  • When we got the teamsheets in the bar pre-match there was some discussion about whether we would go with two up front, Foran and McKay. It turned out that we stuck with the 4-2-3-1 that we have used s

  • In fact, after 120 minutes and 7 penalties, the decisive moment came when Esson made his first save of the entire night. We might not have been great, but there was only ever one team going to win thi

from the preview:- :notworthy:

Most of our games against the Warriors have come in Division 2 and Inverness hold the upper hand. At Ochilview, The Muir have one win in four games against us. Oddly enough, the last time we met at Ochilview was in a League Cup match in July 1999 when we came through with a 1-3 scoreline. For those of a nostalgic persuasion, here are the teams from that day, and incidentally, McLeans first goal was timed at 1min 34 secs.

STENHOUSEMUIR 1 (Mooney 83)

Hamilton, Lawrence, Gibson, Armstrong (Banks 70), Graham, Davidson, Lorimer, Fisher, Watters (Mooney 70),

Cummings (McKinnon 52), Wood

INVERNESS CALEDONIAN THISTLE 3 (McLean 2 & 12, Wilson 68)

Fridge, Tokely, Golabek, Teasdale, Mann, McCulloch, Wilson, Stewart (Glancy 63), McLean,

Sheerin (Robson 78), Hastings (Christie 74)

REFEREE – G Simpson

ATTENDANCE – 534

Who said nostalgia ain't what it used to be.............

Stenhousemuir: Robbie Thomson, Ross, Buist, McMillan, McKinlay, Ferguson, Iain Thomson, Hodge, Dickson, Gemmell, Kean. Subs: Rodgers, Darren Smith, Craig Anderson, Lawson, Shaw.

Inverness CT: Esson, Raven, Graeme Shinnie, Warren, Meekings, Doran, Draper, Andrew Shinnie, McKay, Foran, Pepper. Subs: Cooper, Morrison, Oswell, Roberts, Reguero.

Referee: Bobby Madden

A good strong team for the game:-

Inverness CT: Esson, Raven, Graeme Shinnie, Warren, Meekings, Doran, Draper, Andrew Shinnie, McKay, Foran, Pepper. Subs: Cooper, Morrison, Oswell, Roberts, Reguero.

Hope we fulfill our potential and get ourselves into the next round.
