Steve Williams
Proctor played Saturday as a sub. Piermayr could play alongside Golobart. That has been tested against Dunfermline. Proctor or Meekings could play right back. Meekings came on against Dunfermline as RB. Time to make the most of his long throw. After Turner's clanger on his debut Smith will fancy his chances against ICT. The last thing we want is to underestimate him and for him to play an absolute blinder to prove he is good enough to be number one.

David Davis
David Davis made his debut at Leyton Orient yesterday as rock-bottom Chesterfield drew 1-1. He was booked and Chesterfield kept up a 17 game win less run. Not the best of choices I suspect.

Kenny Gillet
In boxing terminology, yesterday he conceded about 4 stone in weight and 6 inches in height to Higdon. We may well miss him against Dunfermline.

The next penalty
Who remembers Lord Lucan? Can you recall where you were when Jim Calder sat on his crossbar during a match? Did you see Thommo score against Stenhousemuir in the Scottish Cup? Did you ever see Denis Wyness get booked? Trivia, but as modern day ICT supporters, can you recall the last penalty? I guess Rooney took it? So when will an ICT be adjudged to have been fouled in the box - yet another Highland mystery. Ross County had their first penalty of the season Saturday. So is their bias against ICT and County or are our players just plain honest? Who thinks our next penalty might in fact be five penalties at the end of extra time with Dunfermline? Will five of our players know what to do or will the referee have to give them a demonstration?

Gambler Jock's Scotch Cup 5th Round Draw.
Dunfermline have just signed Ian Turner - clearly a very good and necessary signing. Their Forum points out we have never beaten them in the Scottish Cup.

Matchday Thread: ICT -V- Dunfermline
'The club also announced on Monday that manager Terry Butcher had decided to appeal against the red card shown to Kenny Gillet during Saturday's 1-1 William Hill Scottish Cup draw against Dunfermline.' Slow motion evidence shows Barrowman kicking Kenny and falling over. Kenny clearly wins the ball. In rea l time it is easy to see how the referee took the decision he took.

Gambler Jock's Scotch Cup 5th Round Draw.
As usual people dismiss the opposition. Dunfermline need the cash, need the win. We will need to outdo them by wanting the game more. IF we do succeed, we would meet Celtic on consecutive Saturdays. A draw and we would play the old firm four times in a month. We have to beat Dunfermline first. At some stage Chris Smith for Dunfermline will play a blinder - it better not be next week.

Caledonian Stadium will look second best

David Davis
David Davis wore the shirt with pride and should go with our best wishes. Both parties knew the terms and conditions at the outset. It would have been a bonus if he had stayed. I do not accept that we will be unable to function well without him. Next week we miss him and Richie but replacements will be desperate to win points for the club and establish themselves. If Owen gets himself fit he will provide extra competition in February.

Caledonian Stadium will look second best
Charlie, Having just read Against all the Odds and refreshed my thoughts about the financial challenges faced by ICT, I conclude 'one Dougal spending too long on his Magic Roundabout' to be rational here. Certainly an SPL Christmas derby would be fantastic against County but we are not safe from relegation and County's exuberance is being hauled back by the chasing pack. An injury to Grant Munro and they might start a calamitous slide. Their current unbeaten run smacks not of ours but Dundee's that took them flying high...........................

Vlad's Blog
As a reminder, Rangers Tax Tribunal resumes on 16 January 2012. They, like Hearts, may suffer administration in the near future if that goes against them. That said, I think Scottish football has been very interesting with Vlad. He has certainly invested a considerable sum of money into Hearts. We have seen some interesting and talented footballers at the Club and some pretty interesting Managers. Vlad has probably enjoyed his trips to Inverness especially his swim across Loch Ness. If nothing else, he is a very interesting survivor from an entirely different part of the world. He is not crazy but someone somewhere is if they think they can rescue Hearts.

Game OFF
Went for a 10 mile run before the game and the roads, pavements and grass are running with excess water. Grassy areas are saturated. Drainage can only happen so far regardless of under soil heating etc. The Caledonian Stadium is after all exposed to sleet, wet snow and rain. Tommy is not superhuman!

St Johnstone Preview 02/01/2012
This is going to be our toughest game so far in 2012. We must not underestimate how well the Saints are playing. If they win they could go third. Sandaza v Golobart - the great Spanish Inquisition.

Penalties
Last year we went undefeated away during the calendar year. This calendar year no penalties in the league assuming the ref does not mess this sequence up tomorrow.Just our bad luck to be drawing with one minute to go and the ref gives us a penalty to mess things up. Well I wonder what 2012 has in store - no home defeats, no bookings or sendings off, no serious injuries?

Hogg out for season?
The critical thing for Chris is that he gets the necessary treatment and recovers. This has indeed been a disaster in terms of injuries and some genuine bad luck. Looking on the bright side, if any team can get out of it, it is Inverness Caledonian Thistle UNITED.

Administration Question
Rangers might lose points through Craig Whyte's alleged directorship ban. At present that may be a long shot. http://sport.stv.tv/football/scottish-premier/rangers/286032-no-rangers-agm-this-year-says-craig-whyte/ http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/rangers/8929528/SFA-to-investigate-whether-Craig-Whyte-is-fit-and-proper-to-own-Rangers.html Given that Stewart Regan asked for details by return it does seem odd that the Ibrox club failed to notify the SFA last week.

Matchday Thread: ICT -V- St Mirren
The bottom six is massively competitive at present. This is a fantastic result but a defeat next Saturday could put us back at the bottom with some very difficult fixtures heading up. Congratulations to Ross County on another fantastic result.

Tansey Appeal
In a court of law the referee could not prove there was use of an elbow 1 there is no photographic evidence 2 he was unsighted with his only witness, Mr Samaras also from Glasgow, providing just circumstantial evidence with an elaborate piece of acting. Yet as Rob Maclean observed, Mr O'Reilly could not get his card out fast enough. Let us suppose the club appeal to the SFA. They uphold the decision so ICT appeal to the Court of Arbitration in Sport and that Mr O'Reilly produces no valid reason for the sending off. Could the SFA be liable for negligence and pay ICT damages?

ICT -V- Celtic : Matchday Thread
Two offside goals and an assist from the referee. In other walks of life a person could be disciplined for such ineptitude. He should be made to watch a video of his key decisions rather than allow the SFA to bury them and move quickly on. Ref also sent off Steve Jennings who comes from the same territory as Greg. A neutral person would have found today's decision dodgy. The BBC found little in it.

Tade vs Rooney
Tade could prove to be a very shrewd signing if he continues to grow in confidence. There is clear evidence he is learning his trade well at SPL level. His strength is a major asset. His battling qualities are what help a team succeed. Gregory really wants to improve and succeed. Adam has now to work on his game to prevent slipping back like Mark Brown did. Anyway, it is good that our fickle supporters who traditionally dismiss our new strikers within a few games are warming to Gregory.
