I have a friend who has a friend that works in printing and can do us banners on the cheap so we are planning a 20ft banner for the derby in the cup! We are thinking something like 'Is it cold in our shadow?' Or something along those lines. Was just wondering if anyone has any witty ideas of what we could put on it?

Keep the cost down and keep it simple.

Thats what County thought off too, I hear their flag is just a simple white one

IHE - Well done, you never fail to lift my spirits and make me laugh! Oh dear, I didnt mean it like that. Here come the responses! Sorry - senior moment again.

ICTFC - The Highlands are ours - Probably the most versatile of the two main choices, this could be taken anywhere and fans of opposing teams would realise the meaning of this

Forever in our shadows - love it but could really only be rolled out at the county games IMHO

Exactly my train of thought! We aren't spending £150 on a banner to be used in 1 game!

Have to say I hadn't thought of that. Probably best with the highlands one then.

Highland's No.1 Since 1886

Indeed, even more so when you consider that County might not even be in the SPL next season!

Totally put who put the o and the y in county like the full song that we sing. They'd love that

Check out the thread title - it's 'banner for county'.

Well it‘s not my money but #ForeverInOurShadow does get to them!

We do still have to play County 3 times this season at least as well

Got a design done today and I'll post a picture of it later this evening!

They all read this forum as well.... unveil it at the game to surprise everyone!

Get a picture of Charlie Christie on it. They seem to really dislike him, for some reason.

Is this the cattle mart?

Perhaps we should look at some of Roma's signs in the 80s for inspiration -

Have a look at the yellow one third on the left, next to "God Curse Dundee United". That's what you want. Blunt and to the point.

Maybe something along the lines of - "Adams Go Away" (he doesn't like swearing of course) or something like that is what we want. They don't like it up them and such a slogan will strike fear into the Dingwallian crowd from the very first minute!

With respect, "Forever in Our Shadow" has been used as a put down by countless other clubs over the years. I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiments but it's not particularly original.

It would be more amusing to plant said banner in the jailend and jupe the redneck farmhands into unfurling it themselves. I recall some wags at Man United did something similar at Liverpool a few years back.

Something along these lines perhaps:

"Banjo for Sale - Seldom Plucked (Contact RCFC for details)"

"Let's Kick Ross-ism out of Football"
