  1. Finally managed to see a game on TV. The Celtic goal was down to a lack of awareness in central defence...we actually had a one-on-one early in the second half that was, to my eyes, wrongly called offside. ICT looked confident and composed. First half we were playing some lovely one touch stuff in the middle third and the defence, on the whole, seemed to be well organised. Celtic were made to play today. Second half we started flinging a few balls into the penalty area (Tokely) and there's the problem. I've seen 2 games this season (1st game v Aberdeen away and this one on TV) and even on that very limited visual evidence I see we need a commanding central defender and a genuine final 3rd threat. The last will never be bought in because the type of player we need is out of our budget, but the defender is an absolute must. I've said it before, Black must be tearing his hair out that there's no-one ahead of him able to make the runs and make a target. Finally, on a big stage, at Celtic Park, ICT looked at home. Ball on the deck, nice runs and competing with 'Champions'. What happens at TCS is anyone's guess. Yep...but...50/50 that an away team in Glesga will never be given.

    New Kits

(Oh yes!) This is one of the saddest threads I've read on this site in a while... Not only are the grassroots supporters able to articulate a better club image than the paid custodians, they've backed it up with some outstanding designs as well. Well done Gringo (Jr)! Meantime the 'powers that be' play around with the club image like it's some Barbie re-make. Stripes!!!!
  3. err...so who did you think they'd be playing? Barcelona?
  4. Every football club goes through a Berti Vogts phase. But evidence suggests that if the 'pwers that be' have the cahones to act, it can be turned around. Forget Highland reserve, act ruthless, act now and get Robertson back!
  5. The alternative - and an increasing view on this forum - would be to say "I am to blame for this mess", what would you think he should do then?
  6. Correct...he was on his way to visit the Royal Yacht Britannia. Wanted to know how to keep it on the deck.
  7. There's a restaurant in Edinburgh where you only pay what you think the meal is worth. So here's my idea: PAY ON EXIT. Pay what you think the match and team's effort was worth. Result: a full ground every week and a motivated bunch of players. (The only problem I can see would be when Aberdeen visited)
  8. Single: Bohemian Rhapsody LP: Jethro Tull 'Aqualung' (I think, after several hours pondering) First Rock gig: Jethro Tull at Usher Hall Edinburgh
  9. From what I've read, heard and seen...the answer would be yes.
  10. You are absolutely spot on! Education in UK is bloody shocking. English...our language...our heritage...our contribution to world communication, yet half the population of our own Isles know less than a 6 year old in Udaipur about grammar, punctuation and spelling than Scottish people. Truly shocking and thanks for your exhibit. Rant ongoing...!
  11. Having no words to express how pee'd off I am by this result I shouldn't bother being on this forum tonight... I am now in the BREWSTER OUT camp. Sorry Craig, learning your trade at ICT will only drag us down...we are a good team in need of a BOSS.
  12. I translated the original post into German and then put it back into English...you use these online translators at your own risk. It came back as: "In the necessity someone, those was German German to speak can my mummy dad, and my mummy, who tries, to make its family there. It reached to make a cousin but it tilts speaks English, my mummy to write would like it, but somehow German at their whole father never informed they speak inclination. So, if some know to send that one of someone, which could help her to write a letter on German in order, while it will visit to Germany in May, where their father was from this is you such an assistance please P.M.I or answers here and I am in the contact." I used Babelfish.

  15. Really? I thought Norway were the more likely to take something. Huffing and puffing ain't threatening. They knew our game plan and snuffed it out. End of day they had more chances...despite the fact we had more possession. Whatshisface Iwojima will never again pull on a Scotland shirt. Offside, blind linesman, perfect ball along the deck, 6 feet out, no keeper, no defenders, middle of the goal, skew it wide...a You Tube classic!
  16. So sorry to hear your problem My account number is 65778321, password feb82000, mother's maiden name McCracken... Please let me know when you transfer the money. Tks

    CIS Draw

Last time I was ironing crack in a Greenock bar a punter's chair bounced... your move. (Back on topic: Happy with that draw.)
  20. Good pics my insectoid chum but I'm a tad confused by Pic 1 ... were you in the 'home' end? I see the main stand on the right, so the away support are opposite and to the left...by my reckoning that means you're standing with the Lichties. Maybe it has all shifted round since my last visit in 2002...a day when you single-handedly 'charged' the home support when we went 2-0 up...so I can't imagine you're snapping with the enemy! Yours, Confused
  21. I've missed the TCS matchday experience for a while now. Away days being the only opportunity I've had. I am really astonished at some of the reports that have appeared on here about what it is like to go to see ICT at home. It sounds horrendous and I'm really sorry to hear it. If this was any other entertainment business I'm fairly sure the shutters would have been down long ago. The following is an observation from a long way away but I'm wondering if ICT isn't just being run as a few folks' weekend hobby. No business plan, no real progression strategy let alone any sort of profit motive, lacking in even the most basic customer care....just keep it on the tracks and it'll be backslaps, handshakes and right guid swally at the club on a Saturday afternoon. After all, the big boys are haemorrhaging cash so we must be doing ok if we are surviving with meagre resources. Think SPL, act Highland League. It must give a few local blazers in a small luncheon club pond a sense of real kudos to be associated with brand ICT. I wonder what would happen if one investor made ICT their sole business interest. Make money, keep the customer happy, make money, follow a transparent business plan that we can all measure. But then I woke up...
  22. Seem to remember we finished above Falkirk Falkirk 38 49 -4 Hearts 38 48 -8 Inverness CT 38 43 -11 St Mirren 38 41 -28 Kilmarnock 38 40 -13 :thumb04: Of course those promoted clubs havent gained on us whatsoever Wanderer have they? Or we could just use a side thats now extinct as the yardstick on how far we've come on all aspects of running a club, that way we'd look like Real Madrid and nobody could criticise a thing. Lovely...Kilmarnock were apparently relegated last season. Suggest you give Mr Jeffries a call Clach...and another of your wonder teams, St Mirren, finished below us...1 out of 3 certainly proves your case. But that Club Shop...dammit, you're right, that would've made the difference!
  23. Seem to remember we finished above Falkirk, I notice you don't mention Gretna...now who's being 'irrelevant'? Still think a club shop would've guaranteed a top 6 place though.
  24. So where did we finish against those coming up behind us? A good question. 05/06 +25 points (Falkirk), [currently +4 points] 06/07 +10 points (St Mirren), [currently +3 points] 07/08 +30 points (Gretna), {er, that's enough stats - ed!} If only we had built a shop. Mods - can you reinstate the 'Ignore' button on this damn site.
  25. You're in luck Bob, I hear it on good authority that the next release from the Batman Franchise will be directed by Merchant Ivory... screenplay by Ian McEwan. Should be an 'edge of your seat' romp in the Andalucian countryside! Of course it's crap, it's a comic book movie. Look at the tin and see what it says before buying. I liked the gratuitous 10 minute sequence in Hong Kong - that should pull in a few million from China (if the pesky blighters weren't so intent on watching these things on pirate DVD, that is!) Heath Ledger, Gary Oldman and Helena Bonham-Carter perform brilliantly. :thumb04:
