Ex-ICT players' news

Rather than starting a new thread each time there's a snippet of news regarding a former player, this thread can be used for such info.

In a similar vein to the 'Ex ICT players score' thread.

I see that Dougie Imrie has signed for Hamilton Accies. Has he still 'got it' for the top-flight? He's just endured a depressing season with a very poor Morton side. What I'm really surprised about is that he's only 30 - I always thought he'd come into senior football at a relatively late age, being snapped up from the juniors - he seems to have been around for ever!

Reluctant to wish him too much luck as he's obviously going to be in direct opposition to us next season!

Good to see Chris Hogg as Assistant Manager for Bristol City's win over West Ham last night.

Yes it had to happen due to their terrible league position, yet he did so well last season, and this season in league cup and Europe. One of my all time favourite ICT players.

Yes a great player for us and I remember Bryan Munro the programme editor saying he was a live wire in the dressing room, I feel sorry for him but I am sure he will find something else.

I see Neil McCann has lost an appeal against HMRC regarding a tax bill of £190,000. It all related to him working as a pundit for Sky for a few years before his time with us, where he was being paid up to £130,000 a year but through his own company rather than as an employee of Sky. Lots of people in the media have been challenged by HMRC on this sort of arrangement and in simple terms I think McCann lost because he was working exclusively for Sky rather than being a true freelancer.

After finally retiring from playing, Ross Tokely has been appointed manager of Nairn County on a 3 year contract. Best of luck to him.

I totally agree he was a fantastic player for us all through the leagues and has just retired at 45!  Good luck to Ross and all the best to the Wee County under his leadership.

He was great for us, but I feel his time has passed.

Some of his antics last season were unprofessional (punching an amateur Western Isles player, for example) and he’s not endeared himself to HL clubs in general.

Does it also mean he’s no longer coaching our youth teams?

Davide Xausa just got elected to the board of directors of “Canada Soccer”.

With the 2026 World Cup prep happening and a new national team manager to find after John Herdman took the Toronto FC job at the end of last season he may be a busy man.
