January 30, 201016 yr I see I got me programme today for ?2.50, and this weeks is far far smaller than before. It's just a wee flimsy thing. An indication of ICT's financial trouble perhaps?
January 30, 201016 yr I must admit today's programme was not the biggest of reads....at least the game was worth watching though if not a little frustrating at times.... :022:
January 30, 201016 yr There hasn't been much going on in recent weeks though. Had a lot of posponments.
January 30, 201016 yr There hasn't been much going on in recent weeks though. Had a lot of posponments. Very good point, Wish I had thought of that, Cant add any more to that really.
January 30, 201016 yr Or perhaps some contributors to the programme were frogmarched out of the stadium to face a firing squad as they dared to criticise the club Edited January 30, 201016 yr by stevico1
January 31, 201016 yr There hasn't been much going on in recent weeks though. Had a lot of posponments. There's been a lot going on by the sounds of things - it's just that folk are scared to say anything. Or perhaps some contributors to the programme were frogmarched out of the stadium to face a firing squad as they dared to criticise the club :) quite!
January 31, 201016 yr Yesterday's programme was more like a pamphlet. Lightweight in every sense of the word.
January 31, 201016 yr Dont think its anything to do with lack of content. i think youll find this is the way the prog is going to be from now on guys.
January 31, 201016 yr I was thinking that it was looking a wee bitty thin yesterday a wee bit of a rip off if you if ask me but I lost mine at the footy yesterday :tonguecheek:
January 31, 201016 yr Author Just go into the shop, they give out previous games ones free. Edited January 31, 201016 yr by Renegade
January 31, 201016 yr Apparently the club are thinking about putting the programme into a new format - following an idea that has been patented by Tulloch Homes.
February 28, 201016 yr Why do we have to keep paying ?2.50 for a programme that's half the size of the ones we used to get? Fair enough we've had games postponed recently and there's probably not as much news as usual, but surely we can have opposition team info again and other stuff to fill in pages? Also, what happened to the team sheets we were getting? The club must be saving money on the reduced size of the programme, so I take it I'm expecting too much to get a team sheet now?

Can confirm there was team sheets in the prog on Sat. Did you arrive early or late? Smonetimes not ready till about 2.30pm. If the prog seller had run out you can pick one up from another if you show your programme.
March 1, 201016 yr I think the program has been a tad "anorexic" for many weeks now, not just last Saturday.
March 1, 201016 yr Its just a sign of the times as the club economise for life in the first div and lower revenues i'm afraid, not to worry i found one at the stadium on saturday :P Edited March 1, 201016 yr by caley100
March 1, 201016 yr Its just a sign of the times as the club economise for life in the first div and lower revenues i'm afraid, not to worry i found one at the stadium on saturday :P Size of prog is due to economies but I know for a fact that Bryan, the programme editor, is trying to push as much content into the available space as he can.
March 1, 201016 yr The matchday magazine has been outsourced to Century Publishing who are now in control of finding advertisers and making it pay. This was done as the club have lost thousands of pounds on it so far this season and were unwilling/unable to continue to produce it themselves. As a result the amount of space available for things like Editorials has been scaled back which means it is now little more than an advertising brochure dressed up as a programme.

The programme was put together and published in house Bryan Munro was the editor.
March 2, 201016 yr I think they are the publishing/printing arm of the Highland News Group. So many names for the same company. New Century Publishing = Highland News Group = Scottish Provincial Press. My understanding is that everything, including 15 regional newspapers, is printed in Dingwall at the companies 'Highland Web Offset centre, though produced and published in Inverness, Elgin and Wick. I wonder does going back to pre-SPL programme production mean we're hedging our bets on going up. I know Bryan Munro done the editing but who employed him. Is he an SPP employee?
March 2, 201016 yr Bryan still does the editing. Dont know who employs him. Will maybe ask him when I next see him.
March 2, 201016 yr I believe that Bryan is/was one of the club's unsung heroes who volunteered his time for the program editor's position. I have no idea if he was ever remunerated on a regular basis by the club or anyone else, but if he was I'll bet it was nowhere near commensurate with the effort he has put in basically since the club began life in 1994. Even now I will guarantee you that despite the rumblings over the quality of the program itself due to the amount of adverts, he will be putting in the same sterling effort to create content, he just wont have enough space available to him ! Bryan is one of the same ilk such as Ian Broadfoot or Peter MacCallum who have been around the club since the beginning and offered up their time and expertise for no financial gain. Ian and Peter ran the club shop (which also doubled as the ticket office) for many years as volunteers on match days when we were in the lower divisions. I cant remember when it was formalised but thats when they gave it up and ICT staff took it over. Ian continued (and still continues) to produce the stats despite retiring and now living in Perthshire. Peter is now on the club staff on a part-time basis I believe.
