  • Had he been off talking to a St Johnstone, Aberdeen, Motherwell or something then you might have a point.  However, for me, this has been far from unsettling, the total opposite in fact.   We've jus

  • This thread has moved on a bit since my last post.  The reason I haven't posted on this thread for a couple of days is that I've been in Yorkshire.  I was phoned by a brassy Barnsley divorcée who was

no evidence to say it wont work, up until christmas on our first season back in the SPL we were the same number of points off top (or less?) and still ended up in the bottom six.

im not buying the nice guy routine, nor am i putting any stock in his high profile playing career, hes a poor tactician and the majority of his stay in inverness has hardly been spectacular.

hes signed good players and thats about it, obviously the current squad like him and malpas but they can be replaced.

a good shake up will put an end to my fears of complacency.  even if a player or two go, i think we'll still finish the year strong no matter who is in charge.

next season could be another matter lol

Have you been to any games this season? Some of the football we have played has been the best we have seen thus far in our entire time spent in the SPL. A good "shake up" could have the direct opposite effect. We have made this rise up the table with Butcher at the helm, how you can say that any other manager could walk in and carry on that form?

You're the sort of guy that agrees with the National Rifle Association just because the rest of the world can't believe the drivel that they are coming out with right?

Ah, its good to see now that as he is on the verge of possibly leaving the 'anti-butcher' brigade can come back out and say that he isnt really that good, we can do better, best get rid now when someone wants him etc etc and then don't have to focus on our achievements so far this season which have been heavily influenced by Terry & Mo. Thank god I'm a 'happy clapper'

I'm no happy clapper and I haven't agreed with many of Butcher's decisions throughout his tenure but that's a bit silly imo.

Maurice Malpas and terry butcher are off

Opinion or fact? (Source please)

I was confident they were staying up until this point....where'd I put that razor?

If its true then I'm sorry but its disgusting on Terry's part. The three previous managers who have left us I could understand why they did but this is a joke. Barnsley are going nowhere but down, heavily in debt with a dwindling fan base. He is obviously motivated by money and couldn't give a **** about this club. He won't be getting good luck messages from me...

Let the next chapter of our good clubs history commence

Any date for that rearranged game against County yet?

If it is true I have no doubt at all that him and Mo will be unemployed within 18 months.

Although likely considerably richer so who is the fool?

Forgot to add my preference for manager would be gary bollan with an experienced assistant

The meeting with Barnsley only started about 20 minutes ago.....chill!!!

We are 2nd in the league and still in two major cups. If Butcher goes there will be a quality field of applicants for the job - as well as the usual unemployed suspects

Time will tell if a change does us any good or not, cant say any prediction (positive or negative) is foolish or spot on, its jsut a prediction.  Save that for May.

Jackie Mcnamara would be good, doubt he'd leave par tick though

When Coyle left St Johnstone they thought they were fecked but Mcinnes moved them on even more. There is always hope.

I do like the idea of going for somebody who is proving themselves in the lower leagues, that's how the pyramid is supposed to work, certainly beats any of the merry-go-round SPL old boys that get touted about whenever a job comes up.

Pity Paul Sheerin isn't a few years more into his managerial career...

Well a lack of experience hasnt stopped us hiring in the past.

Had Brewster managed anywhere before us?

Chalrie Christie certainly didn't, that was my main gripe with his appointment, even if he'd spent a season or two at Elgin, Peterhead etc I'd have been more supportive.

Paul Sheerin or Barry Wilson are two ex players I'd welcome back, can't think of any more who have gone into coaching off the top of my head.

What about Les Fridge?!

Twitter folk are saying that todays talks are over and will continue tomorrow.  They also say that the talks have been "very constructive" so far.
