  1. What is galling is that in 2008/09 we were relegated with 37 points and a goal difference of -21. If you look at the current table, three teams will finish with less than 37 points this season. Hibs play Aberdeen so both can reach 37 but Hibs goal difference would have to be -21 if Aberdeen won. If Hamilton beat ICT - Terry will go absolutely ape if they do - they will reach just 29 points. As a reminder St Mirren were also on 37 points the year we were relegated but even if they squeeze a win against St Johnstone this weekend they will only reach 35. Last year they managed 34 points but were save by Kilmarnock on 33 and Falkirk on 31.
  2. Well I have renewed mine so hopefully am one of the first to do so. I guess I am currently lucky in being able to afford this but now we are back in the SPL it is a privilege to watch football at this level. I miss games so I wonder whether there is demand say for a 13 ticket season ticket? I am not advocating that for myself but possibly for those living away or restricted by work. In the main stand it could be priced at say ?240 and could be used as and when required except when the old firm played when pre-booking could be required. This prices games at ?18.46 each which is good value for money. The club clearly needs as many season ticket holders as possible and therefore perhaps 50 of these could be made available in both stands possibly for different groups.
  3. May be the Directors are swaying things in Grant's favour if he gives it one final push against the Accies.
  4. Two games, two clean sheets. Magnificent.
  5. Just a small point, Jonny 'I have been incredibly patient but have not lost my amazing enthusiasm' Tuffey made his SPL debut last Saturday and started with a clean sheet. Your smile, enthusiasm, work rate and International call ups, has probably pushed Ryan to great heights this season but your professionalism has been first class. Well done.
  6. Unfortunately Russell's career has been plagued by occasional immaturity. Both he and Mair were born in Aberdeen in late 1980 so probably know one another well. I cannot defend his immaturity but he was far from violent. In this season of whinging by Lennon and other issues surrounding respect for referees, it would be great if either Russell's red card was rescinded or Mair convicted by TV evidence of childishly getting a fellow professional sent off. It would be an amazing act of humility if Inverness gambled ?1,000 for an appeal on a player who is not critical for the last two games but who has been a great servant to the club. That and the offer of a new contract for Grant would put Inverness on the map as a truly fair and decent club. That image could increase the attractiveness of players and future support staff choosing ICT as a trustworthy and fair employer.
  7. This was a sanity check and the people have spoken. Grant has nothing to lose by playing three more great games and then being offered a new contract - there would be no loss of face by the club and Grant would be absolutely driven next season. Aye.
  8. I confess to having sympathy on this one. Having been sucked in by Melville's millions, Dundee are now trying to survive by living within a very tight financial regime and after a 25 point penalty have so far survived brilliantly. How would we feel if we were in the same situation, stopped from signing temporary triallists and having to play Tommy in goal because there was no one else eligible? I think Charlie Bannerman might cut it as a 15 minute triallist goal hanger. I bet Maurice Malpas could last 30 minutes if the club needed him in the SFL. Needs must.
  9. Craig, wee man, I forgot to kiss you goodbye when you left for that better job!
  10. Celtic must love the wet trips to the Highlands.
  11. Psychological warfare. Celtic pack their bags after a warm night in the Kingsmills and head back to Glasgow. They train Monday and presumably head back Tuesday morning. Hopefully they travel by coach on both journies rather than fly.
  12. Rory is quite a sensitive guy. Brewster at times treated him like dirt. Now that his confidence is up and given an increase in his maturity a supportive management team could get great results from him. I have always said Rory has talent. Barrowman is narcisstic and lazy. Rory is neither. He just needs a bit more guidance and development.
  13. Iain Brines and assistants got 10/10 today. No bookings. A credit to fair play on both sides.
  14. Brewster's sunbed was moved out to create space for Jimmy's super duper sunbed. The Golden Jimmy sunbed model design is based on Rossco's shin pads.
  15. 'KENYAN SOCCER STAR: There may not be any Kenyans playing in the popular English Premier League, but Kin Joho is happy that a young man of Kenyan ancestry is strutting his stuff in the Scottish Premier League and getting rave media reviews. It?s 21-year-old Eric Odhiambo, who was born in England, and plays for Inverness Caley Thistle, and in whom some English clubs have shown a keen interest. ?Names such as Odhiambo and Onyango are exclusively Kenyan. We are proud to have Kenyans players in the United Kingdom,? says Joho. ' http://www.nation.co.ke/oped/Cutting+Edge/The+Cutting+Edge+/-/440802/1110932/-/wrmkx3z/-/
  16. and for the doubters, Chris Innes played a key part in stopping St Johnstone getting back into the match after he replaced Procs. He has taken time to settle but that performance should please him and I hope quite a few supporters.
  17. I thought the players worked bloody hard and stopped St Johnstone sneaking 3 points. That was not an easy win.
  18. But can he work with Adams?
  19. We're on our Way - The Torridon song specially written for the journey into the Second Division Long time ago it seems, November, since this journey began We beat berwick rangers at home, we beat them 5-1 Then next to come was Inverurie, we beat them 4-0 it was their first competitive game and we left them feeling ill we are the staggies and were on our way to the final we are the staggies and were on our way to the final Stirling Albion probably wish that they had never came we gubbed them 9-0 and promptly sent them hame then down to edinburgh and back we played hibernien we outplayed them over the two games, and booked our place at hampden we are the staggies and were on our way to the final we are the staggies and were on our way to the final We played Celtic in the semi final 2-0 it was the score but anyone watching, theyd have to admit, we should have probably scored four We lost the final and lost our way, We are the Staggies who sent Adams away We gubbed Deveronvale, Barrowman scored two! McStay joined us for the journey to Div Two We're on our way farewell to Caley Welcome Robbo our mate in East Fifee We're on our way back the way, back the way, We are the Mighty Staggies going back the way Can someone save us the mighty drop? Seven goals at home so far, Clippity Clop Over the Bridge and Far Away,Back the Way There's a hush at Vicky Park Today Every Time we score a goal the Jailend roars Its silent most weeks until Barrowman scores We gubbed the Binos 9-0 last year Yesterday we gubbed the Binos nil nil We are the mighty Staggies slipping away Back the way, while Mighty Caley slip away We are the Mighty Staggies going back the way Hello Robbo our mate in Fifee
  20. Saving County may be a problem. Well Willie McStay has answered his own question - no he did not. DidnaStay went into Saturday's game clearly briefed by Barrowman and said: 'We can hand out a beating.' Well done Jocky Scott. In a classic wind up the Inverness Courier reported: ''County, if they required a boost ahead of tomorrows game they need only recall their encounter last season against Stirling. County dispatched the Binos 9-0 on their run to the Scottish Cup final last year.'' Charlie Christie, that was a great report!
  21. Charlie Bannerman normally does the fun run so he's going to have to leg it too. Roy McBain did the half last year so may have to speed up especially if selected to play. Rossco and Grant have been the official starters before although Rossco thought it funny to use the tape to trip people up! But Heyho, it could have been a 1.30 kick off and that would have shafted the lot!
  22. Means a fast Inverness Half Marathon and quick lift to the Stadium. Might just make it.
  23. As I posted on Saturday it did not look very pleasant. It will take some time to strengthen it when it repairs. He was very inspirational against Elgin and Morton as he bettled back from time out. Here's hoping he makes it back in the team again this season to try and win a contract for next year.
  24. Given the various suggestions there is a lot to be said for a medley including Robert Burns My Heart's in the Highlands - chorus of
  25. Confuscious he say 'Adam russian shot like young boys. Hebee think too much pre-contact.' Butcher and fans say 'Now sign on the dotted line...training will be given.'
