reasonably well, although i felt we could've cleared our lines quicker at times. I felt sorry for Rooney. His confidence must be completely shot now. The support was fantastic - let's do that all over again at Dens in a fortnight. With regard to the now infamous 'Allison Incident', i think a few folk on here are being a bit harsh with the boys who were shouting the abuse. It's easy just to write them off as eedjits, morons etc. but if the allegations about Kyle Allison are true then he shouldn't be playing for this club.
  7. Dunfermline v Caley - Draw at 3.50 Cheers
  8. I don't buy the argument that Imrie only plays well against the big teams. Early last-season, he inspired us to an extra-time victory over Morton, scoring the winner and generally running his heart out. His sublime assist at Fir Park late last season was almost the moment that kept us up. I've also seen him have very poor games against the Old Firm and Aberdeen. Dougie Imrie always gives everything. He's wasn't particulary consistent in the SPL but he's the type of player who could be a match winner in the first division. If we sell him for five figures then i would see that as a statement of our lack of ambition.
  9. Gannon took one look at Fraser and went out and signed a goalkeeper. He may have conceded 3 against Steau but he was excellent and played a huge part in preventing an embarassing scoreline. Steau are a very good team by Scottish standards.
  10. I think you're probably not far off Alex. Proctor though, hasn't had much of a pre-season so we could see Stratford in the right-back position. What is the story with Russell Duncan? Is he fit? I ask because he wasn't in the squad for Annan. I also found it strange that he travelled to Golspie with the youngsters last week.
  11. I think we're reasonably strong in midfield and in wide areas, but the defence is worrying. Who will play with Gary Caldwell in the absence of McManus and Weir? Who will play at left-back?
  12. Here's what Dougie had to say about the matter in Saturday's P&J: Seems pretty categorical, no? I hope he stays.
  13. Tomorrow lunchtime. I want Albion away because i've never been to Cliftonhill.
  14. Having watched a few of Motherwell's European games, i mentioned to a friend the other day that i though Mikey would be back in Inverness soon enough. I didn't think it would be this soon though.

  16. Me too. Nice easy trip to start with.
  17. It was mentioned a couple of weeks ago that Butcher anticipates bids for some of our players as the transfer deadline gets closer. Having signed a few players, the focus may now turn to moving on some of the players Butcher doesn't fancy.
  18. Apparently Eagle and Haynes can play on either side as can Imrie. Stratford and Proctor can both play on the right as well.
  19. Skinner, Polwarth, Christie, Noble......i think there's a pattern emerging here.
  20. It's very worrying when you think about it like that. I think we might be pretty solid next season but we don't have one single player who can create chances with a clever through ball or take a man on and deliver a decent cross. As things stand, our most creative player is Dougie Imrie, but he can't be relied upon for consistency, nor does he have the quality to carry the team when its not playing well in the way that Barry Wilson or David Bingham used to. If this issue isn't addressed soon then we might find it difficult to break down the likes Montrose and Annan, never mind Dundee.
  21. I think we all recognise now that creative midfielders/wingers are what the squad lacks. In Duncan, McBain, Proctor and Cox, we've got the defensive midfield covered, but creativity is exactly what we lacked for most of last season (until Morais got fit) and will continue to lack without signings.
  22. Courier Article on Trialists Two Slovak forwards coming this week, possibly playing tomoorow night. Sanchez in Spain but Butcher will speak to him. Still hoping to sign Eagle.
  23. It has to be a concern. We are playing against only one full-time team before the league season kicks off. Maybe Butcher sees the two cup games as good preparation though, given that they will be competitive.
  24. We won it with 70 points last time and the same total would've won the league in any of the 5 seasons since then. However, the money Dundee are throwing around might change all that.
  25. Of`course you're entitled to your views SMEE, just as i'm entitled to find them ignorant and disgusting. It seems that you have taken your experiences with a few Eastern Europeans and come to conclusions about "immigrants" in general.
